As a police officer, you are in a brotherhood much like the marines or a special operations-type soldier. You would do anything for your brother, even die for them. In the years 2016 and 2017, there were a lot of rookie cops getting killed in the line of duty. This hurts you to the core. One night I was crying out to the Lord and asked him, "Lord, what can I do to help? My brothers and sisters are being killed every day." I was beside myself with grief, and I believe I heard God speak to me in a still, small voice, "Give them your knowledge. Give them your years of experience." So I wrote a book. During this time, survival shows were all the rage. So the title Survival Handbook for Rookies (Rookie Cops) was born. I've held onto it, waiting for the Lord to say when, and I believe he is saying, "The time is now!" If this book helps one person, it will have been all worth it.
Follow Destiny as she goes through her daily toddler life with her two trusty dogs. Every day, Sam and Hank are frolicking with Destiny as she explores nature, until Hank becomes sick. Destiny must go through a big change in her life that she never knew could happen. Luckily, she has her mom, dad, and Sam to help guide her and hold her hand through it. During this journey, Destiny teaches her parents how to heal and find a new normal while trusting God at the same time. They always taught Destiny that there is a purpose for everything, and God controls it all. Little did they know that in her young years, she really held on to that and will show them just what it is to stand on God's promises and trusting His timing. As they approach having to make the tough decision of letting go, Destiny surprises them with her own prayer where she asks the question, "Lord where are they now?" She understood that we all have a time to go, but she doesn't find it fair. She wants Lord to answer her question because she doesn't understand why her best friend had to go home.To everyone's surprise, Lord answered her back with the sweetest answer that gave her strength and understanding. She wiped her eyes and shared the answer. That night, they slept well and woke up refreshed, but with a little bit of a heavy heart, until they see something in the sky that puts a smile on their face because it just confirms what Lord told Destiny the night before.
Growing up is inevitable...right? Physically, yes, but in the world of adulthood, forgetting has become a habit, a state of mind, a behavior we fall prey to. We often walk around feeling disconnected, misunderstood, or frustrated with where we are in life. Sometimes we are going from place to place taking bits and pieces of experiences or lessons but not truly applying all that we have learned in those places. Just as a tree is planted and its roots start to really connect with the soil to grow, we need this same thing in our relationship with God. When a tree is rooted in fertile soil, you will see the fruit of that soil. It is receiving all that it needs to grow such as nutrients, water, and sunshine. We can tell by the fruit or the leaves the tree is producing that it is well nurtured and taken care of. This is what happens to us when we deeply root or connect ourselves to God and his Word. Join in on this journey of life lessons and how being deeply rooted in God in every area of your life will cause you to grow and create beautiful fruit.
And now - it is time. And as God has arranged and prepared. As the scriptures have been foretold - for the crucifixion of Jesus is now but days away! Jesus had been preparing His disciples for the time of this week. And now, we jump into the Word. Jesus and His disciples are now leaving the Temple. And they are heading across the way up towards the Mount of Olives. For the time of Jesus' last Passover observance with His Disciples, is before Him. And then, He transforms His last Passover with His Disciples into The Last Supper [Matt 26:17-19].So picture yourself standing in the courtyard - in view is the Mount of Olives. Jesus has just finished rebuking the Scribes and Pharisees in his telling the crowds and disciples the seven woes to their hypocritical faith [as recorded within Matthew 23] and now Jesus and His disciples are preparing to leave the courtyard, and you overhear the disciples note to Jesus the splendor of the TempleAnd in return reply, Jesus offers an unexpected comment [actually Jesus offers prophecy that He presents back to them]. And now, the journey to cross over from the temple courtyard to the Mount of Olives begins.
