Mind(in)g Me is a self-help creative memoir detailing the author's journey from teen mom to lawyer. MJ Radford shares her story of striving to create a better life for her and her son. In her pursuit of "stability" as a lawyer, she found herself lost, unsure, and consumed with what others thought about her. Determined to persevere, she pushed past life's setbacks and defeats to get to the other side of trauma and negative self-image. MJ Radford hopes to inspire and encourage others to share their story and become who they were created to be.
The boat is ready, and it's time for all of God's animals to get on board with Noah and his family. Some may dance. Some may prance. Some may have to squeeze their way in. But either way, there is room for each one when the animals entered Noah's ark.
Bendahrin lived an uncomplicated life as a collector of rare antiquities. On a whim, and for no reason that he could ever remember, he decided to invite the most powerful, evil sorceress in the galaxy to meet him on her home planet so he could attempt to steal her legendary sword, Bratenla. Instead of killing him outright, in an unexpected and unprecedented act of mercy, she, Alystra, the Destroyer, rescued him. He suddenly found himself trapped on her ship, chasing across the galaxy, helping her to search for and discover the source of the spell that had transformed her into the embodiment of evil. Life with Alystra, for Bendahrin, became tremendously complicated, and potentially deadly.

"What Mailander has delivered is a treatise for how to get it right when it matters most." -William Schwab, Esq., US Army Aviation Colonel (ret.)VETERAN STRATEGIST AND COUNSELOR TO CEOs REVEALS THE ART OF MASTERING JUDGMENT IN CRITICAL MOMENTSThe single most influential variable in determining who wins and who loses in moments of critical decision-making is judgment. The properties of judgment have an alchemical quality to them, able to transform adversity into opportunity for gifted leaders while proving elusive, career-ending, or even fatal to others. In Judgment, Mailander takes you on a journey alongside a Cold War nuclear submarine commander hunting an enemy in the Sea of Japan, a Wall Street executive challenged to avert a global financial crisis, and the senior director of the White House Situation Room standing up the US national security apparatus in response to terrorist attacks in Paris. Through these gripping accounts, hidden codes and universal patterns of judgment well exercised are revealed. Readers will discover invaluable insights to: - Identifying trigger points within the decision-making process that create opportunities for steering the course in your favor - Avoid the common errors leaders make, such as relying on a one-size-fits-all decision archetype or succumbing to common cognitive biases - Seven indicators that illuminate the probable trajectory of a decision arc and gauge the strength or vulnerability of the decision-maker's position. Judgment is a clear-eyed telling of the conditions that can change the course of a business, an economy, or a nation. It reveals the deeper codes and common patterns within critical decisions, and offers a collection of clues to look for and the methodologies that can be used by strategists, planners, and leaders - whether they be in the boardroom or on the battlefield - to improve their own leadership when it matters the most.

Beyond the pain and mental anguish, there's little he can reach for. He is desperate to find an anchor in this storm. After all, he came back in time to stop...what? Why had he returned? Sent by the late-night call to find the broken Morgan, Darius now must help him find out what he's come back to stop, and soon. If that wasn't challenging enough, the longer they're together, the more Darius feels himself drawn to Morgan, and the more willing he is to open old wounds that nearly destroyed him in the past. Grades and assessment are elephants in almost every room where discussions of education are underway. This book examines the what, why, and whether of grades: When do they fail? What harm do they do and how can we mitigate that harm? Can we construct more poetic, less supposedly objective, models for assessment? What is ungrading? The word "ungrading" means raising an eyebrow at grades as a systemic practice, distinct from simply "not grading." The word is a present participle, an ongoing process, not a static set of practices. Ungrading is a systemic critique, a series of conversations we have about grades, ideally drawing students into those conversations with the goal of engaging them as full agents in their own education. This book represents over 20 years of thinking and writing about grades. The work of ungrading is to ask hard questions, point to the fundamental inequities of grades, and push for structural change. There are lots of places to begin this work. This book offers a handful of jumping off points, pedagogies and practices to explore to make assessment more equitable.

It's hardly ever easy to move a teenage child to a new town, much less a new state, when they are in high school. Leaving San Diego was unbearably hard for fifteen-year-old Clara Simmons. She'd grown up on the sandy beaches of sunny southern California, had a fast-paced lifestyle, and life-long friends including a boyfriend named Chet. She soon learned that life is a perpetual cycle of change. Georgia was no California. There were no beaches in the small-town not ten miles southwest of Macon, and the dirt was red! Just when she thought she'd catch a bus and go back to San Diego, her resistance shifted to acceptance. Her neighbor, sixteen-year-old Jeremy Gorman, cast new light on living in the country. Missing the California beaches was no longer an issue-the Gorman family lake would do just find. Their friendship grew into a full romance during the senior Christmas dance. Life would never be the same for the two teenagers from that night on.
A tiny, sweet, but impatient rabbit who loves to eat carrots decides to grow her own carrots. When she is unsuccessful, she will have to learn patience in order to grow them successfully.
