In 2004, thirty-five years after she died while a patient in a mental hospital in Las Vegas, New Mexico, Nana came to her granddaughter, Carol Wawrychuk, in a vision."Take me home, Carol. Take me home." Little did Wawrychuk know those few words would take her on an odyssey that lasted two years and literally uncovered thousands of lost souls in a forgotten and eroding cemetery. Expecting to find a manicured cemetery with flowers and century old headstones, she instead found cement slabs with dates and names crudely etched by hand, mangled metal markers stamped with patient numbers and human remains that found their way to the surface.A Letter to Nana is not only about a cemetery cleanup, slicing through rolls of bureaucratic red tape, but it is a journey of Wawrychuk's reliance on God. In her quest to find Nana, she unintentionally uncovered skeletons in the closet and realized she had to free herself from her own barbed-wire fences. Through acceptance, redemption, courage and faith, Wawrychuk discovers the destination is the journey.

Inspired by people who shared the beauty of laughter with her up until the day they died, Patricia Daletas recently found a way to put down on paper an accumulation of life events that led to one conclusion: Laughter comes with healing. Laughter brings joy. Laughter can be found in even the most difficult of situations. Laughter is a gift from God and can help sustain the heart for a lifetime. In her book Laugh 'til You Die, Patricia endeavors to take her readers on a journey through everyday life, with all its ups and downs, and help them to see that no matter the circumstances life might throw them into, laughter really is the best medicine. Through the sharing of personal experience and scripture, Laugh 'til You Die shows how laughter coupled with faith can bring joy to the soul, to the end of this life, and into the better life that awaits the child of God.Laugh 'til You Die is intended to be read as much or as little at a time as desired to refresh the heart. To provide hope for a weary soul and give confirmation to the life full of joy and laughter that it really is okay to be lighthearted in any circumstance.

  • - In View of Creation and Fall
    av Sungku Kang
    207,-

Salvation history can be thought of as twofold: one is that God Himself personally takes action and the other is God has humans act. An example of the latter is Exodus in which God had Moses lead the Israelites from Egypt to Canaan. The skin garment that God made with slain animals for the fallen Adam is an example of the former.Adam's fall is the very starting point of God's saving acts in human history. In His saving acts, God utilized his sin as the means of salvation. However, God's plan on saving human beings began far ahead of the creation of Adam, for omniscient God already knew of Adam's fall before the world had begun. As Apostle Peter confirms, God's will to save lost sinners was planned from the very beginning and Jesus Christ was chosen before the creation of the world as our Savior. In His saving plan, Almighty God reversed all the negatives that would arise from Adam's fall into positives, triumphing over them by the cross. We need to be clothed in the robe of righteousness, the garments of salvation through Jesus Christ. The fig leaf coverings sewn by human efforts cannot cover our nakedness. In essence, the grace of salvation originates from God, not from fallible humans. Current human history has been heading towards a thorough restoration of God's image. When the full and perfect restoration of God's image is accomplished, salvation history will finally be complete. Although heavily infected by sin, we have constantly been advancing towards the perfect restoration of God's image and likeness. When Jesus Christ returns to us, our defiled image of God will be transformed into His perfect likeness. On the day when He appears, as Apostle John says, we shall be like Him. That day will be the very end of human history. On that very day, at long last, God's redemptive plan will be completed.

  • - Laying a Biblical Foundation for Mentoring Returning Citizens: Training Guide
    av Robert F Vann
    290,-

A Strictly Biblical Perspective Ministries Inc. has strategically designed a biblical cognitive character-based training curriculum. It is designed to equip pastors, chaplains, and faith-based instructors with insight for preparing reentry volunteers as mentors to be matched with returning citizens upon their release from prison or while incarcerated. The curriculum is designed with six modules to assist faith-based volunteers in developing a biblical perspective into God's fourfold purpose for their lives: relationships, character development, service, and reproduction. The fifth module is designed to address the spiritual warfare that ministry leaders and faith-based volunteers will encounter in mentoring the "returning citizen population." The final module is designed to assist ministry leaders and faith-based volunteers in understanding how to assist returning citizens in overcoming the effects of alcohol and drug addiction. This course will build the capacity of members within the faith-based community to minister to returning citizens in restoration from crime and addiction. The curriculum is designed to enhance the quality of care to the "ex offender population" by producing spiritually mature mentors walking in close fellowship with God. The curriculum is extremely comprehensive and highly interactive and will assist volunteers in developing a functional understanding of their roles in mentoring returning citizens through the use of scriptures, a series of individual and small group exercises.

