This book is a bringing together of many aspects of the experiences of my Christian journey. As time has unfolded, there have been many occasions where I have felt a subtle yet strong tug on my heart and mind to put down on paper what has been presented to me by the Holy Spirit. All of these one to two page essays have foundations in daily life and through contact with people, places, animals, and things. I hope that through these writings the reader can develop a deeper sense of faith in our Jesus. I also wish for the reader to gain a sense of hope for the future promise of eternal life.

In the world of Jesus's disciples, salt was very valuable. So the disciples understood the reference when Jesus told them that they were "the salt of the earth." When Jesus spoke those words to his disciples, he wasn't just saying that they were good people. He was speaking about the foundation that they shared in Him and the expectations He had for their lives as His followers. Jesus was declaring the vision for their ministry-how they were to live, serve, and lead in faithfulness. He was speaking about the attitude, character, and conduct that believers in Jesus Christ must exhibit if they are to be witnesses for the kingdom of God.A Woman of Salt is an in-depth Bible study for women that presents a timely discussion of challenges women face in living a disciplined and godly lifestyle in today's culture of self-fulfillment. The study focuses on character traits that Christian women must nurture in their lives to remain distinguished from the world as kingdom women. It engages women to go deeper into the Word to understand the importance of a salty lifestyle to their influence in the home, in the community, in the marketplace, and in the church.

Faith is the required amount of belief for any human being involved in an interaction with God. It is impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him (Hebrews 11:6, Message). The mass, motion, and measurement of faith are kingdom bylaws that are irrevocable because of the everlasting counsel of God. He has provided this evidence in eternity past, eternity future, and in our present state of being. We, as believers, must make a personal commitment to have the "God kind of faith."Faith is a spiritual quantity of our lifespan from beginning to end. As the kingdom device by which the gifts are received through salvation. Salvation is through faith, not through the custody and ownership of the law.Faith is simply not allowing the ills of our past or uncertainties of the future to hinder the trust we have in God today.

Webster's dictionary defines myth as "a thing having only an unverifiable or imaginary existence." How fitting, then, to refer to this widely accepted concept of spiritual death as a myth. Over thirty years ago, I came to a place of understanding where the concept seemed to fit the events of the Garden of Eden. Admittedly, I never really challenged the teaching. Today, most Christian believers have accepted spiritual death as the fulfillment of God's warning to Adam and Eve: "For in the day that thou eat thereof thou shalt surely die" (Genesis 2:17).And if spiritual death is a reality, then the requirements that Jesus told Nicodemus to be "born again to see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3) seem to fit as well. Man has spiritually died and now needs to be born again of the spirit. With our limited intellect, we simply love to have everything figured out, boxed up, and placed on the shelf. For the believer, as you spend time in the Word of God, you soon realize that much is unclear and most is left to faith. Thankfully, there are times when the person of the Holy Spirit speaks a nugget of truth into our spirits and a clearer revelation bursts forth.Perhaps you will find nothing new in this discourse; perhaps it will shake up your theology just a bit. It is my prayer that the Holy Spirit will illuminate your spirit to the truth of what was really lost in the garden transgressions and what Jesus Christ requires of each of His disciples. Secondly, that you will discover God's intentions for the marriage relationship. And finally, stir your spirit to more diligently and prayerfully study your Bible, like the Bereans found in the book of Acts, and "search the Scriptures daily whether those things be so" (Acts 17:11 KJV).
