American born project manager Nora Bloom enjoys her life in London, but love hasn't been easy. To stop herself from thinking about her ex for a night, she signs up for a speed-dating event. Not looking for anything other than distraction, she's surprised when she meets an Israeli woman who leaves a lasting impression on her. London-based diamond dealer Yael Kehim joins her single friend on a speed-dating night. Already casually dating someone, she's only there for moral support, but after meeting Nora, her mind keeps going back to that night, and she can't help but wonder what would have happened if she'd made different choices. Cupid reports to The Almighty. Roaming the earth, spreading love, and bringing destined souls together, they take their assignments very seriously. To blend in, they manifest in many different forms, but when morphing into Toby, a cuddly ginger cat, they find a whole new level of joy in their job, and distractions are lurking around every corner. When Nora and Yael finally meet again, strange things start to happen-things that are too bizarre to be coincidental. Is there free will in love? Or is our destiny written in the stars?

Coach Shegog, as we still call him today, is one of the oldest living people with HIV. He received his diagnosis in 1986, five years before Magic Johnson. Treatment and outcomes during this time were so poor that contracting the virus was a death sentence. Coach Shegog lost numerous loved ones to the virus and he suffered multiple bouts with the often fatal opportunistic pneumonias.Yet he persisted. Driven by his passion for wrestling, he needed to make sure his students were on track with their classes, able to graduate high school, and ready to continue their postgraduate pursuits. He knew everything about his kids and made sure they knew nothing about him. They never knew when he was sick. They never met the man he loved. They never knew he had to abstain from some critical wrestling moments to be with his dying partner. He knew coaching wrestling wouldn't have been an option had people learned the truth about him in the 1980s, 1990s, and possibly in the 2000s. He lived a lie and did so for the sake of his students. Learn about how Robert Shegog navigated these difficult issues in order to be the teacher, coach, father figure, and exemplary role model that inspired multiple generations of students.
*Ukuaq - A Woman's Arctic Memoir* has been selected as a Finalist in the 2024 Next Generation Indie Book Awards under the category of Memoirs (Overcoming Adversity/Tragedy). "Dorothee Komangapik has written a raw and honest memoir of her life in the Canadian Arctic. She pulls no punches in writing about her domineering and abusive father and the joys and sorrows of her marriage to an alcoholic Inuk man, juxtaposed with the kindness shown by his loving parents, her in-laws. Take off any rose-coloured glasses before beginning this insider's portrayal of community life in Nunavut." - Kenn Harper, historian and author of In Those Days: Collected Writings on Arctic History series (2014-2022), Give Me My Father's Body: The Story of Minik, the New York Eskimo (1986 & 2000) and Thou Shalt Do No Murder: Inuit, Justice and the Canadian Arctic (2017)
Prayer's Gone Global, begins with ancient civilisations and prayer (the Common Level). Then it narrows into Ancient Israel and prayer (the Sinai Level). Then it deepens and widens into Global Israel and prayer (the Christian Level). Deity is revealed as trinity: Sabellians sing off key. Relating to the trinity includes the Holy Spirit. We should of course work with him, but should we worship him, complain to him, chat with him? Above the spirit stands the often forgotten father-oh let Jesusism retire. Authority is another issue. Are we authorised to decree and declare? Is binding and loosing actually prayer, or is it evangelism? Is it biblical never to command miracles? Do we miss out on the supernatural which Jesus modelled for us, too fearful of strange fire to offer holy fire? You can freshen up your prayer life-ride the blessed camel, not the gnats. Listen to Saint Anselm pray, and C S Lewis and 'Malcolm' discuss prayer, and be blessed.
The year is 1874. Vince Browder is about to unleash a plague- and pestilence-breathing dragon upon an unsuspecting young nation. All that stands between him and the ultimate land grab is young Matthew Graham and a dragon of his own named Crazy Squirrel. Against seemingly impossible odds, Matthew is joined by a band of heroic individuals including the legendary Baxter Fleming; The Miracle Marksman, Francisco Ochoa; The Bolo Kid, Americus Freeman, Cordelia McKenna and, of course, Bax's faithful horse, Turquoise Bill. In a quest that will take our heroes from a quiet Michigan town, across a vast continent, to the twisted heart of a dead volcano deep in Death Valley, the adventure never stops.
Plucked out of the Collector's Pens, auctioned off to a vampire contingent, and sent across the ocean to the Alpha Territories was not exactly how I planned to spend my week.Actually, scratch that. I had planned the first bit. But I was supposed to be sold to the werewolves so I could save my friend from a fate worse than death. Instead, the bloodsuckers have me and so far? It's not going great. I've been shoved into a corset and made to look like an extra on the cast of Bridgerton, all to take part in the Harvest Games--think The Bachelor set in the 1800's, but the men are all vampires, and thenadd a decidedly terrifying Squid Games element to the mix.No problem. My goal-besides keeping the number of holes in my body to the current norm-is more than surviving. It is escaping the inescapable, finding my way to the werewolf territory, and getting Jordan back.Cue the political strife.Armed with nothing more than a super sharp hairpin, my questionable charm, and an irrational amount of optimism, plans to get both me and my bestie out alive are in full swing.Until the General of the Vampire Army and his molten eyes light me on fire and leave me wondering if escape is what I want after all. Maybe one extra set of holes wouldn't be the worst thing ever...
"A father's death haunts the dance of the graces. What happens to the women in his life now that he is dead? Will they redefine themselves or will they follow his lead and ape his larceny and fraud? They set off for new lands, brave dangerous country full of hostile threats, and they join to take back their legacy through stronger bonds and understanding"--

