This is a true story of a man who has spent most of his life in prison due to an unjust system and the struggles and hardships he has faced as a result. Our system is broken, and his story shows you how life changes. He wrote the story to motivate, inspire, and encourage people to stay strong and to not let the people in life or the system break them. Go for what you believe in. It is better to attempt and fail than not attempt at all. Change is possible. People are so used to being told what they can't do, and they begin believing it and don't attempt to do. People need motivation, inspiration, and encouragement. Who better to give this to them than someone who has walked a mile in their shoes. This is what my story is for.
Learning to go potty is a huge milestone in a child's life. When I Get That Feeling Near My Booty works to help children understand that going potty is entirely normal--we all do it! Long ago in an ancient land, a group of nomadic people, without a land to call their own, wished to gain passage through a land of bellicose nations known throughout history as the Moabites and Amorites. To the very unfortunate peoples who happened upon the borders of these barbaric nations, they would ultimately be cut off in battles waged against them, until one dreadful day. Emissaries were dispatched in the hopes of obtaining permission to pass through their land, but instead war broke out and brought an end to those antagonistic nations. The battle was fought on the East Side of the Amon River, in what is now the land of Jordan. Both the Moabites and the Amorites were no match for the nomads, who had endured living in the wilderness and surrounding mountains for almost half-century. Those nomadic people also had possession of a very powerful book, in which all of their victories were recorded. The year in which the battle against the Moabites and Amorites was fought is recorded as 1290 BCE.It is said that the book was given to them from on high, and during battles their leader would simply hold the book up toward heaven, and celestial beings would destroy their enemies. It then became known throughout all the surrounding lands and nations that their God was a powerful being who fought on their behalf. As centuries passed, the use of the book became extinct, and as a result, a high priest set out to hide the book in various parts of the world, so that no one person or nation could harness its power to be used against humanity. In the event that the book was ever needed, the high priest left clues and codes that, once deciphered, would lead to the various hiding places of each part of the book. The world is now facing an enemy that has not been seen since times of old--an enemy far more sinister than can be imagined by the human mind. Now an epic world battle is nearing, and without the book, all will be lost. This story starts simply. It begins with the search for:The Book of the Wars of God
Just Saying is a gathering of short stories, thoughts, and subjects presented in a random format. There is no sequence or timeline to follow. You can start anywhere and even stop in the middle if that's your preference. Or read from beginning to end. That would be my preference, of course. Each piece is meant to stand on its own just like the characters and experiences that inspired this collection.I hope you find something on each page or in each story that will bring you a smile or a tear, an aha moment, or even an "I knew that" confirmation, reassurance, or the simple knowledge that we aren't alone in life's journey.I hope my words do justice to those people and experiences that have shaped and blessed my life.Just saying.
This book is essentially a biography of my uncle. I had always thought of him as a wonderful person, but in the back of my mind, I figured it was just family caring--then I witnessed his memorial service. There were so many people touched by him in life. I had to write about him! He was more than my uncle--he was a good friend, a father figure, a big brother, and a caring individual.
Frank Callas is nobody's fool and everyone's victim. He is a harmless, hapless, and curious young man who has extraordinary experiences at school in Switzerland and in elite levels of British society in the mid-1960s. His curiosity about people makes him vulnerable to other people's whims, and he often suffers the indignation of being out of place. He assumes James Bond posturing occasionally, trying to fool himself that he is something larger than his own reality. He is a clever fellow who uses a tuxedo to disguise his rough edges. He is softhearted but a heartbreaker. His intentions are honorable, but he often trips over the fine points of being an adult. Frank is uncommonly lucky to have a host of friends and girlfriends who are willing to tolerate his haphazard journey into his adulthood. It's hard not to like Frank. He wants so very much to please people.

