This book contains the prayers that Sri Chinmoy offered daily during his weightlifting sessions.Speaking about the prayers, Sri Chinmoy has said, "Every day, with folded hands, I give these prayers for you, for humanity. I do this not for myself. I do it for all my spiritual children. I do not think about what I am going to say on any particular day. I just throw myself into the Universal Consciousness and identify myself with this person or that person. It is like plucking a flower from a garden. The flower that I like most, I take. I see that one particular prayer is most appropriate for that person on that day. Tomorrow I will identify with someone else. It is all oneness, oneness, oneness. Where my spiritual children are, I also am there. If you take me to hell, even there I will go, but with the hope that one day I will be able to bring you to Heaven."
Answers IV: Earth's cry meets Heaven's SmileSince Sri Chinmoy formally began his mission on 27 August 1965, he has answered literally thousands of questions and answers, on subjects pertaining to the spiritual life. Most of these questions and answers, though recorded and transcribed, are still unpublished. After many years' delay, we are now bringing out this new series, "Earth's cry meets Heaven's Smile." This set will draw together not only the unpublished material, which will be of great interest to the Master's own disciples, but also the previously printed questions and answers which were scattered in dozens of successive issues of magazines or pamphlets.
These rhyming plays began on a Christmas Trip with Sri Chinmoy in China, December 2004. On our winter retreats, as well as meditating with Sri Chinmoy in person, we had the privilege of immersing ourselves in his new creations: songs, prayers, aphorisms, stories and artwork. In the evenings it usually fell to us, his disciples, to entertain one another on stage. Much of the programme consisted of plays based on the Master's stories - some of which are tales retold from Indian folklore, others anecdotes from Sri Chinmoy's own experience, others born of his own creative imagination, and many seemingly from delightful worlds between.
