  • - The Display of Inner Strength That God Has Placed Within Each of Us
av Patricia L Brown, Inell Richardson Claypool & Vivian G Christopher
    185,-

Each one of us has a plan that God has allowed in our lives, which may include suffering, loss, disease, disabilities, abuse, hardship, rejection, and persecution, and you are left with asking God many questions: Why? How long? and Where are You? After your battle is over, and the dust settles, you will have your answers and even wonder how you are still standing in victory amid the scars and wounds you bare. Before endurance, we must have faith, and our faith is what enables us to endure. As believers, we may experience life events that seem to destroy us at the core of our being, causing us to faint and lose hope.As you read these chapters, your perspective of the events in your life, in the lives of your family and friends will change. You will be encouraged to have faith and endure every situation, knowing the Lord has never left you nor forsaken you. God's love for you is so great, which causes us to endure because His plans for us are good and our hope is in Him."How do you stand during the trials and tribulations that are experienced during the course of your life? God gives you endurance and encouragement so that you ultimately glorify Him" (Romans 15:5-6, NIV).

My daughter wanted a pet she could hold. My aunt had purchased a parakeet for my cousin, and they were enjoying the pet. We lived in a village with under three thousand people, so we could certainly not buy a pet there. Ten miles north, there was the town of Bloomington, Illinois, which had two shopping malls at that time. One of them had a large Woolworth store, which had a department that sold birds and everything you needed. My daughter assumed the responsibility of caring for Chippie and teaching him to talk. If birds have a personality, he had a good one and everyone in the family made him a part of their life. He actually seemed part of the family, and we wanted him to enjoy his life with us. You may wonder why we only got one bird, but we knew that if you want your parakeet to talk, you only get one. Chippie was always ready to climb on your finger when you touched his chest. He actually seemed to enjoy being stroked over his head and down his back. I was amazed at the length of the sentence he learned when he said, “Chippie come over here so I can get you.” My husband was clever in what he did, so Chippie could enjoy lunch with him. He was A Great Family Pet.

It will also help you to recognize that those people are not in your life accidentally, but have been designed as potential divine encounters before you were ever born, according to Ephesians 2:10. We were made to be relational, and he has called us to be “God with skin on” to impact the world around us.Are we looking for those opportunities, or just making it through our day without giving or getting the blessings he has planned for us and those in our lives? Pastor Leonard J. Buchanan Sr., affectionately known as Pastor Buck, was a high-spirited minister with unconventional aspirations. One night in 2036, he dreamed he was the leader of a group of Christians who had colonized the moon to create a sin-free environment. After he awoke, he believed God had directed him to fulfill the dream and create a land of righteousness. Next he faced a host of challenges in his effort to raise tens of millions of dollars for the unprecedented project. Although there was much skepticism within the Christian community, he successfully pitched the idea to a global audience and was eventually able to secure the necessary funding to make his dream a reality. Pastor Buck’s reputation and credibility was now on the line as he pursued this once in a lifetime opportunity to bring the kingdom of heaven down to the surface of the moon.Pastor Buck coordinated with the National Cosmic Administration and the Lunar Land Management Bureau to transport five hundred church members to the newly constructed Jesus Colony! Initially, everything was fantastic as colonists described their conditions as being second only to heaven. However, within months, policies were established in order to achieve and maintain an acceptable level of righteousness. Ultimately, their natural pursuit of righteousness led to intimidation, strife, and fear. Lunar Crime Enforcement agents began to investigate Jesus Colony when family members on earth notified members of Congress about disturbing and criminal allegations against Pastor Buck. Now under pressure, Pastor Buck did everything within his power to maintain ultimate control of the colonists as his dream faded before his eyes. Afterward, a series of unimaginable events transpired which placed Jesus Colony under further intense scrutiny. Finally, the self-righteous decisions of Pastor Buck forever changed his family, congregation, and the bewildered colonists.

    av Brenda Blessing Ratliff

The slant-roofed chicken coop only had three sides, but it would work until her father was home long enough to build a real house. Even though it had a dirt floor, it was definitely an upgrade from sleeping in the car. A Life Worthwhile––No Life is Ordinary is a true story that chronicles the life of a young, East Texas girl as she cares for a sick and dying mother. Homelessness was fairly common during the Great Depression, but assuming the responsibilities as head of the household at age nine was not. The life of Joy Jenkins, an ordinary farm girl, was extraordinary.Joy met the love of her life in the third grade when a little redheaded, freckle-faced boy smiled at her. Their lives were so intertwined that her story includes his. After his death, Joy’s solitary existence was altered by a dementia diagnosis. The book includes details of her children’s journey as they struggled through the devastation of each stage of this disease and made decisions on her behalf. It is a must read for families who have loved ones facing Alzheimer’s, dementia, or any other debilitating mental disease. It will make you smile, laugh, and cry.
