The Voyage of the Beagle is Charles Darwin's account of the momentous voyage which set in motion the current of intellectual events leading to The Origin of Species. It covers Darwin's part in the second survey expedition of the ship HMS Beagle. The book is a vivid and exciting travel memoir as well as a detailed scientific field jourl covering biology, geology, and anthropology. It was written at a time when Western Europeans were exploring and charting the whole world, and it demonstrates Darwin's keen powers of observation.
More than four centuries ago, Nostradamus, a French physician and seer, predicted many events which later shook the world. The Great Fire of London, the rise of Hitler to power, the bombing of Hiroshima and gasaki, the assassition of President John Kennedy and the 9/11 terrorist attacks are some of the events he prophesied. The predictions do not follow chronological coherence and were written combining French, Greek, Latin and Occitan. It is believed that it contains agrams, mythological and astrological references, in a subjective language that makes comprehension difficult.
