Tangled Threads is the sequel to The Red Threads of Destiny, with the humor of a buddy picture, and a touch of the paranormal throughout. Readers are literally along for the ride as each chapter tangles another thread, right up to the emotional ending.Caroline is on a mission she doesn't fully understand. For the past year, she has been cleaning up the remnants of her grandfather's estate, and having paranormal visions-visions of strangers, of tigers and of dragons. When she and her husband Raiden settle down near Roslyn, Washington, they believe life can't get any sweeter.Caroline befriends local activist Marci and she is quickly immersed into the battle for salmon conservation, while at the same time dealing with her husband returning to Japan to straighten out a mess at his design studio.Twists and turns once again lead us from Washington State, to Key West Florida, the Bootheel of Missouri and Kyoto Japan. Proving that no matter how badly our threads tangle, they never truly break.

Adequate nutrition is the foundation of good health. Unfortunately, much of what is available to consumers on store shelves and in eating establishments offers many calories, little nutritional value, and unhealthy additives. Thankfully, it is possible to transform the way we eat so that food is not harmful, but instead is medicine that helps our bodies function properly, heal from illness, and potentially protect us from future disease. In a practical guide for the eating experience in our modern multiethnic society, Dr. Nicholas H.E. Mezitis relies on his professional experience to help others understand the reason for balance on the meal plate and rhythm in the timing of meals, while explaining the relationships between varying diet trends and suggesting choices that contribute to a healthy and productive life.

Much more than just a visual treat, Paul's book of photographs offers viewers the chance to stop and appreciate the timeless beauty of natural and man made wonders. While enjoying the wonderfully composed images and reading the postcard quotes he has added to some of the photos, I realized Paul is able to deliver an experience for the viewer that other books rarely achieve. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has enjoyed a solitary moment.- Bill Murphy: Lead Science Investigator / Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files

Seang Seng was born and raised in Cambodia, the Southeast Asian country Prince Sihanouk had coined an "Island of Peace."The Cambodian people knew only two natural seasons: the dry and the rainy. In the dry season, farmers celebrated the harvest. At the New Year, farmers and city dwellers alike brought rice and prepared foods to the temple to celebrate. During the rainy season, farmers prepared their fields and planted new crops with hopes for a bountiful future harvest. In the cities, students studied, moviegoers flocked to the popular cinemas, and sidewalk vendors hawked all manner of plentiful food and drink. But once the barbaric Khmer Rouge seized power in April 1975, they forcibly evacuated the cities, including the capital of Phnom Penh, and fourth-year medical student Seang Seng found himself and his family of 24 persons driven into a countryside of forced labor camps that would come to be known as the "Killing Fields."

Years ago, a colleague came up with the novel idea of bringing my dog to school to work with students with emotional issues. Since then this one dog has touched many people and has prompted other programs to add a therapy dog to their staff. My book explores my personal experiences working with a therapy dog in three different school settings over a 7-year period. The therapy dog program involves using dog and handler teams that have been certified through Therapy Dogs International (TDI). Animal assisted therapy is a nontraditional method for working with regular and special education students in a variety of programs. This research project involved the work of many individuals. I have been blessed to work with many outstanding people throughout my career who have been willing to think outside of the box and support such a nontraditional idea. This book is a must read for educators, therapists, and animal lovers and sends a message about the climate of our schools and connecting with our youth.

This is the story of the late artist and poet Mauricio Saravia, who despite suffering McCune-Albright and Lion's Face Syndrome, had a real magical life. You will virtually travel with him his adventurous long journey through Uruguay, New York, Springfield, San Francisco, Denver, and finally Hollywood, although he had a brief life with many limitations. This story may be an inspiration to others with the same or other medical conditions and limitations as Mauricio had. Although hard to believe, the book cannot be considered a drama, because Mauricio had a very good sense of humor, he was always making jokes and making his friends laugh. Besides, interesting and funny things were always happening to him.The story has a little bit of everything, as well as real life.

It was self-fulfilling prophecy. After being told that he was dreaming too big, Jerel set out on a journey of faith. With dreams of competing for SEC powerhouse LSU, he discovered how faith and hard work can equal a dream realized. Jerel went from failing to make the Hinds Community College track team to becoming the tenth fastest 100-meter sprinter is LSU's history. In his personal autobiography, "Never Give Up On Your Dreams: My Journey of Faith," Jerel shares his story of overcoming adversity and the importance of keeping faith.Being a non-scholarship "walk-on" athlete proved to be challenging but he still managed to graduate from LSU - without even having school textbooks to study from. With undeniable faith, Jerel ignored the "dream-killers" he encountered and proved that anything is possible through true belief. In the pages of this book, Jerel Hill reveals his thoughts about overwhelming obstacles he faced and seeks to inspire, motivate, and encourage readers to never give up on their dreams.

Seasons of the Heart, Garden of the Soulis a year-long collection of poetry mirroring the passage of seasons as experienced in my day-to-day comings and goings. Memories, reminiscences, ponderings, reflections were the inspiration for my poetic meditation of the day. The passing of time, my presence in the world, and my relationship with Nature's seasonal adornings were the themes of these poetic musings. The notion of using poetry as a journaling mode of expression became a self-motivating endeavor. Like stream-of-consciousness recordings, what I was feeling in the moment as I embraced the offerings of the seasons became the poetic pursuits of my inner voice clamoring to be heard. Personal beliefs, values, and ways of being were challenged by Nature's omniscient, seasonal wisdom.Poetry writing as creative process is my journey of discovery, transformation and illumination.
