The intersection of architecture and the machine has a history that stretches back to the Industrial Revolution, however the machine has recently begun to appear in new ways in speculative architectural drawing and modelling. This issue of AD considers the influence of the machine as an allegorical device for exploring alternative architectural practices, and includes a cross-section of viewpoints from emerging and established international practitioners and academics. Allegory, a technique native to literature, provides a critical method through which machine typologies can contribute to deeper architectural narratives, offering new lenses for challenging or reassembling conventional modes of thought. An allegorical architectural project can unveil a story that enhances our awareness of something important. This AD reveals how engagement with the machine as an allegorical device in architectural discourse provides an avenue for architecture to provoke new ideas in response to current environmental, political, economic, cultural and social issues. At the forefront of this discussion, it extends the criticality of the topic within the broader spectrum of history, theory, philosophy, allegory and new technologies. Strategies and tools to become a better leader by developing an inclusive perspective at work Instead of seeing inclusiveness as a "trendy concept," The Power of Inclusion: The value of inclusion in contemporary leadership shows its audience on how inclusion is an emotion that is achieved only through effective practice abilities. This book delves into what inclusiveness promises us, discusses the relationship between inclusiveness, productivity, and diversity, evaluates concepts that are useful for us to increase our capacity for inclusion and looks at the obstacles that stand in the way of inclusion (such as unconscious prejudices) to help teach readers understand how to change and become an inclusive leader. Written by Dr. Riza Kadilar, President of European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC Global), this book explores topics including: How inclusion is effected when people feel respected, valued, trusted and safe, have a sense of belonging and are able to be their best self Why diversity in aspects like age, appearance, culture and education can be turned into a benefit for any organisation Why leaders must regard the differences, and not be regardless of the differences, of their team members The Power of Inclusion earns a well deserved spot on the bookshelves of all coaches and mentors, business leaders, HR professionals and managers who seek to reinvent their perspective surrounding timely interpersonal topics and achieve greater organisational cohesiveness and success as a result.

Comprehensive textbook examining meaningful connections between the subjects of Lie theory, differential geometry, and signal analysis A Bridge Between Lie Theory and Frame Theory serves as a bridge between the areas of Lie theory, differential geometry, and frame theory, illustrating applications in the context of signal analysis with concrete examples and images. The first part of the book gives an in-depth, comprehensive, and self-contained exposition of differential geometry, Lie theory, representation theory, and frame theory. The second part of the book uses the theories established in the early part of the text to characterize a class of representations of Lie groups, which can be discretized to construct frames and other basis-like systems. For instance, Lie groups with frames of translates, sampling, and interpolation spaces on Lie groups are characterized. A Bridge Between Lie Theory and Frame Theory includes discussion on: Novel constructions of frames possessing additional desired features such as boundedness, compact support, continuity, fast decay, and smoothness, motivated by applications in signal analysis Necessary technical tools required to study the discretization problem of representations at a deep level Ongoing dynamic research problems in frame theory, wavelet theory, time frequency analysis, and other related branches of harmonic analysis A Bridge Between Lie Theory and Frame Theory is an essential learning resource for graduate students, applied mathematicians, and scientists who are looking for a rigorous and complete introduction to the covered subjects.
