  • - One Woman's Journey with Multiple Sclerosis
    av Christine Ganger
    200,-

Christine started out life running. Active in softball, cheerleading and any other sport she could find time to fit in her schedule, she trusted her young, lean body to carry her through exciting and wonderful adventures. But when her body turned on her, it would force her to make a critical decision: give up or else. Christine chose "or else," and shares her story of a journey into Multiple Sclerosis and her daily decision to survive. Giving up was always a temptation, because living with MS is a battle that never ends; and a body just gets tired. Christine shares some very raw and personal moments throughout this book and how she manages to work through them, all the while keeping her focus on God's plan for her life and the hope and peace that can be found in Him. Walk of Hope reveals the mind and heart of a Multiple Sclerosis survivor, and how hope can make the mind and heart overcome the physical body for anyone experiencing similar physical disabilities.

Over 140 years ago, the United States Cavalry battled elements of the Sioux and Cheyenne Nations. They fought over the land, the right to live in peace and a lifestyle handed down through generations. The United States under President Grant had other ideas for the land and its people. Three military units with over twenty seven hundred soldiers, civilians and four hundred Crow and Shoshone Scouts marched against an Indian encampment on the Little Big Horn River. On June 17th, 1876, General Crook commanded fifteen troops of the 2nd and 3rd cavalry, seven troops of the 4th and 9th infantry with two hundred and fifty Scouts into the headwaters of Rosebud Creek. They were met by the world's finest light cavalry, two thousand Sioux and Cheyenne Warriors. The battle lasted over six hours. Lives were lost. Yet out of this battle many heroic deeds came about. It is still known today as, "The fight where the sister who saved her brother".

A cold winter morning. A woman shivering before a fireplace. A sheriff's car waiting outside. Too young to understand her mother's depression and need for treatment, the narrator can only look on: "Before the door closed, I got a glimpse of the long, black car with its plumes of exhaust and my parents in the backseat." Tracing one strand of ancestry from the Mayflower and another from sixteenth century Paris to Appalachia, the stage is set for a compelling read, told first through the eyes of an observant child in a world of troubled adults and later through an adolescent who juggles "normal" teenage life with a host of personal demons. As a young woman, she throws away the chance of a lifetime. When a second chance comes along, she makes full use of it, realizing by then that her story is the story of a generation, of other women, just like her: None of us had galloped as we pleased across open fields or reveled in a freedom that defied our gender's history. But we had made it one step closer to goal. The luckiest and most persistent among us would eventually complete the journey, but not without a look over the shoulder and a memory of restraints taken on before we knew we could run like the wind. Vignettes, stand-alone stories, observations and reflections are woven together by a strong narrative voice. Consistently fast-paced and entertaining despite its troubling themes.

Sheree Ryan longs for excitement in her life. She also knows her boyfriend, Keith Spencer, is definitely hiding something. Determined to find out what it is, when she discovers he is attending a Medieval Faire she does what any 21st century woman would do - she follows him. Ex-art thief Keith Spencer's deal to work undercover for Interpol is almost over; if he recovers the stolen Rousseau jewels, he gains a full pardon. He also knows that helping his partner on this case may cost him that pardon. The last thing he needs now is his girlfriend showing up, especially when he has never told her his real name or what he actually is. Sheree's decision throws her into a dizzying mix of jousting and black market jewels, stolen Nazi treasure and dashing cavaliers, fortune telling, love potions, and knights in shining armor. It is a world of dangerous high stakes espionage, treachery and revenge, where nothing and no one is what they seem, and where the only person she can really trust is herself. Be careful what you wish for is a hard lesson to learn and one Sheree vows never to forget. That is, if she survives learning it.

  • - The Story of a Hunting Family and the Mountain They Love
    av Gerry Kennedy
    221

Gerry was a city kid, growing up in Philadelphia. She moved with her family to rural southern New Jersey when she was thirteen, and discovered the joy of hunting with her dad. When she met Wes, they were both delighted to find someone who shared their love for the outdoors. They married and raised six daughters and two sons. The kids were raised with an appreciation of all things related to the outdoor sports; hunting, fishing, hiking, boating. They were taught firearm safety, and all attended the state's safety classes and passed with high marks. They learned orienteering so they could safely find their way in and out of any piece of woods. Gerry and Wes had dreamed often of a deer hunt in Maine. In their thirties, they made it happen. They went to Maine and fell in love...with a mountain! Over the years they've shared that "Love of place" with their family and many friends. For nearly half a century, they've hunted, fished, canoed, climbed, hiked, ice fished, snowmobiled, picnicked, and camped, enjoying the area on and around Misery Ridge. Gerry penned this book to honor her soulmate, and to leave something of them both for their children and grandchildren to remember and enjoy. She also hopes that by writing this book, she may influence other women and girls to realize the experiences and enjoyment that a day afield can bring, and inspire them to join the many thousands of women across the country who share really good times with friends and family.

Life can be crazy! So, in 2016, I chose to embrace my "crazy" and use my blessed and beautiful bedside table book to profess..."I am a HOT MESS!" Yup...I said it, rock it and OWN IT! Now, being an Actress, Life Coach and Dating Expert in the public eye, some may think I am really "crazy" sharing this with the world! I know some of you are thinking (and, judging!) that a Board Certified Life and Dating Coach, professional and working actress should not "air her dirty laundry." Well, I cannot tell you how good it feels to be self-aware enough to admit and embrace my "flaws". Along with my strengths, my "flaws" and weaknesses make me vulnerable, special and unique. I also believe that by sharing my HOT MESS quirks with you, it will support you in embracing your HOT MESS quirks, too! Let's break the 'rules' and stop chasing "perfection". It gets tiring trying to be "perfect" all the time, doesn't it? I have felt a great sense of joy and accomplishment writing this and I only hope that something I share on the pages to come, helps, supports or inspires you in some way. There is something valuable in these pages for everyone. You will find advice and tips for Life, Love, Female Empowerment, LGBT Support, Self-esteem, Body Image, Bullying, Ageism, Dating and Online Dating. If one thing I coach helps you, this was worth all the frustration. If you only read one chapter that speaks to you, this was worth it. If you keep this book on your bedside table to turn to when you need a tip or reminder, this was worth it. If you learn to love your body, no matter what number is on the scale, this was worth it. If you learn to face your fears, this was worth it. If you feel compelled to get back out there and date after a breakup or divorce, this was worth it. If you choose to try online dating, this was worth it. If you learn to honor yourself and your choices, no matter what (flaws and all!), this was worth it. And, last, but not least, if you
