The main aim of this book was to examine the effects of six psycho-social elements on students' academic achievements at secondary level. The study was carried out with two questionnaires and one interview schedule especially constructed and validated on indigenous samples; namely students' psycho-social elements questionnaire, teachers' psycho-social elements questionnaire and interview schedule for parents.
Cognitive distortions are an important area of investigation in terms of problematic behaviors. Although relationship between dysfunctional beliefs and behavioral problems is well established, the strength of relationship especially towards externalizing internalizing behavioral problems is not known. Therefore, the purpose of present book was to examine the role of cognitive distortions in the development of behavioral problems (internalizing and externalizing behavioral problems). In addition to cognitive distortions, the predictive role of certain demographic variables (such as gender, socioeconomic status and family system) and self-esteem was also examined.
Machine learning and deep learning algorithms work well where future estimations and predictions are required. Notably, in educational institutions, machine learning, and deep learning algorithms can help instructors predict learners' learning performance. Furthermore, the prediction of learners' learning performance can assist instructors and intelligent learning systems in taking preemptive measures/early engagement/early intervention measures so that the learning performance of weak learners could be in creased, thus reducing learners' failures/dropout rates. In this study, we propose an intelligent learning system that provides adaptive feed back and support to learners.
Lateral epicondylitis (LE) a prevalent musculoskeletal dysfunction which is defined as an injury caused by chronic overuse of the extensor tendon of the forearm and characterized by pain over lateral epicondyle of the humeurs and cases with prolonged complaint of pain over duration of 4 weeks are termed as chronic lateral epicondylitis. The main aim of this book was to compare the effect of Muscle Energy Technique with Plyometric exercises, Myofascial Release Technique with Plyometric exercises and Conventional Physiotherapy on pain, grip strength, functionalperformance and muscle activity in study participants of Chronic Lateral Epicondylitis thereby halting the need for surgical intervention.
Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, is the most common form of DM characterized by hyperglycemia, insulin resistance and relative insulin deficiency.People with type 2 diabetes are more vulnerable to both short- and long-term complications, which often lead to premature death. These lifestyle interventions should be initiated along with pharmacologic therapy when hypertension is diagnosed and are reasonable for individuals with diabetes and mildly elevated blood pressure.
Active learning makes learning a dynamic and effective process. A study was conducted to develop and test 4Ws&H active learning model for teaching mathematics. Objectives of this book was to develop and test an active learning model for teaching mathematics and to explore the effect of this model on the academic achievement, critical thinking, learning engagement, cognitive development and mathematical motivation of different achievement level of students. The model was developed after thorough study of related literature. This book adopted quantitative research approach.
