Up until a year ago Naomi's life had been pretty amazing! She had good friends and a great "bestie". She loved her school and her church, and her family was pretty great, too. All- in- all she felt lucky to have such a blessed life. Naomi also held a great secret that no one knew about; Naomi's family had a Gift that had been passed from one generation to the next which enabled Naomi to enter into an alternate reality through her dreams. A "DreamScape" literally transported the Dreamer into an awesome, custom-made, everything your heart desires adventure! Naomi's mother, Caroline, was a Dreamer and her mother before her. Naomi truly had a very special family. Then....the unthinkable happened which plunged Naomi into a darkness that threatened to destroy the very fabric of her life. Overnight, Naomi changed. She became fearful and un-trusting. She pulled herself away from everything good in her life. Unseen forces in her life were at work preparing Naomi for her greatest challenges. Would the magic of a DreamScape be enough to save her from the darkness threatening the very existence of her Dreams and of her Gift?

This story is about a young black boy's perception of life in Memphis, Tennessee during the late forties and early fifties. Emphasis is on the absence of his father and mother and centers on his grandfather's control of him and the surplus of his grandmother's clout. He lives with his father's parents and presumes his parents have forsaken him. Old people influence his every move and he needs friends his age. Children his age do not like him because he acts like old people. Extreme experiences in the classroom, on the playground, on trips, in church and on visits to relatives whom he does not relate with have a vast effect on him. Most of his time is spent listening to, watching for, and waiting on things he is too young to hear or see. This allegory gives an account of men of African descent who are not Barack Obamas or Colin Powells. These two extraordinary Black men are inside mainstream America; ordinary black men should not be kept outside. This chronicle must be heard to help actualize our country's chance to bridge the racial watershed. Fears flourishing in white and black sub-societies of our nation that render black males invisible can be set to rest. An understanding of this youth's perceptions of race relations can help narrow the racial divide that plagues America. Troubled children and adults who had troubled childhoods can relate to this story and take solace in knowing they are not alone. Those more favored can be enlighten to develop an appreciation for the emotions and motivations of those frown upon. The reader will realize that against each and every stumbling block liberation of and inclusion of groups who have fallen between the cracks created by closed-mindedness is unshackling and supports solidarity for our society at large, also there is hope that a tiny timid young black boy will survive.

Pirouettes in the Moonlight-poetry that explores the complexity of the turmoil that is life and celebrates the persistence of humanity in its quest for truth, justice, love and understanding. Some works in the collection are disquieting. Some are inspiring. Epitaphs and dirges mingle with songs of faith, hope, and wonder. All join in life's endless dance as each invigorated spirit pirouettes gracefully in the moonlight and then dances on. The Katanga is rooted in Africa during the 1960s independence period and the ultimate failure of an attempt for an alternative to colonialism or despotism. It's failure is a sad commentary on international political leadership. Many historians look back on this unique approach as a last ditch attempt to prove that a white/black democracy might be successful. In The Katanga, two young and naïve but very skilled American mercenaries enter the arena and quickly grow into seriously respected strategists as the political and military roles begin to merge. They become equipped with advanced long range rifles and distance measuring devices and make a huge contribution in quieting down native tribes taking advantage of the political vacuum as well as stifling some cold war meddlers. During integration into The Katanga society, they find their future wives and hope that they too could be a part of The Katanga's future. But it was all for nil, as world opinion and racial politics defeated the effort in favor of defending national boundaries that date back to the 1880s as a part of colonial rule. For our Americans, the exit is both dangerous and very fragile, but ultimately successful. The Katanga generally follows events of the era including the death of the U.N. Secretary General in a plane crash, an event still being investigated. Some need to be reminded that The Katanga is a novel!

Strong ultimately discovers life is a collection and connection of daunting and beautiful events, destined to be told through fated human encounters. She finds that living through the ugliness and beauty, aided by the telling of the stories, held the solution her soul needed to love and forgive. It is through this process that Strong feels the sting of life, accepts the pain in it, and understands the lessons of it, which eventually guides her into a place of soulful healing.

The Impetus for the INSPIRATION. Whitney and I came together one day to discuss the possibilities of penning an open letter to women. A women's meditational book. Mega-church Pastor, Robb Barker, is possessed by a powerful demon and its helpers. He had carelessly invited the demon into his soul as a means of gaining power and control over the church board. He travels to his childhood home, his college and seminary campuses and to the churches he first pastored. In each locale he goes through the process of attempting to free himself. In response, the cunning demon summons supernatural help and demonic attacks begin on Robb's wife and daughters. From Disneyland to the Grand Canyon to the Colorado Rockies the demonic attacks continue mercilessly. Finally Robb realizes he must go to the site of the original sin, the Garden of Eden to confront his ancient enemy and most formidable foe. What is the Church? What is it supposed to be? If the New Testament is to be accepted as the basis for the Church's definition, what we must know is this. When its Founder Jesus Christ described his Church, He described it as "one" Church. He further insisted that his Church should be unified-and unified in a visible fashion. His Apostles would then reinforce Jesus' teaching in their numerous writings. Given both the Source and the substance of these criteria, therefore, as long as the Church fails or refuses to aspire to this standard, whatever it may be, it has no ground for laying claim to being Christ's Church! The Church's Charter is an endeavor to recall the Protestant Church to its Christ-mandated and apostolically-sanctioned model. It calls on the churches to exorcise from their separate sanctuaries the plethora of man-made doctrines and practices which have proven to be so divisive and so inimical to the One Church's purity and effectiveness, and to receive and affirm the apostolic pattern as it is set forth in the New Testament in order to discover the basis of its intended unity.
