Meili and Wenling is the story of a giant panda and a young Chinese girl whose lives become intertwined after Wenling visits the pandas at the Wolong National Nature Reserve. It is at Wolong, which sprung like magic out of the panda book Wenling's grandmother gave her on her fifth birthday, that Wenling and Meili meet for the first time. From the very first moment they are together, Meili and Wenling communicate in a way that only the two of them understand, and Meili becomes that still, small voice inside Wenling's head that leads her to make good decisions and take the right actions. In this story, a family of giant pandas and a family of humans create together a kind of magical place that is built on the love and trust they feel for each other.

Color Me is the story of Johnathan Black, a painter who suffers from schizophrenia. Throughout the drama, his psychoses are represented by percussion and dance. The play follows Johnathan's growth over the course of eighteen years, from the onset of his mental illness through his triumph over insanity as he accepts a position teaching art at a nearby community college. The play begins when Johnathan is only twelve years of age and the Black family is just finishing their evening meal. Johnathan's birthday is arriving, and his parents have decided to give him weekly painting lessons to encourage his young talent. Susan Black is pregnant and will soon give birth to Johnathan's only sibling, Anne Marie. Up in his room after dinner, as Johnathan finishes his homework, he interacts with the demons that will haunt him throughout his youth. His subconscious mind is plagued by nine demons altogether: one black, one white, and one for each color of the spectrum. When Act Two begins, Johnathan is a grown man, hospitalized on an inpatient psychiatric ward. The demons are with him in the hospital, filling the roles of the hospital staff as well as other patients on the ward. All the demons are progressively transformed from the colors of Johnathan's subconscious mind to realistic, tangible characters with whom Johnathan interacts as he becomes grounded in reality. At the conclusion of Act Three, Johnathan, having accepted a job offer to teach art at a local community college, proposes to Claire.

"Scratch a cynic, and you will find a disappointed idealist."George Carlin's insightful observation accurately described Frank Young on the day of his high school graduation in 1968. Growing up in the small San Joaquin Valley town of Modesto, California, his view of the world was the one he wished it to be rather than the one that existed outside his community. That would change dramatically on a sultry evening in 1969 when he set foot in India. With Bangalore as the backdrop, 47 Aerogrammes charts Frank's journey in a remarkable country that would shape this nineteen-year-old's view of the world and change him in ways he could never have imagined. Landing in Calcutta in September 1969 with sixty-two other classmates from Callison College in Stockton, California, he quickly confronted the reality he would face over the next nine months: how does one break free from one's comfort zone and adapt to a culture that bears little resemblance to your home 8700 miles away? In countless encounters with people and places as he crisscrossed the Indian subcontinent, his passage through India became his passage to adulthood. From the generosity of strangers in cities and villages, to unctuous bureaucrats, to an orthodox Brahmin family who demonstrated that parental love speaks the same language in any culture, his year in India transformed him in ways neither friends nor family back home would recognize. But his biggest revelation came four decades later upon landing in New Delhi as a foreign service officer on assignment in India for the US Agency for International Development: the transformation had never stopped. Through journals, letters and photographs taken a half century ago, this book takes the reader through Frank's many adventures where at the end of the day, "In India, anything is possible."

Darien and his companions--Kalos, a knight of the Brigade of Iron; Allura, his childhood friend; Vincent, the Corsair; and Exterra, an elf--made their way to the treacherous Ice Fields of Albakor. They then made their way through the Cave of Ruins to find the Holy Sword that they were seeking, the Lucent Sword. However, finding the sword and ridding Darien of the evil that plagued him from his using the Shadow Sword--one of the Demonic Swords--was only part of the battle. The Empire of Lumin'Valeria still loomed over head. The Empire was not only their problem, but everyone who lived on Gaianterra. And as such, King Alphonse Ashton of the Kingdom of Ballentine had already begun to create an alliance with the other nations around the world. But will his emissaries of war be successful? Will they even be able to complete their missions before Lumin'Valeria could strike? Only time would tell. Meanwhile, Sampson Rockfell is on the trail of a traitor. Will he find whom he sought? Or will this hunt be the end for the Hunter? Jack Destin is still on the trail of the vampires whom he blamed for the murder of his family. Will he find the answers that he seeks, or is he delusional? Has he been chasing an imaginary enemy all this time? Or is he about to unleash a horror upon the world that no one has seen in over a thousand years? Finally, there are the elves. What impact will their actions have on the world of man? Will they help save the world from destruction at the hands of the Lumin'Valerian Empire? Or will they only succeed in starting a war between elves and men?