Life is about change, but for Francene, change was almost insuperable. After the loss of her best friend, her mother, Francene struggled to find purpose and direction. The thoughts of her difficulties in school and her inability to read at her grade level were a continual embarrassment only offset by certain skill sets. The constant in Francene's life was change. Being alone was temporary. A glistening pearl and a small displaced boy would soon offer camaraderie, adventure, and mysteries of the past. When prospects of a frog hunt are preceded by legendary tales of Miguel Vasquez the glassblower and the absence of Francene's father, the wheels are set in motion for an adventure.Inspiration strikes when Francene inadvertently finds the Vasquez treasure glowing in the mud of Boggs Pond. When frogs talk, something has gone astray, especially when the specter of the "Most Serene Highness" "Captain General" Santa Anna appears. He is angry. The week of San Jacinto Day in the classroom is truly a learning experience. Celebrating Texas independence from Mexico at the Battle of San Jacinto was not Santa Anna's shining moment. He was not impervious to the Texans' heated vengeance and shouts of "Remember the alamo. Remember Goliad."What do a displaced boy, a mussel fairy, a glassblower, a cook, a kidnapped explorer, and a scientist have in common? Rosita's Wrath--an epic plan with an assist from the specter of Santa Anna. After a purported, phenomenal Saint Elmo's fire guides the Vasquez treasure to the depths of the Gulf via an electrical storm, the treasure resurfaces twice. When "whispers from the wind" reach the parrot woman, the epic plan and "the day of the animals" begin marking the end of a "well-known secret"--sort of.
Scars. We all have them. Some are physical and others, emotional. We were injured in one way or another. Our physical scars are quite visible, but our emotional scars are not. These internalized misfortunes remain with us, as if stored away below deck. Buried feelings, without warning, can be triggered and abruptly resurface at any time. Please know, you are not alone. Each of us carries invisible wounds, and we may even cry invisible tears. I can identify and fully understand.Unlike healing physical pain, there are no ointments or lotions to treat our fractured emotions. I guess that's why we try to repress them inside. Yet the biblical psalmist said, "He restores my soul." And that restoration is available to you and me. No pain has to be in vain.Telling stories of God's renewing strength through personal setbacks, trials, and adversity, I share what I believe to be enlivening pathways to lasting wholeness.Join me in an adventure toward soothing our silent suffering and healing our hidden hurts. The body and soul are connected. By addressing one, the other is likewise affected. May God graciously touch those deep recesses of pain accumulated along life's path. Hope awaits.Cornelius W. We do not need to fear Satan in the world near as much as we need to fear him in the church. As in my first book, this addition seeks to evaluation the present condition of the church in the world. The workers of iniquity do not bother those from whom there is no threat. For that reason, this addition seeks to look deep within the modern church to sees where the modern world has slipped in among us, because we were unaware. And so, the Threat from Within Revisited, come to the reader with eyes wide open, exposing the threat of Secular Humanism within the church, the assault on the family, and the unceasing attack on Biblical inerrancy. Let's look at the path of encroachment, brick by brick, that has taken the church to the brink of becoming irrelevant to a lost world looking for a Savior.
The Caterpillar Who Wasn't tells the story of Worgley Wassail, a little green caterpillar who spends the lazy summer days munching garden greens and marveling at the garden world around him. Unbeknownst to Worgley, an arduous task lies ahead of him. Worgley will go through an exhausting metamorphosis to be transformed into his heart's desire--a beautiful butterfly. The Caterpillar Who Wasn't is the fictionalized account of what, in God's creation, is a true scientific miracle.
My creative writings are God-inspired as well as friend-inspired that I have been working on since I've been in child care. Being a teacher to babies up to two year olds as well as a Spanish teacher to all ages; I'm always making up stories and songs, some longer than others. Most of my writings do rhyme. Most of my writings are meant to be serious, but there are a few silly writings and songs included. Most of my poems have history and biblical references to them. Of course, there are romantic poems and a fairy-tale story. My writings include poetry, songs, and a story. All three categories have both English and Spanish included in them. My creative writings are meant for all ages, male and female, believers and nonbelievers. They're also for mothers and fathers, grandparents, and children. The poetry part of my book is broken down into four chapters: preaching/sharing the gospel, educational, holiday, and random things that inspired me. The songs are all Christian-based songs. All my writings have some sort of message to them. With four chapters of poems, three chapters of songs, and one chapter with a story, my creative writings are full of wonders that come from the heart and give hope and encouragement.

