An edited collection exploring various aspects of critical pedagogy and how it can be applied to information literacy teaching. The chapters are focused on the work and practice of librarians in various countries and fields, both within a classroom context and wider explorations of collection management and critical library liaison, as well as deep dives into the theory of a more critical librarianship praxis. The book is inspired by the success of the Critical Library Pedagogy Handbook (2016) and aims to be a useful guide to exploring critical practice further.

A collection of rarely heard fairy tales from across Yorkshire, plus some local folklore. It has around fifty tales of dragons, giants, hobs, fairies, witches and other folk, or fairy, tales based in Yorkshire. Most of these are unchanged, or with very minor changes, to the versions found in old (out of copyright) books, though I've tended to soften the dialect to make them easier to read. A few, however, have had slightly more significant changes as the older versions I found were a little brief, and I took a mixture of these and newer versions to retell the story. A couple I've told completely from scratch, building on tiny scraps of local legend, where I could not find a proper story associated with them.A such there are a range of voices and types of stories to be found inside, plus a little extra folklore too.

Designed as a workbook, this book scaffolds the process of creating educational escape room style activities. It can be followed through by individuals, but is best used as part of a small group, all contributing ideas. For extra guidance, it can be used as part of a group workshop facilitated by the author, Andrew Walsh.Mainly designed to be used by instructors (of any sort!) to create escape rooms for their learners to use, it could also be used to help learners create their own escape room style activities. Please write within this book (unless you've borrowed it from a library or a colleague!) and use it to structure your thoughts as you develop educational escape rooms for your learners. It's deliberately short and cheap so that you don't feel guilty about doing so!Published by Innovative Libraries Press, a small publisher dedicated to creating affordable professional development books for educators, librarians, and learning supportprofessionals.

Librarians, learning support and academic staff could benefit from knowing more about the pathways that learners take through academic information: how they perceive, model and negotiate the information environment. With a richer understanding of our learners' individual journeys, we can make our interventions more relevant and more timely; we can structure our courses to allow pathfinding to develop; and we can help our learners to navigate reflectively through the sea of information. We present a range of information discovery journeys, from reflections upon formal search processes to a library fairy story. This book represents the richness of information discovery.
