पथ के पंथ (vistas and beyond) found its existence in the flow of random yet purposeful thoughts between the mind and the pen. The collection of poems written as a hobby in my diary came together as a book by sheer persuasion by my husband Pushp. The book पथ के पंथ touches various aspects of life. Being in the presence of a Guru, the search for a soul-mate, the power of thoughts and virtues of truth, charity, appreciation and acceptance. All the poems are penned down from thoughts that have taken shape while reading religious texts or heard in the sermons of the Guru. Every poem has two aspects, one that deals with the outside world and the other that searches for a meaning within. An inclination towards the Guru, the inner light and a path that leads to the ultimate goal of life find a place in nearly all the poems in varied expressions. The collection of 18 poems in Hindi have a prose attached to each in English and Hindi to enable the reader a clearer understanding of the essence of the poem.

Prof. CNR Rao is a living legend. Einstein paid a compliment to Mahatma Gandhi on his 70th birthday. He said "Generations to come, it may well be, will scarce believe that such a man as this one ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth". At Prof. Rao's 85th birthday, I would like to repeat these words.Prof. Rao is not an individual, he is an institution, he is a phenomenon. I feel lucky that our generations could see him, touch him, feel him, experience him, learn from him and get inspired by him.I have watched Prof. Rao as a scientist, as a science leader, as a science institution builder and indeed as a leader of leaders of science. I have also watched him as a wonderful warm hearted human being with abundance of empathy. I have seen his child like enthusiasm. I have watched him as `courage personified'.Dr. R.A. 'Global Adverse Manifestation' has been created to the maximum extent of catastrophic and humongous disasters throughout India, and it is 'manmade', which is unfortunate. Similarly, all other greenhouse gas emissions are generated in excess by the floccinaucinihilipilification activities of Homo sapiens causing humongous disasters. If we conduct a detailed study, most of these disasters are also attributed by coercive practices of the ecosystem and the Government without getting concurrence from the public. Man-Made Catastrophic and Humongous Global Disasters delineates hurricanes, cyclones, hail storms, typhoons, tornados, landslides, flood havocs, droughts, fire hazards, etc. as natural disasters caused due to climate change. Therefore, it is our responsibility to keep a pollution-free country for the survival of human beings from catastrophic and humongous disasters.
