Nella seconda giornata sono esposti gli inganni e i tradimenti che gli uomini fanno alle donne che credono loro: in un crescendo di aneddoti finalizzati a provare l'inclinazione al tradimento dei mariti, questa parte si interrompe all'improvviso con la reazione emotiva della Pippa, che sviene per il cordoglio, secondo un espediente a effetto tipico della scrittura irregolare e ghiribizzosa dell'Aretino. Nella terza ed ultima parte segue la descrizione degli accorgimenti delle mezzane, affidata alla Balia e alla Comare, mentre madre e figlia fanno da ascoltatrici. Ragionamento e Dialogo si presentano come programmatica effrazione delle convenzioni del genere serio, dell'institutio, che Aretino irrideva nella versione idealizzata e spiritualistica che aveva assunto in clima di classicismo cinquecentesco. Nella manipolazione attuata da Aretino i contenuti alti risultano polemicamente dissacrati in un contrappunto sarcastico, dove ad essere salvaguardati sono i valori formali (sprezzatura, dialettica nascondere/apparire, simulazione/dissimulazione, retorica del decoro e dell'onesto) a petto di una clamorosa sostituzione dei messaggi con quelli che il sistema classicistico etichettava come disvalori (Aonia edizioni).
