Venna's Planet is the story of a woman who yearns to settle on a new world instead of taking part in a futile space war with the krogs - alleged aliens who dispute the Earth people's claim to it. However, on a routine mission, she is lured off course, and crash-lands in a less than hospitable region of Promise (the name given to the planet). She later learns that this otherwise Utopian world is home to terrifying monsters with tentacles, poisonous fangs, and unfriendly dispositions... and at least one tribe of murderous inhabitants who are very unhappy about the invaders from Earth - but worse threats come from some of her fellow humans. Our heroine undergoes many perils, including being subjected to a diabolical process intended to deprive her of her very humanity.Nobody knows the whole truth about Promise. Venna knows only that terrible dangers hide within its beauty, but she will face any horror to reveal some of its secrets, and to protect the friends who follow her.Venna's Planet takes for some its inspiration, pre-war movie serials, and vintage science fiction pulp cover art. Glamour is favoured over realism of any kind, and Venna spends much of the story in minimal dresses and bikinis; however, this is usually outside her control, and one should not consider her to be in any way immodest. She suffers many tribulations but refuses to be embittered by the dreadful things that happen to her on this troubled planet that she hopes one day will become her home. She always bounces back and carries on.Venna's Planet: Special Edition - Volume One is a complete overhaul and expansion of the original Venna's Planet Book One, Broken Promise. Venna's creator Robin Grenville Evans has dedicated a whole year to this project, with much of the original artwork redrawn, dialogue rewritten, and many new scenes added; the collected newspaper strip format has been abandoned in favour of dynamic framing, which gives the action scenes more breathing space. The speech balloons and font size are all larger - and the entire book is now in glorious full colour.Venna's Planet: Special Edition Volumes Two and Three are currently in progress.

What Started as a Love Matchlit the fire of a Thirty-year War.In 1828, the beautiful Rosina Wheeler married one of Victorian England's most successful and prolific writers, Edward Bulwer-Lytton. What followed shocked and entertained the public for over thirty years. After their marriage broke down, Rosina refused to be silenced. She pursued her husband with a single-minded and very public crusade to prove she was in the right. She even interrupted her husband's election campaign to denounce him to the assembled voters. Edward responded by threatening to have her committed to a lunatic asylum. But that was only the beginning. This fantastic novel from award-winning author Stephen Wyatt draws freely on Edward and Rosina's own words. Both have a convincing story to tell - except that they seem to disagree about absolutely everything...
