""A fly on the wall insight of the memories, imagination and journeys of a boy from a council estate who late in life discovered the joy of performance poetry. When a boy born in the sixties and raised in the seventies takes up poetry he writes about what he knows and what he primarily knows is - a mish-mashed potpourri of life lived experiences, imaginings, observations and a love of all things bookish. 57 years has resulted in a mediocre high school education, an eclectic variety of jobs from Chef to Croupier to Tutor, marriage, four amazing sons, a grandson, divorce, mental health problems, arthritis, social anxiety and crippling self doubt.Following all this and somehow, to the bewilderment of himself he not only gained a BA(Hons) but also a Masters degree from the renowned Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. This is ians first solo collection of musings, recollections, imaginations, poetic tales and reactions. Some of the poems in this book are reflective, some are an insight into the authors past and the rest are, well a mish mash of whatever randomness goes through a poets head at times. Some are fun, some are retrospective and a couple investigate what could be described as a difficult truth.""
This book is a result of a challenge that I completed, called "The 21 Day Poem Challenge". It was hosted by BookLeaf Publishing. I wrote a poem each of the 21 days. I generally write daily, so this challenge was really more about finding the proper motivation to get my first compilation of poetry published.
Given enough time, one's thoughts ascend to the extremes. A snowball with infinite buildup potential as the thoughts become more and more volatile. It's only after the final crash that they are dismissed as if nothing happened. Like an unattended flame, one's thoughts become destructive and unnecessary.
This collection of poems embodies the author's journey of healing and growth by reaching back to the roots of her faith. Dr. Moreman's understanding about life from her hard-earned experiences parallels with what the calla lilies represent: rebirth, gratitude, hope, and begin again.
""In The Aftermath is a poetic memoir about the mental illness, domestic abuse, and trauma. It travels and explores what one's mind does and how it can feel in the midst of mental and personal crisis, what it can feel like to heal or wonder if you are healed, the way one survives, and what it feels like in the aftermath of it all.In The Aftermath is the poetic story of my own catharsis and the way I saved myself.""
It's a book with little stories that give a description of daydreams and some life experiences. It might take to you to a journey of curiosity but I hope my words can bring you a smile .
Heavy with themes of addiction, abuse, sobriety and introspection, the author gives us a look into the mind of someone struggling to overcome her pain, feelings of inadequacy, and separation from her faith. Raw, and an honest view of her misgivings, Katie delivers a lyrically pleasing and entertaining show of her emotions.
themes of the five stages of grief - denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance - are prominent in the poems from the author's perspective.

a collection of poems on the exhilarating yet terrifying journey of falling in love after heartbreak - the pieces that come back together and the ones that are further fractured.
Words are a form of visual entertainment, and a source of joy. I like to collect them and spill them across pages. That's how I think about this book - a series of spillages.
Searching For The Light is a debut collection of 21 highly emotive and evocative poems, written to explore our feelings about relationships; with each other, with ourselves and with the world around us. The focus of many of the poems in this collection is on the singular pain caused by the breakdown of romantic relationships and the hurt that can be caused when we are no longer able to communicate or connect with our partner and pain and conflict become everyday occurrences.
These are the thoughts of a Developer. We typically are not the best with communication, but I hope to elegantly express some of the common feelings I experience day to day.
In my early adolescence, I found myself in love with love and life. Over the years the archetype for love was shaped by loss. The biggest loss of all---myself. Ascension to self-love is an anthology of poems that highlights the season of love and my life for over a decade.
This is a compilation of poems, some freshly written and some have been sitting over the years. They are about me and everything I think about: the earth, questions, and life itself. These poems are quite literally "Experimenting with Everything".
What is inside of this small sharing of words is pieces of me from many times and eras in my life. I hope that who so ever chooses to support and read through what I shared will appreciate the words I was able to share. Thank You.
