Who were the Johnsons, anyway? If asked, most members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are not familiar with the John Johnson family. However, two of his sons, a son-in-law and a nephew were all members of the first Council of Twelve Apostles organized by Joseph Smith, the Church's founder. John served in some of the governing councils of the Church as well and contributed significantly to the building of the Church's first temple. In these pages you will learn of the significant contribution of this family and the truth about their standing in that church.

The book gives you an early insight of what came to be in the Caribbean due to old English rule and piracy. It tells the tale a Jack Sparrow who is a pirate descended from English heritage which ultimately issues his demise. Due to the blessed nature of his being, many years later his spirit seem to have resurfaced in modern times. There is no certainty that Jack have truly returned, however the stigma that drove the times to the pivotal leap into a heretic future seem to be looming. Jack takes us on a journey from his demise to his second coming, which seems more like a nostalgic awakening. Enter the modern day where a young man named Jermaine seemingly intelligent enough to enter college and unfortunate enough to have an ghastly aura. The young man seems to know what is to become of the future, but his millennial birth may have been the waning curse brought up him. His love interest doesn''t share the same feelings, but there is a side to her that pulls Jack from deep within him.
A Book of Hmmms; an amusement park for the mind, is a place to go for a few hours, where virtually everyone can find something they enjoy while taking a break from everyday demands. The book is a collection of thoughts, ideas, anecdotes, stories, quotes, questions, observations, and essays, ranging from downright silly to thought provoking. It began many years ago with the first entry on page one (seriously, why IS 'Jack' a nickname for 'John'?) and grew to a point at which I had to get it out of my mind, and off of the various sticky notes, five cent spiral notebook pages, and random scraps of paper (including junk mail envelopes and those tiny convenience store receipts) on which it was written - and ultimately into book form. I think it is best in small doses; a few pages, or a chapter at a time. Reading it all at once, for me, would be like staying on the roller coaster for ten rides in a row, without ever getting off to see the rest of the park. My stomach isn't that strong but if that appeals to you , go for it! My preference is the Ferris Wheel approach, which affords a leisurely view while waiting for the chairs to exchange occupants one at a time. Either way, you are always free to revisit your favorite attractions. Beyond entertainment, my ulterior motive is to vicariously enjoy the imagined vocal utterances many of the entries are intended to provoke. I've yet to meet a reader who has not chuckled or said (or at least thought) "hmm," "uh-huh," "oh, yeah!" or "eww," for example. (Would you like to learn how to kill flies with your bare hands?) Those responses and their many cousins are part of the reason I chose to share some of my thoughts, feelings, secrets, dreams, and fears with the rest of humanity; a slice of my contribution to the world. And (never start a sentence with a preposition - oops, too late!) perhaps with a book to put on my shelf, I can justifiably declare myself an author and move on to other long awaited projects. As det

In her first major case, she stumbles into a tangled web of powerful and often violent forces who will stop at nothing - including murder - to see her fail.
Ephesians is the pinnacle of all doctrine to the Church of Christ. Ephesians teaches the Christian what it means to be a part of the family of God. Ephesians is the epistle that brings the Church together as one body in Christ. This is an evidence based view of the seven doctrinal treatises (Ephesians 1:1-3:14) of the greatest revelation to the church. Each verse is carefully examined in light of language and customs of the day and figures of speech. The Epistle to the Church at Ephesus is a perfectly balanced epistle with seven doctrinal and seven practical treatises. A Divine authorship is evident throughout. An expanded translation of each verse provides a summation of the study of each individual verse. This book was originally written as a Doctoral Dissertation in Biblical Philology.
Love won - then set aside through gallantry, self-sacrifice, and loyalty to a divided country! Ebenezer fingered the point of his bayonet as he watched the early morning''s light creep slowly across the sky. Not a breeze stirred the leaves on the trees, not a bird was to be seen or heard. Men snoring as they slept on the ground nearby, squirrels scampering upon the ground stealing any food that had been overlooked or left out in the open, Ebenezer saw all this and smiled as he dug the toe of his right boot into the dirt. This Virginia soil was not anything like the soil on his homestead back in Vermont. In Vermont he''d have instantly turned up black soil, rich and dark and begging to be farmed. Here the soil was just the opposite, bland and lifeless. It was really nothing more than just simply dirt. Ebenezer could imagine his homestead as he saw it for the first time; a forested hillside area with lots of potential. His mind had planned out where he would build his cabin for the best breeze in the summer and the best protection from the winter winds, where he could watch the sunrise from the front porch and the sunset from the back porch. He visually walked around looking for the fresh spring where his water needs would be met and where he would house his animals. All this, while close in his memories, was far away from this battle site. With thoughts of family foremost in his head, he sat down to write a letter to his darling wife, Remembrance.....
This book is like no other you have read. You will find it intriguing and inspirational. You are taken on a unique journey of a man, Karl, faced with remarkable struggles, and his personal walk with God to help him survive. The story begins with the conflict of his religious upbringing and sexual orientation. Raised in a traditional Baptist faith which vehemently objects gays, he struggles to find meaning in life beginning at just eight years old. Pressure from his family to be the "perfect" child compounds his struggle, leaving him broken and confused. In an ironic parallel of homophobia and bigotry, Karl seeks acceptance for being gay as his parents once sought acceptance for being African American. He decides to leave home to establish his own identity and meets David, a powerhouse who takes him on a magic carpet ride of discovery and self-acceptance. Wise men say only fools rush in, but Karl doesn't listen. He is hungry for love and adventure but ends up with a little more than he bargained for. David's mix of sugar and spice takes Karl's breath away, and he builds his life around the most unique man he has ever met. Soon afterwards, Karl makes a best friend, Sam, and the trio develops a family based on unconditional love. The tie that binds them is their hunger to be loved simply as they are and not what others want them to be. What makes their story special is that they learn to love themselves notwithstanding the rejection of others and without the support of their families. From out of nowhere, tragedies strike that nearly destroy Karl to his core. He suddenly encounters a life he no longer recognizes and halts at the crossroad to destruction. Completely on his own, he struggles to reconcile his past from his future. The only thing he has is the faith he fostered as a little boy - which still conflicts with his adult identity. He is rescued by Robert, a chivalrous man. Like a broken doll and a damaged bird, Robert delicately pieces Karl back toge
