Karl Heinrich Koch's masterpiece from 1897, written during the heyday of Mosel wine, takes the reader on a journey through the Mosel Valley. This new English translation, the first, includes an insightful foreword by David Schildknecht, extensive footnotes, essays by Kevin Goldberg and Lars Carlberg, and a short glossary of the amazingly complicated German vineyard designations. Included is a facsimile of the complete German original.

They say that life is a journey. This is my part of my journey. Four occasions where my sense of self is extracted and opened for opinion. Four occasions that have, over the years, altered the way I live and impacted upon my thoughts. These stories, along with the poetry, wander through my gender confusion, my sexual dysfunction and my own way of reacting, and acting, in the world that I walk. They are periods in my life which have had a great influence. These stories twist around each other to make a complete whole. Some deeper than others in intensity, but important none the less. For it is only through the telling of these stories that I hope to mend myself. To find my niche, and to make sense of the confusion nestled within my mind. The Shore was developed as a place in which I could meditate through such problems and to find answers. Created by my calling. It is a place that has become my comfort and my guide. It gave me a place of safety and offered a light for me to follow. However, The Shore can also be bad. It can take you upon meandering roads that develop into pure anarchy. It challenges how I see things. Causes me great hurt both mentally and psychically and, yet, it remains as a place I return to time after time for advice or to just escape from a world of carnage. Whether it is for good or bad purposes The Shore beckons me with great lust. So, this is my world. Full of contradictions and dichotomises as I twist my way through life without any real consideration of how I impact myself upon those around me. A lifetime of memories compacted down to a few poems, four narratives and my own opinions of the world. Free the soul

This is a book inspired by a South African Expat's passion to save the rhinos in South Africa. The idea was to create awareness about rhino poaching around the world while encouraging children (and adults!) to get creative by writing about rhinos. Raising awareness and funds for anti-poaching efforts in The Pilanesberg National Park is the ultimate goal of the Writing For Rhinos project and 100% of all funds raised through the sale of this book will go to The Pilanesberg Wildlife Trust in aid of rhino protection efforts. In this book, you will find a great mix of fact and fiction! You will find information about rhinos and why they are being poached. You will also learn all about who is working hard to save the rhinos in The Pilanesberg National Park and how these superheroes go about that very important job! There is also a list of things you can do to get involved in the fight against poaching so that you too, can help save the rhinos. In between all the important information you will find stories written by children and adults from all over the world. Some will leave you with a warm heart while others will get you thinking. We have included unique pieces of art which have been submitted by children who are standing up for our rhinos in addition to a few pieces contributed by our illustrator, Sradha Vaher.Get ready to dive and become involved in the fight to save our rhinos!

RIFT VALLEY RAMBLES continues the story told in Rambles with my Family as Wendy returns to Kenya at the age of twenty four, leaving behind the jumbled misfortunes of life at home as she sets out to find new purpose and direction for her own life. At this time Kenya was on the verge of independence from colonial rule, so it was into this charged atmosphere of anticipation and expectation that she arrives with her own hopes and plans. These are quickly challenged as it remains a recurring feature in these rambles that nothing ever goes quite to plan. Setbacks impose themselves unpredictably in the same way that became an almost inescapable theme during the tempestuous times of Wendy's childhood and growing up, but this time she has a new family and new situations to confront. Family dynamics intervene alongside a shifting tide of history that in Africa has its own momentum and drama. The observation of these events with candid humour provides an antidote to misadventure, while all this takes place on a farm in the great wide, wild and glorious Rift Valley of Kenya during a time of political change and evolution.