"There was so much to see with her newly formed eyes, but her attention was fixed on the glorious being in front of her. The light of His face illuminated the entire world around her, and for a moment that seemed like eternity, she saw and understood love."From Creation to the cross and on to the Lord's resurrection, Eve deals with her penalty and looks ahead through Biblical history to see in her dreams the "future" of her offspring as she lives out her life on earth after the fall. Eve, Wake Up is a look at the highlights of the Old Testament and the people whose lives represent the golden thread of God's plan through the ages, from the very beginning of time to the birth, death, and resurrection of the Savior of humanity, Jesus the Christ. Eve, Wake Up is a fictional account of original Eve drawn out of the author's imagination but founded on Biblical truth recorded in the Holy Word of God. The author continues to share her lifelong passion, for the deep and personal intimacy with God through the story of Eve.For more about the author, please visit her website: www.thespiritiscalling.com

  • - Volume 1
    av Ethan W Moses

Jesus said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you,” and He has certainly made good on that promise for the past thirty years. During this time, Jesus has walked with me while providing insights and realizations based on Godly principles that have molded me into who and what I am today. It is my hope that, as you read each devotional in this book, you get a sense of how God goes about His business of molding and shaping us into the image of His precious Son.I once heard a story about how Michelangelo created the statue of David. He simply removed everything that wasn’t David. And so it is with us. God keeps chipping away, removing everything that prevents us from being what He created us to be, and from doing the things he created us to do. I have a long way to go, but I am excited about what God has done and is doing in my life. I look forward to, one day, looking into a mirror and seeing, for the first time, the masterpiece God creates from a life that was once so ugly and covered in sin. Praise the holy name of Jesus!

As a highly sensitive person (HSP) these are my thoughts and reflections as I saw the world around me and as I perceived things to be. As an adult I see why I have been misunderstood and perceived as difficult. The nature of an HSP is different. It is genetic. I saw things different. This book is for ages 18-35. Young girls can relate and the events in our lives that we let define us and we overcome and survive. We have influences and perspectives from adults, parents, and friends, and then our demon and friendly voices that all fight for a place in this big world. A little girl fighting demons, emotional neglect from parents, cannot create an HSP but it can contribute to more difficult understandings of self and unnecessary hardship. Even if parents provide for their children and they have everything they need, being emotionally neglected for a child that is a highly sensitive person is almost as having nothing at all, so search for self becomes even more complicated than if parents are able to provide emotional support.

  • - The First Christmas Mourning
    av John Raterman
    137,-

There is no greater loss than the death of a child. The Shepherd's Gift: The First Christmas Mourning tells the story of a father who suffers the death of his daughter, the pain and anguish of his grieving, and the healing provided by the birth of a Child. This fictional story set in a small town in Judea more than two thousand years ago tells the story of the first Christmas from the perspective of this father broken by loss. The reader is left wondering whether the shepherd gave a gift or received a gift. For any parent or grandparent who has lost a child, whether from illness, accident, violence, or war, the joy the world celebrates at Christmas with the birth of the Child brings bitter pain to those who have lost their child. My hope is that The Shepherd's Gift: The First Christmas Mourning provides some measure of comfort to the grieving, peace to the restless, healing to the heartsick, and direction to the lost. May your tears nourish new growth in your heart and return the joy of Christmas to you and yours.

  • - Christ and His Bride
    av Kim Huff
    207,-

The Holy Wedding is a six-week study revealing God's original intent to have a people in which He could share His love through an intimate relationship-like a marriage. God's design would eventually lead to a holy wedding between Himself and His people. We pick up the thread of this beautiful picture in Genesis and follow it through all the way to Revelation. The Bible employs various imagery in describing God's people, but the most intimate and affection portrayal is that of a bride. Realizing God loves His bride passionately, emotionally, longingly, protectively, faithfully, and jealously is essential because it is transforming. A power is awakened when our hearts are assured that we are deeply loved as there is no fear in love; perfect love drives out fear (1 John 4:18). This is a love to be cherished!I hope you will join me in exploring the magnificent story of Christ and His Bride as we anticipate the day that we will behold our Bridegroom face-to-face.

Imagine the isolation of a place where, within several miles of home, there were no people other than immediate family-no modern conveniences, telephones, television, internet, newspaper or mail delivery, supermarkets or shopping malls. Imagine a terrain sometimes more hospitable to mesquite trees, rattlesnakes, and jackrabbits than to human inhabitants. Imagine hot, dry weather that could change abruptly as a blue norther rolled in across the plains, dropping temperatures thirty or forty degrees before nightfall. Could you thrive in such an environment? The author did, and she reflects on these vicissitudes with both nostalgia and humor.

