"I am not marked by machete blows; I am marked by the love and power of God."Far from being a chronicle of the Rwandan genocide, As We Forgive Them narrates the story of one woman's astonishing resilience and those who accompanied her on her journey, making her victory possible: from her childhood to her vocation to become a nun that turned out so differently, her marriage, and all the events that prepared her to face the indescribable. This is a first-class testimony to the power of forgiveness in a generation that, more than ever, needs reminding of what it means to forgive and learn to rise beyond the trauma. Apolline had to face death and suffered deeply from it. Nevertheless, her life is a witness of how her faith in Christ Jesus helped her in these brutal circumstances. In the face of the unforgivable, she offered forgiveness and found inner healing. A survivor of the Rwandan genocide, Apolline Dukuzemariya recounts her life trajectory in this book. Her story is a prime testimony to the power of forgiveness despite the unspeakable cruelty she faced.Almost thirty years ago, on April 21, 1994, to be precise, she was massacred by ten militiamen and left for dead at her home in Butare, in the south of the country. Despite all odds, she held onto life, and eventually, Apolline managed to depart to Europe on humanitarian grounds. The long, slow healing process allowed her to reflect, read and pray. Today, Apolline lives in Aigle in the canton of Vaud and is a naturalized Swiss.
Inspired by the Author's personal search for the Divine, Life of a Sufi novel is centred on the idea that Sufism may be best described as Islamic mysticism or asceticism, which through belief and practice, helps attain closeness to God by way of direct personal experience of deity. The process of taking a concept and turning it into a book is challenging, but the experience is internally demanding and fulfilling and the reader will find a joyous moment of participation in this process. Wings for the butterfly, the day my life newly began is a journey; a long and hard one inside a woman's life who travelled far away from her own country and also inside herself to find a meaning to her existence and get back the integrity that she had lost at a young age.Today female mutilation is still practiced in various parts of the world, and many young girls who undergo FGM live in Africa. FGM is most prevalent among ethnic groups like Samburu, Maasai, Somali...The author is a victim of this cruelty, and through her book wants to raise awareness among young African girls, and more, against a brutal practice that changes their lives forever. The book starts with a description of a simple but happy life, until the mutilation day comes and Ntailan's existence changes completely. The way she loves herself and her body, the way she sees her parents who are guilty of allowing that, her feelings towards men and life, everything is discombobulated. So, the journey starts, through sorrow, and through a long spiritual and psychological path of healing, in order to find her real identity and roots. From pain, confusion and loss, through a long period of wandering and discovery, to eventual happiness - this is her story. Ntailan Lolkoki is a Maasai-Samburu living in Berlin. She is a painter, dancer and writer but most importantly she is an activist against FGM. Her biography was first released in Germany under the name of Fluegel fuer den Schmetterling, der Tag Mein Leben neue Began. It explains her life through FGM and the transformation thereafter. Her life is dedicated to inspiring many others with the same or similar cases of FGM, to rise and stand for themselves, facing and accepting their traumas as well as forgiving their perpetrators. She has given talks in Germany and in Kenya on the subject, to say no to FGM. She has written three books, all of them with a message to girls and women against FGM. One of her books is known as the Kingdom of Watetu and Songaland. It is an African Fairy Tale about a Princess who discovers as a child that FGM was wrong and went against it at the cost of almost losing her life. In the end her sacrifices paid off as she managed to save the girls of her tribe and reunite two neighbouring tribes at war because of FGM. Her third book is known as Life After Reconstruction, My Life After FGM Reconstruction. In it, she also continues to raise awareness against FGM.
My womb is an artist is a collection of poems that contains in verses emotions and desires of an author who wants to express the very essence of existence, of coming into the world, living creating and healing. The compositions explore the womb seen in its various facets: element of pleasure, means and instrument for the joy of birth, maternal element and a deeply feminine sanctuary. The search for love, healing and peace infuses the writing.Every reading plunges us into a whirlwind of emotions almost without space and time, through metaphors and rhetorical figures that can give us back the meaning of life as understood by the author: sense of freedom, of belonging and grace. The spirit, Alan, follows her everywhere, until he reveals himself to her in the churches where Dixi finds refuge and comfort."You have to observe yourself when you feel a painful emotion, because that is the door to self-awareness."After The Westerner (2017) and The Perfect Woman (2018), Melanie Francesca changes tone: leaving comedy and satire behind, she takes us to a more intimate level by investigating the nature of feelings and suffering, laying bare those wounds that since childhood determine the trajectory of our lives and our choices. Operation Ransac - Conspiracy is the true account of what happened to Eric R. Biddle, the same author of this book, at the hands of the Toronto Police starting in late October 1986. The book retraces the horrendous conditions he was exposed to in a year and a half of wrongful custody before sentencing. Also covered are the attempts on his life orchestrated by the police during the eight years and a half of custody. But the most interesting coverage is the actual criminal conspiracy to convict and silence him about the shocking investigation of the African National Congress or ANC in Canada. The other amazing aspect of the Eric R. Biddle story is that there was, and continues to be, a total media blackout on him. Biddle was falsely accused of attacking women and later decided to flee from Canada to Spain first and then to Finland, a true democracy. Biddle was finally cleared of criminal charges in July 2018. Eric R. Biddle was born on February 28,1950 in Vancouver, Canada. As a young man near Montreal he was very good at sports, but had to work hard at studies. After high school his parents encouraged him to distance himself from the bad influence of one friend. So, he accepted the offer of UBC in Vancouver and enrolled at age 17. After a year he returned east to study at Queens in Kingston, Ontario. During his four years at Queens he lived with his family for economic reasons. His summer jobs paid for tuition. After seven years working in the textile field for DuPont he resigned and moved to British Columbia. There he worked as a teacher. Seeking a better life he moved to Zimbabwe for some time. The poor conditions and bleak future of Africa decided him to return to Canada. This is the time when he got involved in intelligence work. After being wrongly imprisoned for eight and a half years, he fled Canada first to Spain and then to Finland, a true democracy. Teaching gave him an income in both countries. Now he enjoys writing.

