This study investigates the topic of Eco- sustainability in the Jeanswear sector. The objectives are (1) to focus on Sustainable Development and Green Marketing in the Denim industry, (2) substantiate all of the theory through the tangible case of Levi''s® Eco Jeans and (3) rank the factors that consumers value while making jeans purchase decisions. The survey instruments consist of both a questionnaire and of a qualitative research. The data stemming from the questionnaire are analyzed using factor analysis and the most important criterion for jeans assessment turns out to be related to Practicality. A structural model is developed in order to test whether the Eco- sustainability factor is influenced by some sociographical variables: the findings are thoroughly illustrated. Based on the evidence of the model, on the results obtained through the qualitative and quantitative research and on the observation of the market and of society, recommendations on ¿green¿ strategies for the companies active in the Denim industry, and in particular for Levi Strauss & CO., are provided. Finally, hypotheses for future research are also presented.

One of the major problems facing African countries today is that of underdevelopment and dependency. The expectations that political independence of African countries will engender development soon became a mirage as disease, famine, lack of good accommodation and health care facilities became the lot of ordinary Africans. This informed the resurgence towards regional integration in Africa especially in the 1990s. The research therefore sets out to examine the newly formed African Union (AU) and its potentials towards the transformation of Africa. In a bid to achieve this, a background preceding the formation of AU is provided, the state of African economies which is rural in nature is established and the documentary method is used to gather data used for analyzing the problem. The research unveils the fact that virtually all African States are still heavily dependent on the export of a narrow range of primary commodities leading to weak linkages among various sectors that makes it difficult to build dynamic, self-reliant and socio-sustaining economies.

Places of cultural significance enrich people''s lives, offering a deep and inspirational sense of connection to community and landscape.Historic towns and cultural landscape have shaped our societies and are considered invaluable assets for the present and future generations. To preserve the cultural identity and historic characters of such towns in the light of transformation brought by the forces of globalisation and urbanisation as well as progress in production technology present severe challenges to relevant stakeholders. This study extensively review the significanne of heritage of Thimi and identifes the absence of integrated polices, weak public participation, lukework tourism promotion and weak institutional capacity as the factors underpinning the demise of Thimi as a sustainable-cum-culture community. It also highlights the urgent need of urban conservation through area revitalisation that enhance local economy, improve built environment, maintain sense of community and regenerate local arts and crfats, and eventually promote sustainable community development.

Fly ash based geopolymeric binders have potential for a wide range of high temperature applications and it is receiving more attention due to their economic and environmental advantages. This kind of Geopolymeric materials possess intrinsic fire resistance due to their rigid 3-D aluminosilicate structure. Geopolymer specimens remains dimensionally stable at high temperature and provides good compressive strength also. The percentage of Na2O and SiO2/Na2O ratio affect development of internal pore structure of Geopolymers and subsequently its performance at elevated temperature. The characterisation of internal pore structure can be made by using simple experimentation like measuring water absorption, apparent porosity and water sorptivity as well as some sophisticated mineralogical and microstructure studies like SEM, XRD, MIP etc. also. This book records a huge experimental observations and explained intricate behavioural aspects of fly ash based geopolymer exposed elevated temperature. It will help the researchers and technologists to produce high temperature resistant geopolymer for different engineering applications.

Shorttitle: MLE is a Fulcrum to Learn. The way we were teaching cannot be the sole way to bring changes in self and others any longer. The way we teach and learn needs redefinition to initiate sustainable changes. Otherwise, we remain trying to solve our current problems using the tools of yesterday, which may not provide us with the result that is different from that of yesteday. I used to think about doing some new things to the way Ethiopian schools are accustomed to teach and, finally I learned from the works of professor Feuerstein that MLE could serve this purpose. Due to this, I devoted my time to reading into MLE and decided to make an experiment on students'' locus of control, self efficacy belief, and oral communication.

Plastic injection molding process is well known as the manufacturing process to create products with various shapes and complex geometry at low cost. The injection molding cycle consists of several stages, such as filling, packing, and cooling. The cooling system design is of considerable importance since about 80% of the cycle time is taken up by the cooling phase. In this book, injection mold of a complicated plastic part with undercuts is designed by providing the Sliders in the mold and cycle time is reduced by optimizing cooling time. In this book, different variables included: size, location and layout of cooling channels, temperature and flow rate of the coolant and the effect of different types of plastic materials on cooling time are analyzed analytically and through software analysis to optimize the cooling time.

Internal Control Systems have continued to be a major concern in governance and this importance has been magnified in the recent years due to global increase in financial scandals and malpractices.Reports by various watchdog organisations have continued to serialize massive financial frauds and malpractices in organisations despite having internal controls in place. This motivated the author to write this book on internal control systems. For an internal control system to be effective, three stages of design and establishment, implementation and continuous monitoring phases have to be in place. An analysis made from chief finance officers and chief internal auditors as well as external auditors for the purpose of comparing and contrasting their opinions revealed a contrast. While the chief finance officers indicated internal controls systems are effective and working well in their organisations, the chief internal auditors and external auditors were in disagreement stating that the systems are ineffective. After the study, recommendations on areas of concern and improvement for effective implementation of internal control systems as well as future knowledge have been highlighted.

The purpose of this study is to discover the most significant characteristics of Bruno Taut''s (1880- 1938) theoretical activity in his last years and to clarify their relation with his previous theories. Taut spent his last years (1933-1938) in exile, first in Japan, then in Turkey. He stayed in Japan for three and half years, where he spent much time researching and writing articles and books about Japanese art, architecture and social life, which have been acclaimed both in Japan and overseas. In this book I will try to provide a conceptual analysis of Bruno Taut''s way of thought from his early visions of Expressionist period to his researches on Japanese architecture. That is, this study aimed to clarify how Taut could see and interpret traditional Japanese architecture in an original way. To achieve this purpose I''ve divided this study into two main parts. Part I aims to understand theoretical basis of Taut''s thought in the years prior to his arrival in Japan. Taut''s main findings in Japanese architecture, as well as the sources that might be influential on his way of expression in his books published in Japan, are discussed in part II.
