He had no idea what was about to happen, or how his prayer to be an actor would end. A classic example of a first-degree murder case from 1984 in Hollywood. Opening and closing arguments show how one LAPD officer's simple mistake turned a self-defense into a murder, and how well the Public Defender defended his client.

The third part of a trilogy that began with The Membranous Lounge, lurched uncomfortably to the left with Bleak Holiday, now coughs across the finish line with Leaves from the Smorgasbord-32 sugary pieces of fiction typed by 100 monkeys in a cold gymnasium. Leaves from the Smorgasbord explores madness, disease, deformity and dogs. It lays bare the uncomfortable lessons of damp dreams, aspirin intoxication and the stippling pattern of gun residue on a glossy forehead. It is a modern example of the, "Hey! There's a used Band-aid in the breadcrumbs!" genre of fiction.

"The Call of Cthulhu" is one of H. P. Lovecraft's best-known short stories. Written in the summer of 1926, it was first published in Weird Tales, February 1928. It is the only story written by Lovecraft in which the extraterrestrial entity Cthulhu himself makes a major appearance. It is written in a documentary style, with three independent narratives linked together by the device of a narrator discovering notes left by a deceased relative. The narrator pieces together the whole truth and disturbing significance of the information he possesses, illustrating the story's first line: "The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid island of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity; and it was not meant that we should voyage far."

  • - The Final Human Consciousness Evolution
    av Damon Sprock
    293,-

Beyond reveals evidence of three of the most sought after universal and human mysteries: 1. the creation of the universe by a spiritual entity, 2. the origin of human consciousness. 3. the location of God's spiritual dimension.Beyond unveils a highly syntactic, pragmatic paradigm, a universal, interconnecting system that places access to all preexisting potential knowledge in the possession of humanity. This new knowledge takes humankind to its final destination. We can now tap into the universal vault of information that is coded into the universal frequencies within the fabric of the universe that have their origin in the infinite, spiritual dimension of God consciousness. How the systems of the universe function are brought to Earth level and are explained as to how they work in everyday living situations. The emotional burden carried by humans due to lack of understanding of why situations and circumstances occur are lifted, freeing you to focus on your life without emotional upheavals that distract you from your destiny's path. Beneficiaries are empowered to choose anew rather than continually recall and repeat undesired patterns of resistance-attraction and self-sabotage. This knowledge will bring greater joy and prosperity into your life. All the dots of modern science and ancient scripture have been connected. The code has been cracked and now will shift the perception human consciousness has of reality, forever. This is a huge game changer for the consciousness of humankind. Once this knowledge is introduced, accepted, and then applied to your daily routines, you will receive the boost needed to surge beyond your 10-12% brain usage at this point in your history. "This knowledge is creating a quantum leap for humankind." Dr. Geoff Haselhurst, Physicist, Australia, www.spaceandmotion.com "Dr. Sprock takes, "The Secret," to finalization by revealing extraordinary insight concerning the location of God's dimension, how the universe was created, and the origin of human consciousness." Robert G. Allen, New York Times best-seller author, "Multiple Streams of Income."www.robertallen.com "We stand at the crossroads of unprecedented change. Dr. Sprock's book presents vital keys to healthier and happier living. Prepare to learn avant-garde principles that when applied are capable of changing the world for the better. • - The History of the Mysterious Sinking of the American Nuclear Submarine

    146,-

*Includes pictures *Includes contemporary accounts of the submarine's sinking *Discusses various theories surrounding its demise *Includes online resources and a bibliography for further reading "The Navy has extensively investigated the loss of Scorpion through the initial court of inquiry and the 1970 and 1987 reviews by the Structural Analysis Group. Nothing in those investigations caused the Navy to change its conclusion that an unexplained catastrophic event occurred." - Excerpt from a Navy report It takes a special type of person to serve in a nation's navy, especially on long voyages that separate men and women from their loved ones, and no service is both loved and hated as that aboard submarines, for very few people ever serve on them on a whim. For one thing, the psychological impact of being trapped for long periods underwater in tight, cramped quarters is more than many people can stand. Also, submarine service is uncharacteristically hazardous; after all, if a surface vessel is sunk, the crew has a reasonable chance of escaping death in lifeboats or being rescued out of the water by another ship. Conversely, if a submarine is badly damaged while submerged, the crew's chances of survival are at best remote. On the other hand, for those who choose to make the careers as submariners, there is no more beloved service. That is, one hopes, how it was for the 99 men who were serving on the USS Scorpion on May 22, 1968, the fateful day the submarine is believed to have sank. It appears that the crew members died quickly, but however it happened, the grief experienced by their family members dragged on for decades, exacerbated both by the Navy's lack of information about the submarine's final moments and the government's unwillingness to share what little knowledge it had. It is easy in hindsight to criticize the military for its secrecy, but it must be remembered that the Scorpion disappeared at the height of the Cold War, and therefore, little could be said publicly about its fate. Coincidentally, 3 other nuclear submarines suffered mysterious sinkings the same year, and the Cold War adversaries were interested in locating them and gleaning any secrets or technology that they could from the other side's bad luck. Indeed, it was only after the fall of the Soviet Union that the truth could be told, bringing closure to family members and a dark lesson in espionage to the American people. The Disappearance of the USS Scorpion: The History of the Mysterious Sinking of the American Nuclear Submarine looks at one of the Navy's enduring mysteries. Along with pictures of important people, places, and events, you will learn about the USS Scorpion like never before.
