Ever since I was little, I had a strong desire to smell everything around me. My fascination with scents and aromas led me to study aromatherapy. As a diligent learner, I quickly became acquainted with the volatile pure essences. As I continued to experiment with both single and blended essences, I observed that the fragrances I used had a noticeable impact on my overall mood, for instance, a single essence or a blend of essential oils can change, trigger or enhance various emotions and sensations.Definition: I use the word essence as a reference to the sentient consciousness of essential oils.As I learned and experimented more, I realized that I wasn't just dealing with plant chemistry and molecules, but the pure essence of the essential oil I was studying. Years of working as an aromatherapist practitioner taught me that taking a meditative and ritualistic approach while handling essential oils can elevate my blending skills to a higher level. My experiments with different essential oil blends led me to the understanding that when mixing/blending certain essences together, something unique and magical can happen. It is not just that our mood is changing, but there is a shift in our consciousness and with the right atmosphere, a meditative kind of ritual - a bath in our case, we can enter through the doors of perception and experience altered states of mind, albeit subtle ones.As part of my initiation into AMOOKOS, an East-West Kaula Mystery School, I dedicated a big chunk of my studies to learning about the Kala sequence. Kala, meaning part, perhaps "lunar perfume or flower". Each Kala corresponds to a different phase of the moon, and a different body part. It didn't take long for the concept of 'Lunar Perfume' to evolve to a whole new way of working with the Kala sequence. In the second part of the book, I deal with the Eight Witches Sabbaths of the Ritual Year and how they resonate with the Eight Magics and the corresponding colours and scented essences.

Seth is an ancient Egyptian deity, much maligned in popular, academic and theological thought. Up until fairly recently the only thing one needed to know about Seth was that he was the personification of evil and the prototype of the devil and Satan and all bad things in the world. He is the god who in one of the world's most ubiquitous myths, kills another god, his own brother Osiris no less, then usurps his role as king, persecuting the orphaned Horus who only survives to manhood, due to the cunning of his sorcerer mother Isis. Horus then overpowers Seth and ensures he gets his just deserts. This book explores the mythos of the god and various ways of seeing him; these may even appear antithetical, as is encapsulated in what is sometime known as "The Nagada Hypothesis" which stands in contrast to the consensus that Seth was always a malign deity. Topics covered include historical views of Seth such as Plutarch's Anti-God; Modern views of Seth; The Outsider: Gods of Sex and Death; The Two Ways. Includes extensive liturgy, ritual and appendices such as the Seven Spells of Nekhbet - a fantastic piece of battle magic in which the ancient Vulture Goddess enlists the power of Seth to protect Egypt's borders. Also a discussion of Apophis, an ancient personification of evil, who is often confused with Seth. cover: Horus & Seth blessing the King, Pharaoh Ramses III, from His mortuary temple at medinet Habu, Thebes (Luxor) Cairo Museum of Antiquities. ReconstructedThe author's previous books include: The Bull of Ombos; Tankhem: Seth & Egyptian Magick; Supernatural Assault in Ancient Egypt; The Ritual Year in Ancient Egypt & Phi-Neter: Power of the Egyptian Gods.

Peter J Carroll developed the Theories and Practices of Chaos Magic which caused a revolution in magical and esoteric thinking in the last few decades of the twentieth century, and they continue to heavily influence it in the twenty first century. As the first in a new tradition of Sorcerer-Scientists, Carroll developed a paradigm in which Magic lies far closer to Science than to Religion. He formed a worldwide magical order to promote and develop the new insights into magic and then largely disappeared from public view to procreate and to build a business empire and continue scientific and metaphysical research in private. This book of interviews reveals the extraordinary life and adventures and thoughts of one of the world's most exceptional antinomian thinkers. It contains much that may intrigue, surprise, amaze, and outrage the reader on a very wide range of topics. The appendix contains Carroll's Hypersphere Cosmology thesis which presents a radical alternative to the big-bang theory, and which has, so far, resisted all attempts to falsify it.

