THE GIRAFFE AND 4 MORE STORIES (The Zebra, The Camel, Monkeys and More Monkeys, Seals and Walruses). Through the art of personification, these animals talk about their experiences in their natural habitats and their transition to a zoo where they now live as captives, and about their relationships with humans. Some describe how they lived before being captured, and the assumption is that they were captured to be sold to zoos in various parts of the world, and to pair them up with other similar animals that were already confined. Personification of these animals is effective because we can see both the physical and emotional harm. They are first person witnesses when they see their parents, brothers, sisters, and friends' hardships to defend themselves from being captured and transported to unknown places far from their families.

TRANSFORMED: The Winning Side of Losing is the personal journey of professional basketball player Marie Ferdinand-Harris. The book delves deep into challenges she faced while striving to evolve as an individual, and it could be aptly summarized as, "Developed as a player; neglected as a person." This story details the journey of one player who was schooled primarily for the court. Then, in post-athletic years, she struggled with catching up in personal, spiritual, and professional elements of her character, watching many opportunities pass her by because she was ill-equipped to recognize them. Her story sheds light on her failure to recognize the existence of an inclusive life beyond being an athlete. It shares her experiences and insights in hopes that athletes will focus on well-rounded lifestyles as they learn "the game."

G¿Day Mate! Dear reader, Thank you very much for purchasing this photobook. My name is Vojtech Zalcik and I am a Czech photographer. I have been taking photographs for over 20 years. This black and white photobook containing 88 photos offers my personal view on what to see in Sydney, Australiäs largest city. The country is also known as the "land down under" because it is located in the Southern Hemisphere. Nicknames of Sydney include the "Harbour City" and the "Emerald City". The residents of Sydney are known as "Sydneysiders". The must see places include the Sydney Opera House, Sydney Harbour, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Darling Harbour, Royal Botanic Garden, the Rocks, Art Gallery of New South Wales or the Queen Victoria Building (QVB). On top there are Bondi, Manly, Coogee or Cronulla beaches. Do not forget to go to Hyde Park, Circular Quay, Watsons Bay, Sydney Tower, North Sydney and the shops around George and Pitt Streets or any of the great restaurants, pubs, bars or coffee shops. Public transportation is very comfortable, you should definitely try a ferry ride. Sydney also hosted the 2000 Summer Olympics. I hope you will like these photos of Sydney - a city that creates memories that last for a lifetime. Thank you! With best regards, Vojtech Zalcik

In this author's debut, Sh'Kia draws from her experiences growing up in a small town in Florida and her fascination with A Writer's Diary by Virginia Woolf, The Vagina Monologues, and For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf to express the inner thoughts most black women may never get to share out loud in these almost entirely untrue short stories. "Quiet Storms of a Flawda Girl's Diary" is a collection of 13 short stories where girls of the 20th and 21st centuries profess their most provocative passions and irreverent notions in writing about their seemingly pedestrian lives in Florida's sunny, muggy, obscure neck of the woods. In these bizarre, titillating, and forthright stories, you'll experience the recollections of a church girl's unrest with fornication, a female rapper's rocky road to the billboard charts, a vexatious pregnancy journey, a turbulent quest to marriage, a First Lady's disconcerting crusade at a new church, a Grandmother's exorcism and more!Available Formats: **Jacketed Case Laminate Hardcover; ISBN 9798988972525; 212 pages; 5.5" x 8.5"- Case Laminate Hardcover; ISBN 9798988972501; 214 pages; 5.5" x 8.5"- Paperback: ISBN 9798988972518; 214 pages; 5.5" x 8.5"- eBook: ISBN 9798988972532; 216 pages

He quickly realized he didn't have a chance of succeeding in Court without the able assistance of several bright and accomplished women, all of whom were a significant presence in his life. His world will never be the same again. Winston Williamson grapples with the realization that his personal life has become a fraud, while professionally, he's always been an imposter as the head of his father's law firm.Trapped in a profession he felt coerced into, Winston's cynicism deepens as his actions lead him down a path of moral and ethical decay. He battles his private demons: distant from his ailing father and unfaithful to his fading wife, struggling to cope with their deteriorating health. Simultaneously, jealousy fueled by his sense of inadequacy threatens his relationships within the firm.As he approaches a point of no return, Winston must decide whether to cross it or not, both in his professional and personal life. But has that moment already passed? Is redemption, or something akin to it, still possible? --"Author Rodney Nelsestuen has created a memorable central character who, for all of his many flaws, will eventually garner some sympathy from even the most hard-hearted reader. QUIET DESPERATION is a slim novella written in the first person and charting the disgruntled interior life of its protagonist, Winston Williamson, a reluctant lawyer and perpetual cynic. Williamson's inner emotional turbulence is compelling..." his "ultimate self-reckoning is a...case of negligence and embezzlement that may be about to trigger the collapse of his company... the ending (though intriguingly inconclusive) centers Williamson's moment of truth and rewards the reader's patience." - Kent Lane for Indie Reader