The truth of history, when finally recovered, is more fascinating than any tale of fiction could ever be! This treatise of history will enrich and enliven your understanding of your origin and the events that shaped and formed the world in which you live. When the account in the Bible is applied to Jewish tradition, the record preserved by Josephus and other ancient historians, and the ancient Greek traditions called myths, much can be learned about the preflood world, which, heretofore, has been considered lost to human knowledge! Here within it is proven that history of ancient times and history contained in the Bible can be beautifully harmonized! The Bible is not a history textbook. It is a guidebook! Without it, nothing important in ancient history can be rightly understood. But this does not mean all history is recorded in the Bible. Scripture is the starting point of study. It opens up solutions to secular records that could not otherwise be understood. This exposition begins at creation and concludes at the time when Joseph, Job, and the Israelites are all living in Egypt at a fabulous period in biblical history. The intelligence that created is outside the creation and thus is not affected by time, space, and matter. A spirit being is not composed of matter. You have to have space and matter for time to exist. You have to have matter for there to be space and time. Without matter and time, you would not have space. This continuum had to come together simultaneously as a result of intelligent design.

Raising a child with autism is like living a scavenger hunt where once you collect all of the necessary pieces on the list, that list completely changes.Finding Leigha's Voice will put you right in the heart of raising Leigha, my twenty-seven-year-old autistic daughter who recently stopped talking. The ride is full of ups and downs, zigs and zags, and quite a few miracles along the way. Somewhere in the middle of this winding road, I realized that Leigha was also raising me-to a totally new perspective, a totally new way of loving, and a totally new way of listening: by heart. From keeping my eyes and ears searching for God ("God, Are You Listening?") to holding on to a sense of humor ("Please Don't Be a Restraining Order"), I find that there is one constant, clear truth: We are not alone. We have never been alone. We will never be alone. There is always hope because there is always God.

  • - With Hindsight to Help Other Single Sisters
    av Mary M Murray
    159,-

After being married most of her life, Mary never thought about writing a book entitled Single: With Hindsight to Help Other Single Sisters. It brought to surface not only her dating experience, because it's not an isolated one, but also those whom she has spoken with who have gone through similar situations. If you have been a Christian for a period of time, your life and lifestyle have changed by the power of God and you don't respond to situations as you used to. Most of the time, it's for the better. You become more loving, trusting, faithful, and compassionate. Hopefully, you'll have more wisdom to use it and receive this information as an eye-opener. Then it can become fruitful and beneficial for the body of Christ. And the world will be a better place when we all live for others and not just for ourselves.I'm sorry to say that being found by a good, decent Christian man with values, who is a doer of the Word of God and not a hearer only, isn't easy, but they are out there. If you find yourself in one or more of the predicaments mentioned, pay attention. Your test may be a testimony to others. To God be the glory for the great things He has done for me.

In I Never Wanted to Be a Princess - Good Thing or How I lost 380 Pounds without Diet or Exercise, the events are true life experiences, including the issues with the chocolate syrup can.It is a love story, in a sense, sometimes sad, sometimes angry, more times humorous, with a little sarcasm and inspiration thrown in for good measure. The intent-to inspire others to keep up the good fight. Punching a forty-pound long bag helps. We all have storms in our lives, and many have had more "him-a-canes" and "her-a-canes" than me, but with perseverance, you can turn the page on a new chapter of your life. Even when things go . . . not so much as planned. My situation is not uncommon but is one of the hardest things I have dealt with. Writing this book has given me the insight and desire to go on and want a better life and "find myself" as they say. By doing so, I have gained a healthier, happier, and more successful life. I managed to get through life's trials and tribulations, even when I ran out of chocolate chips. A sense of humor helps to get through.I prefer jeans and a T-shirt over formal attire but can clean up when needed. I think tomboys have more fun. I can't really judge because I have never been a princess and, most likely, never will be.I begin a diet on Monday and usually quit Monday night or early Tuesday. I rather laugh than cry. I have a deep faith and not going to second-guess that there is a man or woman above that helps us through life with our best interests at heart. I did have a painful weight loss. Tipping the scales broke my heart, but this is not a diet book. Seeing me, you would know I am not a diet expert. From these pages, I hope you are encouraged, get plenty of laughs, and gain a deeper understanding of what it is like to sit on the cold hard toilet seat of life.
