Reeling from a tragic personal loss, Dwayne Morrow is drawn to a remote portion of West Virginia, looking for answers. What he finds is a community frozen in time. Welcome to Briarstaff, West Virginia, population 1,967. Founded in the early 1800s by workers of a now-defunct mining operation, the town remains home to generations of natives who continue to farm and conduct business in timeworn buildings bordering a charming town square. The grassy central plaza hosts many local events-the annual Apple Festival is currently underway. On the surface, it's a picture-perfect postcard of pure Americana where folks of all ages gather to laugh, eat, listen to music, and ride the attractions, undeterred by cell phones and other modern distractions. Following his sister's footsteps, Dwayne goes undercover to discover exactly what happened during Gina's earlier stay. After a cordial yet frosty reception, Dwayne quickly begins to suspect something much bigger than small-town politics are at play. Encountering hospitality and hostility in equal measure and unsure of whom he can trust, Dwayne soon finds himself trapped, unable to reach outside assistance. The sun has set in this sleepy little town, but secrets long buried are burbling to the surface-secrets worth killing to protect. If Dwayne can't fit the pieces together, he may never again see the light of day! Diversion is the fourth nail-biting entry in the Dwayne Morrow Mystery series.
"This book shines the light on my bitter journey in marriage and highlights things I never knew prior. By walking the reader through the simple, yet practical strategies that I implemented to escape the mess and channel my pain to success, I intend to give readers a bird's eye view of the inner workings of marital life. The book also discusses must-have ingredients to withstand the reality of marital storms when they kick in. And they are inevitable. It's a great read for already married people, and a valuable asset if you're separated, divorced or looking to get married someday. Armed with my experience and insider knowledge, I would likely have taken different paths, and my condition would have been probably distantly different. It's a shocking read through the pain, tears, and let-downs of my kind heart and love for the man I loved, his family, and everything that followed."

Hundreds of renderings were generated for this project, and the author chose the 28 best images to illustrate this story about a pig named Pan who loves to read.

"Labor racketeers, casino operators, jewelry thieves and one time Murder Inc. assassins provide an intimate look into the biggest cash flow business in American history--organized crime. They were there from the beginning. They were the author's Jewish family crime culture. Alan Geik, his sister, an attorney, and their late brother, a New York Police Department detective, were an appreciative, and often amused, audience for this history that has since become part of American folklore. These same gangsters' battles with Nazi sympathizers are a recurring theme. They relished street brawls with Henry Ford's strike breaking thugs and other Nazi sympathizers on American streets. The author's late father-in-law, Lou Lenart, the first fighter pilot in the Israeli Air force, tells of organized crime's crucial support of the Israelis in their armed struggle for an independent state in Palestine"--Amazon.com.

Tens of thousands of books have been written about the Civil War and the generals and statesmen who waged it. What about the men, the boys, who fought it? What motivated them to leave their homes, their families, their schools to fight and die against kinsmen and fellow Americans? In Answering Lincoln's Call, T.W. Harvey gives us an illustration. Based on letters written by his own forefathers, Harvey provides us a window to peek into the past and see what motivated these brave boys. In doing so, he depicts not only some of the fierce fighting that took place in the early days of the war but also of the very souls of the boys who fought in them.Dr. Larry P. Arnn, PhDPresident, Hillsdale College