The ancient Egyptians divided the year into 36 weeks of ten days duration, hence "decan" from Greek "ten". The iconography of the decans predates that of all famous European books of magick such as the Testament of Solomon or the Goetia. But one thing all these spirits have in common is their malign character. Each decan is ruled over by particular stars, rising in succession over the course of a year. These can be observed rising on the eastern horizon just before dawn. You and I were born into this intricate web of stars. The 36 decans are in effect an earlier Egyptian equivalent of the later Greek system of twelve zodiacal signs. The twelve culminating decans are also the equivalent of the twelve "houses".All information needed to use this calendar either in ritual or for prognostications is included, as well as an ephemeris as well as information on how it is compiled, in case you want to make your own. A final chapter looks at the decans after the Pharaohs, plus guide on how to make an Egyptian personal "horoscope" based entirely on the decans. I'm not sure anyone has previously called these personifications of the decans, demons, but that is what they plainly are. To use the title of a recent groundbreaking academic conference, these are "demon things" and there are actually far more images of them in ancient Egyptian iconography than there are the well known deities.

  • - A History of artistic perspective and a new approach to drawing
    av Xavier Bolot

In this book we learn how to draw using a natural technique that is amazingly efficient and simple. Real Perspective is a new approach to space as seen by our eyes.Perspective is an integral part of drawing and painting. It is however poorly understood today. Our representation of perspective in western countries dates from the 17th century, enforced by an edict made by Louis XIV despot of France. It consisted of drawing receding straight lines starting from a vanishing point. However, the ancient Greeks used specific curves. This heritage was not taken up during the Renaissance. In an investigative atmosphere, this book unmasks beliefs we received on the Renaissance and our contemporary culture. We learn to believe what we see. We rediscover again the Greek knowledge, and the researches among others of Leonardo da Vinci, Henri Matisse and David Hockney. Real Perspective is a new approach of space as seen by our eyes.

Phi-Neter, means 'Power of the Gods'. In hieroglyphs this is represented by the hind-quarters of a leopard, a "Typhonian" creature, a predator who exemplifies the driving force of magick. In this book the author extends the core working material of Egyptian magick for himself and others to study and use. These techniques are manifest in the cult of Lord Seth - known as Typhon by the Greeks - and by all the other Gods of the Egyptian pantheon. The Egyptian magician wields a power that was ultimately created by the Gods for the use of anyone who wishes to do their work. It is the same underlying power whether manipulated by Gods, priests, aristocrats, the common people or even the criminal. Same power, different ends."Ancient Egypt is an intellectual and spiritual world that is linked to our own by numerous strands of tradition." - Jan Assmann, The Mind of Egypttopics include: the false door; temple; abramelin; magick squares; aleister crowley; the heptagram; vowel song; cardinality; twilight language; seven charaktêres for "deliverance"; ring of power; hermeticism; colour symbolism; number; egyptian "kabbalah"; hermeneia; the star goddess; the book of nuit; ephemeris of egyptian decans; books of the nightworld (duat); book of gates; egyptian liturgy; a greco-egyptian dice oracle; Short Invocations, prayers, valedictions, maledictions etc

Child psychologist Nicola Grainger and her husband Howard have chosen to remain childless, but when Nicola's sister and her husband are killed in a car accident in Egypt, Nicola feels duty bound to offer their young twin sons a home. After their arrival, it quickly becomes clear that their upbringing in Egypt, their father's country, has left them spoiled and difficult to handle. They also have the disconcerting ability to finish each other's sentences and constantly answer to each other's names. At times Nicola feels that they're not two children at all, but in fact represent different aspects of one child. As a child psychologist, Nicola knows that the boys need time to adjust to their new life, but she has failed to understand their ability to read the minds of people around them, playing on their most terrifying subconscious fears with horrific results. In addition to these problems, Nicola finds that she is having to cope with the boys' attachment to the handsome Sergei, a friend of their father's in Egypt, who visits them regularly to provide a much needed link between their past life and their new one. Only Sergei truly understands these children, and only Sergei knows the truth about their past and what the future holds for them. As he draws Nicola into his magnetic web she is literally unable to get him out of her mind. To the astonishment of everyone, including herself, she abandons Howard and travels to Egypt with Sergei and her nephews. Once there, she is plunged into a world of dark eroticism and looming evil - the hidden, gaping gateway to hell.