A noir novel, a breath-taking thriller, a compelling detective story. The reader will be completely captivated by this novel which can be read in one sitting. The story takes place in a New York that is as dark as the shady inhabitants who lurk in the winding alleys. Will Carter be able to figure out the right way without getting into trouble? The answer can only be found at the end of the book. The desire to make poetry is a consequence of a way of life, of facing reality with the force, passion and tenacity that belongs to every poet, of seeing beyond the surface of things, of grasping hidden truths, of discovering the flavors and scents of familiar places and of expressing personal feelings. The purpose of this collection is precisely to push the reader to a deep reflection of himself and the world around him, through the eyes of a young woman, first full of hope for life, and then disillusioned as she grew older and became aware of the reality of a male-dominated society, always ready to belittle and exploit the experiences and abilities of young women. The direct transmission of impulsive or reasoned sensations is frequent and widespread in the collection that, therefore, highlights an instinct and a genuineness trait of her poetic vein."How do you spell love without fire? How do you measure passion without thunder? How do you spell me, without you?""I'm not your modern girl. I'm the replica of my mother's relic. The unfolding story of centuries of her truth, caged, forged and submerged in history of censored and broken spirit." Adaeze Christlene Nwankwo is a poet, writer and founder of Girls and Poems, a platform that helps girls connect with their feelings, heal through poetry, and build their self-worth through reading, writing, and sharing poems. She also advocates for the use of poetry as a therapeutic tool for young adults to navigate their world. When not volunteering and writing, she loves traveling, seeing new places, taking in new cultures, and learning about her surroundings. She teaches and mentor young girls. She champions the need for teaching one's mother tongue to children as it is a vital part of identity building. Part of her knack for cultural awareness is to learn and share history of her people, the Igbo race, while encouraging documentation through arts as well as other available mediums. She also believes poetry is a vital tool for healing, if properly channeled can become a unifying force for nations and a therapeutic device for young people, families and the larger society.
"Our journey begins with Max becoming a member of the Lisi family. Their relationship of love and trust continued to grow as they travelled through Tuscany's hills, forests, and beaches throughout the summer. During this journey, we see the blossoming of a relationship that can only exist between a dog and its owner. This book is written from the point of view of a lovely Jack Russell named Max. Although you feel you do not know Max, by the end of the first few pages, you will love him. There's no doubt that this dog will steal your heart.Through extreme empathy, the author puts herself in the shoes of her dog and sees the world through his eyes. The story highlights the love between humans and dogs in general, a relationship that brightens the lives of people of all ages." Cate Trowbridge Lisi, originally from London, following rather a traditional education, started working in the fashion industry. Always a lover of Italy and all Italian (she regularly visited an aunt who lived in Florence as a child and teenager; in her early 20s she landed a plum job in design and development with a high street design company, and never looked back. Based in Florence she established an international career working with the US initially which, which opened her travel possibilities and led to trips to the Far East, Eastern Europe and southern America. All of which gave her a richer tapestry of personal experiences on which to draw for her writing. She married in Italy and has 2 children.
This book brings hope for the future. It is a work of literature that transcends time and religion. It is haunting and surreal. Truly, the mystic lives among us in a wild state in our modern age.Writing here is like a vehicle that the Poet uses to ferry and jump inside this hoard of words treasure. You will hear wandering nomads, you will feel the presence of ancestors, you will touch memoir, you will listen so many profound thoughts in this voyage into the core of a strong Soul that embraces Nature, Time, Essence, Spirituality, Culture, Love, Life, Death, Infinite. Sometimes the sacred mixes with the profane, but there is no time for metaphysical reflections: the words emerge bursting and the ink mixes thoughts and intersections.Verses that will remain inside you.

It has been 300 years since my first name traveled through the generations, and I inherited it."Colored is an intense novel about a deep family bond that spans centuries and continents. The story is rooted in the fertile lands of the French colony Guadeloupe where, in the early 18th century, a young woman named Elsa is taken to work in a plantation as a slave, after being torn from her homeland. The crystal blue waters of the beautiful island and the healing powers of its plants won't cure the deep wound caused by this trauma. This "generational wound" will create an indissoluble connection with one of her descendants, of the same name, living in France in the 21st century. The novel combines historical accuracy and great human depth to relate the story of two women bound by the same blood, the same name and, perhaps, the same destiny. Pierre Sainte-Luce is a doctor and entrepreneur who believes in a world where cultural diversity flourishes. Colored is his first novel.

Coming to grips with the plot of this play is one of the challenges that you will be facing when watching it because nobody is who you think they are. Just like in real life when browsing on the web, it can be "just an illusion"! It is easy to say that Jim, Sally, and Greg take us along the winding road of a Cornelian drama, but the discoveries that you will endeavour to make will come from the absurdity and antics spoken and acted by the protagonists delving in irony. The absurd is central to the theme of this narrative and builds the magic of the play, shell shocked with verbal and active interactivity torpedoed at the spectators. The pedagogical aspect of this play is no mystery to anybody discovering this unique experience of an out-of-the-ordinary story leading us to laugh at our own life experiences. No F'in(g) Murder is part of a collection called The Virtual Dreaming ConneXtion, available also in French.
