The spiritual warfare continues in the second installment of the Opposing Realms saga. The powers of darkness had suffered a major defeat and had been weakened. Reinforcements are enlisted to strengthen their hold. Alex faces a battle he never thought he would have to face as a believer. The angelic warriors battle a new foe, but it is one that is very familiar to Rehah. Once again, the power of God's Word and the effectiveness of fervent prayer prevail over the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Rick Ellinger, author of The Gifts of the Guard, The Little Red Truck Trilogy and The Europa Project sci-fi trilogy, shares the ongoing story of the conflict between the realm of the flesh and the realm of the Spirit. Based on actual events.

The Civil War: even today, it is arguably the most divisive subject in American history. Why did the southern states secede from the Union? What did the north hope to achieve by fighting against the south? Was Abraham Lincoln really an abolitionist? Why is Ulysses S. Grant the most famous Union general, when he didn't take command of all the Union armies until near the very end of the war? How did Robert E. Lee end up having to deal with issues left unresolved by George Washington's will, and was he a hero or a traitor? This book provides an exhaustive summary, not just of the major battles and major personalities of the Civil War, but of the political issues that brought the United States to the point of a terrible internal conflict. You'll learn how the founding fathers predicted a great national conflict over slavery, and how Thomas Jefferson's political philosophies influenced secessionist thinking in the south. From the history of the abolitionist movement to the election of 1860 and the creation of the Republican party, this book will give you all the facts you need to understand how the Civil War started, why Lincoln was so fed up with his generals, and how the war affects American society today.

Let's go safari is an idea which came on me after visiting Game Parks in Northern Tanzania. Most of the information regarding wild life is given in poetic form. However, this is not a reference book on wild life. What is inside the book is mainly touristic admiration of some of the most wonderful Game parks we have. This vision could be a of a conversationalist, nature lover or just someone who likes to see that beautiful things remain beautiful. So let's go on this Safari together....

The last thing Jo Burkhart ever thought she'd do was have a one night stand... But when a little harmless, coffee shop flirting with high-powered Broadway and television director, Benjamin Paul, leads to a steamy proposition, how could a romance novelist like Jo resist? The last thing Ben Paul needed was to fall in love... But when he lands in bed with a down-to-earth, genuine Jo-a woman who doesn't want anything from him but an afternoon of passion-his heart gets carried away. He can't let it end with one night. The last thing either of them needed was for their worlds to collide... But when Ben's career implodes under the weight of salacious rumors, and Jo finds herself on the verge of losing her family's house in Maine, they may be the only people who can save each other from disaster... ...unless being together creates an even bigger disaster for both. When Michael Knapp brings his lover Dan Biggs home to meet his parents, he doesn't expect things to go smoothly. His mother's been trying to marry him off for years, and sometimes he isn't even sure his father knows he exists. He has always felt like the shadow son, competing with his terminally stupid older brother and smart-mouthed little sister for his parents' attention. Coming out to them over dinner seemed like the perfect opportunity to finally get noticed. But an unexpected phone call interrupts his announcement -- Aunt Evie, the family matriarch, is dead. With Dan in tow, Michael follows his family to Sugar Creek, where he spent his summers growing up, to prepare for the funeral. Amid an overabundance of memories and relatives, Michael's world begins to slip. His dysfunctional family, Evie's death, and an old friend's confession all threaten to smother him. Worse, in his grief and confusion he seems determined to inadvertently push everyone away, including his lover. Can he and Dan move beyond his family and his past to a new life together, before Michael's insecurities tear them apart?
These meditative poems reflect a serious regard for the concept of time as subjective, a conception mediated through dream-experience. Such a conception is used by the poet as a principal vehicle for human healing, and the language invokes a largely universal voice that resonates with deep human needs - especially those conveyed by sound and meditative reflection. Informed by Allen Ginsberg's suggestion that we do well to "listen to what we are thinking," they were largely constructed in solitude, and in tranquil, silent environments, where the author was able to shut out virtually all distractions. The effect of the poems is to transfer that quietude, and its transformative possibilities, over to the meditative reader.

Developed as a response to Modernist art and literature, this collection of poetry and art challenges the way we appreciate artistic genre. Instead of creating art inspired by poetry or the poetry inspired by art, this work melds that two into a cohesive work, with neither being the progenitor of the other. It examines the history of blackness and looks at that history through a modern lens, changinghow we see our heroes, how we see ourselves and how we see society. It questions how we communicate and how we amuse ourselves. It redraws our innate sense of beauty. It examines gender roles and abuse.Created by a mother and daughter team, this book of poetry provides image to imagery. With Katerina Canyon's poems and Aja Canyon's illustrations, this work is a conversation between them as they examine what it means to operate within the world as black women.
"There are plenty of reasons as to why your dad wants to get into contact with you through indirect means, the first and most obvious being that he is a secret agent. I mean, duh.""No I mean why now? I've been working for the FSS for several years now and have done nothing to hide the fact that I am a federal agent from any other agency. In fact when I joined the FSS I was hoping that my dad would hear about it and come to me immediately, but that never happened. So why is he all of a sudden so interested in finding me?""Are you just completely disregarding the fact that due to recent events you have been put under grade A government protection and your life is at risk via numerous outside sources?" Monique looked at me like I was completely blind. "I know you're used to living dangerously, Hannah, but this is a little extreme even for you. Your dad might just be concerned for your wellbeing!""Or he might be concerned with the dollar sign on my forehead." I muttered. I pulled up an article dated just days ago from one of the other agencies that the FSS occasionally works with, my name it's headline. Apparently I was worth a pretty penny overseas; they want me dead or alive. "What is this, an old western film?""At least they don't have a poster with your face alongside the article." Monique commented as she read the piece over my shoulder. "Although that would be pretty hilarious if you ask me. Wanted: Hannah Clark for being a badass."

She's a shy, sultry vixen, and she grabs a hold of me so hard, I can't let go. Just when I thought I'd built strong walls around my heart, I discover her walls are reinforced with steel. She's so pure, so innocent. Against all odds, I want her. I'll do anything to have her, to make her mine.
I am not a proper archaeologist nor an anthropologist nor an ethnologist. I am no "scholar" of any sort. But I am very grateful to scholars for their sound work. I have found hints, suggestions for what I say here in all kinds of scholarly books, from the Yoga and Plato and St. John the Evangel and the early Greek philosophers like Herakleitos down to Fraser and his "Golden Bough," and even Freud and Frobenius. Even then I only remember hints--and I proceed by intuition. This leaves you quite free to dismiss the whole wordy mass of revolting nonsense, without a qualm.
