Collin Gow, C.N.C. is a renaissance man. Before focusing his career on health, nutrition, and writing, Collin spent 10 years as a teenager and young adult passionately pursuing art. Creating has always made him feel better than anything else in life. This book is an assemblage of the artworks done by Collin throughout those creative years and beyond. Collin's art encompasses a multitude of styles, including crummy, outsider, sketchy, primitive, ignorant, shitty, scratch, gonzo, street, cartoon, abstract, graphic, graffiti, pop, ball-point pen, rollerball, pencil, stencil, and portrait art. Many mediums have been used by Collin as well and can be seen in this book. Collin's art is generally aphoristic, inspirational, and rebellious, often with meaningful quotations appearing in it, and it covers subjects such as philosophy, genius, greatness, art, happiness, love, relationships, studying, music, movies, kids, skateboarding, holistic health, nutrition, fitness, nature, naturevore, naturotheology, astrology, astrotheology, numerology, science, math, sacred geometry, quantum physics, psychology, spirituality, ancient knowledge, and more. Similarities could be pointed out between Collin's art and the art of Daniel Johnston, Mark Gonzales, Shel Silverstein, Ralph Steadman, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and/or Tai Taeoalii. Other heroes or influences include Picasso, Kandinsky, Michelangelo, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Ian Gow, James Rise, Andy Warhol, Chuck Close, Leonardo Da Vinci, Jackson Pollock, and Salvador Dali. Collin pales in comparison to these greats, but he is confident that the shear amount, uniqueness, profundity, depth, and meaningfulness of his art, stacked alongside his myriad other accomplishments, will be held in high regard by those who come after him. Enjoy his beautiful, deep, whacky, thoughtful, unique, mind-expanding, shitty, quirky, inspirational, philosophical, and versatile creations.
"A soon to be cult classic on the true origins of Christmas and Santa Claus as rooted in Norse mythology, the Sami people of the Arctic circle, and the celebration of the Winter Solstice!" -Erke Frisk "A fun new holiday tradition reminding us of the spiritual importance of the sun and sacred medicines.">"A revival of a forgotten culture and a rival to Tim Burton's "The Nightmare Before Christmas"." -Jack Prost "An ethnographic and ethnomycological study of Christmas past, clothed in interesting art and a magical tale. It both pays homage to the original poem by Clement Moore and blazes a new trail." -Unni Veikkanen "This book brings back the rich meaning of a now empty holiday that was stolen by religion, secularism, and commercialism." -Daisy Harshbarger "An artfully drawn and well-researched bridge between Norse Folklore and modern-day traditions. It makes festive a dark winter night and gives us a connection to our ancestors." -Janet Guess "Calling all pagans, wiccans, hippies, sun-gazers, psychonauts, astrologers, astrotheologers, metaphysicians, mycophiles, esotericists, shamans, shintoists, yogis, astronomers, spiritualists, festival goers, cultural psychologists, Norwegians, Swedes, Finns, Russians, Laplanders, Greenlanders, Koryaks, Alaskans, reindeer herders, circumpolar peoples, and nature-lovers...This is your book! This is what you should be reading on Christmas." -Emily Saunik "Santa was a shaman and he delivered gifts of medicinal fungi!" -Nick Ritzenhein "Light and Dark are perhaps the oldest source of religious motifs there are. I'm so glad there's a holiday book out there that reminds us all of that." -Reyansh Agarwal "The man has invented his own nature religion! And I'm likely a new convert." -James Codi "Move over Christmas, lets bring back Yule, Saturnalia, and Solstice!" -Reese Collins
