DON'T LET THEM KNOW YOU'RE SCARED" - VALERIAN'S GARDEN A year ago, industrial-goth band Valerian's Garden exploded into the mainstream, seemingly out of nowhere. Their nonstop touring, incendiary live performances, and down - to - earth personalities have turned them into the darlings of the music world; their lead singer, Angel, in particular. For the first time ever, their reclusive, introverted front woman tells the complete story of how the five musicians found each other and set out on their journey. She'll talk about the friends they've made and those they've left behind - and will explore, in depth, what the journey has cost.
The author, Jamshed Mathur, nick-named Jimmy, was born and educated in India as a Chemical Engineer. His book covers his parentage, childhood, education, job-hunting, followed by 15 years working in India, emigration, and 30 years of work in the United States. His focus is primarily on people and brief histories of places where he worked and of products he handled. He belongs to a family which at one time had three brothers who were ambassadors of India, so there is an interesting look at their lives. The book closes with a chapter on an unusual Swiss woman he married.
"Suurya" is a story based on my life experiences narrated through the protagonist, Suurya. The novel includes an account of my life as a child in undivided India, an eye witness account of the partition of the country in 1947 and of the struggle of refugees in Delhi, in its aftermath. The story follows Suurya through his trials and tribulations of growing up in turbulent, uncertain times as he moves away from his roots, while in his heart he never really gets very far.
In Renewing the Balance, Dirk Dunbar shows how the balance worshipped in ancient Earth wisdom traditions is being integrated into Western culture's dominantly masculine, rational value system. Filled with hope, revelations regarding cultural evolution, and scholarship of the highest order, Dunbar's book passionately challenges all of us to recover the archaic reverence for the natural world, to reconsider the limits of growth, progress, and mechanistic thinking, and to join in the newly reclaimed celebration of life that fosters peace and the potential for a sustainable future. "Dirk Dunbar's Renewing the Balance is a crucial and comprehensive account of how traditional cultures maintained a healthy balance that preserved our natural world and how our modern technocratic, economic ideology has produced a culture that is dangerously out of balance. It is at once a diagnosis of our dis-ease and a prescription for healing our collective psyche, polis, and environment. A truly fascinating philosophical adventure."~Sam Keen (Author of 12 books, including The Passionate Life and Hymns to an Unknown God)"Renewing the Balance brings depth and breadth to our efforts to understand how Western culture evolved as it did and to appreciate the many streams that now flow into our efforts to manifest ecological wisdom in a hypermodern world."~Charlene Spretnak (Author of 9 books, including States of Grace and The Resurgence of the Real)
Control and chaos, two mediums at opposing ends of the arc of humanity's morality. Precipitating Sedition explores the onset of both, as one transitions to another. It is a character study that questions ambition, obligation, morality, ideology, collectivism, and the methods employed in the use of power. It is more than merely the path of a perilous journey, but rather the precarious obstructions that the path is beset by, and the angst of the choices of survival and principle.

It's all right with me if you think yourself some kinda mystery; I'm just saying take it down the road. This book is all about you and those around you, though I know neither you nor those around you. How is that? We all do pretty much the same things, and so, most idiocies are so common they hardly seem idiotic until brought to our attention. I'm bringing you to your attention. I do it; you do it; they do it. Yes, everyone does little things that unless they're deliberately playing the fool, they're better off not doing, but they do, and often amusing or irritating the rest of us- including and especially you. This social satire consists of over a hundred narratives and anecdotes: faux pas that we encounter; participate and witness on a daily basis. Whereas social blunders aren't meant to make you laugh, this book is guaranteed to. In addition, nothing is more comical than being forced to laugh at yourself; you will see you here and you will laugh, perhaps never knowing before now: you are so amusing.
