Membrane Separation Technology has added a new dimension in modern separation technology. The recent novel development in membrane processes have made it possible to use various different purposes at eco-nomical rates with additional flexibility and improved efficiencies. Feed spacers can provide higher shear rates at the membrane surface, which, promote the mixing between the bulk of the fluid and the fluid ele-ment adjacent to the membrane surface. As a result concentration polarization and membrane fouling can be reduced. The present work is devoted to investigate the hydrodynamics in two dimensional spacer filled channels. Three different configurations of the cylindrical spacers are investigated with different channel Reynolds number and different meshlength. Different size and shape of formation of recirculation region, upstream and downstream of the spacers are closely observed. This recirculation regions have an important role in enhancing the mass transfer in the reattachment region.

Most of the research conducted about homework is based on adults' perspectives. This case study explored the perspectives of 5th and 6th grade students in comparison with 10 teachers' perceptions about homework. The author administered questionnaires and conducted in depth interviews using a stratified purposive sample and extreme case sampling; which educed the participants' perceptions and practices about homework. The students' represented 4 distinct groups: English Language Learners, general education, gifted and talented and special education. The teachers' instruct 5th and 6th grade. The results of the study indicate that students do not complete their homework because they find it too hard, boring, or they do not understand it. Interestingly, students think that worksheets are hard and boring. However, they are not against homework! This book should benefit teachers, parents, school administrators and staff developers. It would also help develop homework practices that would increase homework completion and student learning. This book brings out the voices of the students to the forefront. After all, they are the ones doing the homework. Listen to them!

Regular school attendance is an important factor in the child's success. The issue of absenteeism is complex, and covers a wide range of behaviours, including chronic absenteeism, school refusal and truancy. Absenteeism has major impact on learning.Thereis extreme paucity of literature comprehensively assessing the child and factors leading to school absenteeism and how absenteeism affects academic achievement has not yet been elucidated. This study was done to find the various medical and non-medical causes responsible for school absenteeism and to see the various effects of school absenteeism on the child.

African dance has been absent in school systems worldwide for many years. The presence of cultural dances has rarely made a mark in educational institutions. The most common forms of dance studied at the university level for credit are ballet, modern, jazz and tap. There is rarely a presence of African dance. One can independently study a variety of African dances. The question is, how can a student major and graduate from an accredited university if the courses are not offered? This research delves into the aesthetics of West African dance, discussing customs, traditions, dance forms and additional components, which bring West African culture to life. It will be useful to professionals in the dance field who seek to establish a West African dance institution anywhere around the world. This project intends to analyze the lack of traditional African dance within a variety of university systems, and incorporates an example of a West African dance catalog using the State University of New York, College of Brockport's (SUNY Brockport's) dance curriculum as a template.

This extraordinary Northern Wei (late 5th c CE) lacquer coffin was excavated from a tomb in northwest China. It depicts equally traditional Chinese images and images imported from the West along the Silk Road. Both are examined in detail. The foreign images are traced, often for the first time, to their points of origin in Iran, Central and South Asia, even the Mediterranean and Egypt, with surprising results. New interpretations are presented of the Mawangdui silk painting, flaming triangles, human-headed birds, pearl roundels and even half-palmettes. Comprehensive surveys are provided of furniture of the period, sutra pillars and bronze door knockers making these volumes indispensable for students of Chinese material culture. Images on the coffin reflect Daoist, Buddhist, even Sogdian and Mesopotamian beliefs. Historians and art historians alike will find documentation of these themes from the Yellow Sea to the Mediterranean in the 809 illustrations. "A stellar example of meticulous attention to detail and exhaustive research on the subject." East Asian Council Committee, Canadian Asian Studies Association.

The global in time continuation to the three- dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equations remains the major unsolved problem in the mathematical fluid mechanics. This issue somehow drives qualitative mathematical analysis of the viscous incompressible flows toward the enormous development, but only a little interest pointed to the analytical methods which provide a quantitative understanding. It is discussed in the book that finding the appropriate methods for analytical treatment of the full set of incompressible Navier- Stokes equations is very important task from theoretical and practical point of view. The scope of the current investigation is to solve the three- dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equations and continuity equation by self developed analytical techniques which may also be applied to other equations as well. The phenomenological issue is also addressed following preliminary validating processes which are discussed in a concise manner for each case.

Sahar (Tor putitora), king of the Himalayan fishes, is an economically high valued fish of Nepal & is the most popular & largest riverine sport fish. Similarly, Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is an important fresh water aquaculture species around the world & can be an ideal species for rural aquaculture in Nepal too if an appropriate culture technique is developed. In this context, this study attempts to look after the effect of stocking density of Sahar on growth & production of these two species; & Sahar's relative efficiency on recruitment control of mixed sex Nile Tilapia as well, so that commercially viable culture plan can be developed. Descriptive analysis & linear regression model are used to measure these effects & describe the data. The result showed 1:33 Sahar to Nile tilapia ratio to be appropriate for fish growth & production while 1:16 Sahar to Nile tilapia ratio revealed the best for recruitment control of tilapia & seed production. This book, as it basically talks on co-cultural practices of Sahar with Nile tilapia, would be of help especially to the professionals in Aquaculture & anyone else with allied interest.