SOCIALISTS AND SOCIALISMA Book About the Socialists and About Socialism In his work, Mr. Watson takes up, one by one, each of the propositions of Karl Marx, and discusses them fully and fairly. He also analyses the great book of Herr Bebel, the world-leader of Socialism, "Woman Under Socialism." Mr. Watson cites standard historical works to prove that Bebel, Marx and other Socialist leaders are altogether wrong about, The Origin of Prosperity, The rise of the Marital relation, The Cause of the inequality of Wealth, etc. Mr. Watson demonstrates that Socialism-as taught by Marx, Bebel, LaSalle, Engel, etc.- would annihilate Individuality and personal liberty, Home-life as we know it, The Marital relation, with its protection to women, and finally RELIGION OF ALL KINDS.Mr. Watson proves that SPECIAL PRIVILAGE intrenched in law and in government, is now, and always has been, the Great Enemy of the Human race.

Psalm 84:10One day in Your house Lord is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than to live in the tents of the wicked. Mark Anderson's Scarecrow Oracle opens by "Going Backwards to Where It Starts" and then takes us forward through the speaker's childhood into his early adulthood, traveling through time as he stays rooted in place-the Spokane Valley, The Empyrean Coffee Shop, the Rockford Fair. The question the speaker is always asking is how to live in a world steeped in loss. Early in the collection, the young speaker asks a dandelion this question, and in response, "it lets go of everything it has ever been." Towards the end, the older speaker, less stunned now by the dandelion's quick vanishing, tells us as he performs the ordinary act of making his bed, "I want to be ready to be a ghost or a nothing..../ And when the time comes I part the curtains / and let in the astonishing day." Anderson's book translates the silences and fears of childhood and early loss into a series of images that answer, beautifully and without explanation, his difficult question.- Laura Read, author of Dresses from the Old Country

In "Uniquely Yours" we've learned how to accept each other's differences with love and appreciation. "Tiffany's New Glasses" is a lovely way of teaching colors and patterns, while allowing small but significant decisions to be made at very early ages. We wrap up the series with a sweet but teachable moment, "The girl with the Pink shoes" also involves parts of the color wheel's primary and secondary colors. Hopefully opening the minds of the very young into the world of color, objects and combinations.