The first few months of 2020 consisted of a wild ride for most of the world. The spread of the coronavirus, resulting in a pandemic, the subsequent sheltering-in-place orders, and all that followed from economic collapse to violence and unrest are the backdrop of this story. Sheltering in Place exposes that wedge of history parallel with the more personal events going on in Dora Maxwell's life. Life in Maine, it seems, has made a sharp left turn, leaving Dora, if not stunned, at least dismayed. The imploding of the economy is the perfect symbol of the rapid disintegration of life as she knew it. The death of her husband and estrangement from her son are only the beginning. When Dora stumbles onto some bizarre happenings going on under her nose right next door, a mysterious stranger arrives on the scene to help. Jake is a drifter who has luckily wandered into the right place at the right time. When Dora witnesses her next-door neighbor's assault, the action really takes off, but it is the misunderstandings and misperceptions along the way that bring the thrills, chills, and plot twists. Surprises are the order of the day. Be aware that this is Book 1 in a series. There is more excitement to come!
The title of my book, Rhythm of Life, sums up what life has been like for me, a series of ups and downs, much like that of a roller coaster ride. I knew when I began writing the book how the book would end; however, the process of writing the book was altogether different because I wasn't sure what roads I would be traveling to get to the end of the book, hence the book title, Rhythm of Life.
The Best Cellars List is a compilation of short stories from the imagination of Reginald Jeffcoat. Between being a full-time father and husband, this process took more than five years to complete. The Best Cellars List is a roller-coaster joyride through the mind of one of the best authors/storytellers of the twenty-first century, and Reggie hopes you have as much fun reading it as he did writing it.
We rush through our lives in a dervish of daily routine without even noticing our breathing. Just expecting it to remain. I want to change that. I want everyone to notate every moment of their life. Never miss a minute of time that you have been allowed on this planet. Live in the \"now\". Regrets are a waste of time. Portending the future a waste of imagination. Focus on the immediate. Take nothing for granted but enjoy what the day gives us.

In the Bible, it presents the picture of God's love, judgement, mercy, and grace, and when we are faced with that type of perfection, we ask the question how. In John 15:4, Jesus says, "Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me." I asked the question how--one of many questions asked through this walk with the Lord--and the pages of this book is the reply to the question the Lord asked through the Holy Spirit.

Growing up, Emmanuel Williams was taught at an early age that healthy eating was imperative to daily human life, but especially to athletes. As a high school athlete, Emmanuel noticed that when he ate burgers, candy, sodas, and fried foods before his games, his energy level was lower during and after the game. With much advice from his mother, Priscilla, Emmanuel used natural things such as honey and fruits to replace the desire for unhealthy sweets and started a new journey toward a healthy eating lifestyle.Emmanuel had a strong desire to eat cookies, cake, pies, etc. because of its comforting delicacies. However, when he began to see that he needed to discipline himself for a healthy lifestyle going forward, he began researching and asking questions about the best types of eating practices. Instead of eating traditional sweet desserts, Emmanuel began eating bowls of fruit containing grapes, raspberries, strawberries, watermelon, and pineapple, but he especially enjoyed blueberries! When Emmanuel found out that blueberries contain thousands of antioxidants that bring tremendous benefits to the human body and that the taste was excellent, he began to eat them in abundance. After going to college and wanting to help the next generation, Blueberries and Basketball was born!Blueberries and Basketball was inspired in the heart of Emmanuel out of his love for basketball and healthy eating. Through Blueberries and Basketball, Emmanuel seeks to change the narrative of young children around the world that eating healthy is not just for adults and professional athletes, but also for athletes of all ages.

Copper Capers is a humorous account of the experiences, arrests, and the workings of a police department. You can't make this stuff up! Each short story chapter is an incident that becomes an antidote to what would have been a very dull and sometimes dangerous shift. Funny things are said and done by people being chased and caught by the police. For example, the man who adamantly declared, "I'm not taking the Polygram test!" or the woman who stated that she was a hologram are real experiences. This book was meant to invoke a chuckle from those who can relate to some of the stories. But it also provides a look behind the curtain of how police sustain their sanity under immense pressure.
Many of us that like to read are not necessarily interested in books that take up a lot of time getting to the point of what the writer would have the reader experience as one page follows another. For this reason, books that contain short stories fill a category allowing the reader to put as little or as much time in reading that time allows. This best describes the articles found in this work, The Fall of a Lying Nation. This nation was established by God in the same sense the children of Israel were established, placing them in the promised land flowing with milk and honey. There is no denying the fact that the parallels of these two nations are similar. In the case with Israel, the Bible gives a recorded history of its long existence even to its first inception. The Bible also prophesied its destruction, saying, "Therefore shall Zion for your sakes be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps" (Micah 3:12). God suffered long with His people and was very patient with the seed of Abraham. In the same way, our Father in heaven has been slow to wrath in dealing with the moral decline of this nation as truth is rejected, not just spiritually but now secularly, as a lying nation fills up their cup, awaiting God's indignation. This same God allowed Israel to cease as a nation in AD 70 because righteousness wasn't important to its people or its leaders. This is where we are as a nation. "And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter" (Isaiah 59:14). Truth has had a hard struggle in the church for many years. Now that struggle has taken to the streets. Equity is righteousness.