Do you ever wonder what your cat is thinking when he or she stares at you? How does your cat see the world or events in its life? Well, you are in for a surprise when you open Cat Tales. It contains four short stories about cats, three of them narrated by cats. The first is about an orange tabby cat and its life with two other, possibly oddball, cats in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The second story is about a calico cat living with two Golden Retrievers on a farm in Illinois and the problems they have had with uninvited visitors. The third takes us to Camden, Maine, and relates the exploits of a beautiful Maine Coon cat. Our last story takes us once again to Camden where we learn about the exploits of a cat sleuth named Agatha. Be prepared to chuckle when you read these lighthearted stories about felines so many of us love.

Noubaissem, in the Sara dialect in Chad, means "e;God is with me."e; Baroumbaye means "e;to call me one day."e; If the author's name has accomplished anything in his life, it is much more divine grace.Grace is from the Hebrew word chanan or the Greek word charis, meaning "e;the state of kindness and favor toward someone, often with a focus on a benefit given to the object"e; (Strong's Greek 5485). Grace is what God does because he is gracious. Every action of God toward us involves his grace. The author's essay in elementary and secondary would never have reflected the story of the man who has to be educated, get married, have five children, and come to live in the United States. But here he is at fifty-seven, writing a biography that mentions everything God has planned for him. That is not all because there are still a lot of hidden parts that will happen before the author meets him in heaven.

Ultimate Deceit is a series of true accounts experienced by the author that takes the reader into a deeper mind-bending world of incredible occurrences. It presents factual events that involve interaction by EBEs (extra biological entities) with human beings-events that even today have been suppressed by world governments and just lately partially disclosed by the US Navy. Read about the author's own experiences related to her own medical examinations, implants, and other experimentation conducted in her organs by other beings!Lately, the Pentagon, through the Defense Department, confirmed that photographs and videos by the military of unidentified aerial phenomena were indeed legitimate images of unexplained objects maneuvering in the skies and seas of our planet. While the author's own experiences were with discoid-type craft, there are many other shapes mentioned in this book, like spheres, cylinders, triangles, and so on, all describing a dazzling array of face-to-face encounters, abductions, sightings, and landings. The author presents undeniable proof that shows carvings and drawings from ancient civilizations that existed thousands of years ago (and that perhaps were even more advanced than ours today) and which depict advanced technologies like flying aircraft, plus figures of humanoid beings, proof literally written in stone! After reading Ultimate Deceit and examining the evidence exposed in the book, readers may be shocked, especially when they reach conclusions and the acceptance of the fact that we are not alone in the universe-for example, considering the scientific Drake equation (ref. the SETI Institute), which is as follows:N = R * fp * ne * fl * fi * fc * LWhereN = the number of broadcasting civilizationsR = average rate of formation of suitable stars (stars/year) in the Milky Way galaxyfp = fraction of stars that form planetsne = average number of habitable planets per starfl = fraction of habitable planets (ne) where life emergesfi = fraction of habitable planets with life where intelligent evolvesfc = fraction of planets with intelligent life capable of interstellar communicationL = years a civilization remains detectable

This is an autobiography of my father, Julio Gomez, who grew up in the rough streets of East Los Angeles, in a much different world than what we have come to know today. He had emptied his soul in his last will and testament before taking his own life on his fifty-eighth birthday and emailed me this book before he went. My brother and I are his legacy, and this is his legend.

Madams of brothels, houses of gambling, rampant government corruption--all these were found in a late 1800s Mormon community. This is the fascinating, well-researched, true history of Two-Bit Street--a street that became known throughout the world for its ladies of the evening and saloons that never closed. The American West''s wildest poured into this small Utah town after it was chosen to be the Junction City for the newly constructed 1869 transcontinental railroad. A history that spans three quarters of a century, this book shows how a pious people can be overpowered by an uncontrollable malignancy of lust. At times inspiring, this book also unveils the struggle between deep corruption and those who wanted this corruption to be destroyed. Infamous Twenty-Fifth Street in Ogden has been named as one of the ten great streets in America because of its past notoriety and its complete contiguous turn-of-the-century commercial architecture which remains as a witness of that colorful past. Lyle J. Barnes is the street''s original historian, and many other authors have quoted his history of Twenty-Fifth Street. With the fine additional research and writing done by Jean Barnes, this second edition makes Lyle''s best-selling history better than ever.