Three Maine coon kittens were a gift to Colette from her grandfather, who had been caring for the orphaned cats until they were old enough to feed themselves. But the work and responsibilities involved in the care of the kittens left Colette wondering if she was up to the task. The kittens thrived under the care of Colette and her younger brothers. The grown cats returned to the wild. Colette matured with the responsibilities and tasks she had accomplished. She was proud that in her small way, she had helped nature save a precious species, coon cats.
Have you ever asked yourself the question "What made the church in the book of Acts so powerful?" Perhaps you have asked yourself the question "Why does the modern church looked profoundly different than the church recorded in the book of Acts?" In Commissioned by Jesus, Recapturing the Heart of the Early Church, we will carefully examine how the early church devoted themselves to what Jesus taught during His earthly ministry. In this book, you will gain an understanding of the importance of thinking with an apostolic mindset; the importance of prayer; the need for signs, wonders, and miracles; the role of joy in the life of a believer; being faithful to follow Jesus until death; and so much more. Are you ready to be commissioned by Jesus and see the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord and of His Christ?
Simon's name appeared only once (few hours) in the New Testament in the life of Jesus. Simon is as a common name for Jewish, Greeks, and other people during that time as Joe or Charlie is today. Yet one of these Simons, called Simon of Cyrene, became a figure larger than life in God's plan of salvation for mankind. They called him "of Cyrene" because he was born in a city named Cyrenaica or Cyrene and whose role in the life of Jesus and in God the Father's plan of salvation was to help Jesus carry his cross, during more than half of Jesus's journey to Calvary.According to history, this man was an unknown man, an African from Cyrene in North Africa, east of Egypt, whose life changed forever.Note that it will be very nice if in every fifth station of the cross, Simon of Cyrene would show up as he really was a black man.
One afternoon during a quiet time with the Lord, my eye was drawn to a small angel on the bookshelf. On the angel's skirt was one word: joy. While contemplating on the word, a verse immediately came to mind: "Weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning." Suddenly, the outline for the book came so quickly that I could not write it down fast enough. Even though I wrote this novel prayerfully with the Bible and concordance by my side, I truly feel this work belongs to God 100 percent. As you read through the chapters, may you say I feel like Charles. I'm Kay. My daughter is as outspoken as Evie Grace. I feel like James with the problems of this world on my shoulders. I'm dealing with grief like Thomas. I hope that you find this fast-paced book not only a compelling read but that in the process readers are drawn closer to God and others with love and true unity. A welcoming beacon shining brightly at a time of such darkness and hatred in the world.
Our world spins around us, weaving in and out, seemingly out of control. We are dizzy trying to keep up with the changes on all sides. Everything appears to be upside down, backward, steeped in confusion and contradiction. What once was right is now "wrong," and what was wrong is now "right." Caught in this global tornado, we wonder, Is there any meaning to it all? And we ask ourselves the age-old question man has asked since the beginning of time, "Why am I here?"This book is a journey, allowing God to answer those questions for us. He left His "Diary," revealing His plans and desire for us. Starting at the beginning, we allow His Word to unfold His story. We discover that God is love and that He has a plan laid out for us that far surpasses all the confusion and darkness engulfing the world today, a plan open to everyone and that carries a future of joy, purpose, fulfillment, and love. God is indeed our wonderful Fatherlove, and we are His children. The journey of humankind has just begun, a journey of returning to the garden and walking with the Creator--for all eternity."Get ready to be impacted by a theme that will touch a deep place in your heart. It is the theme of "Like Father, Like Sons." Each chapter gave me so much to consider regarding the importance of this theme in our culture today. Brokenness abounds, often because of issues over knowing that we are loved and cherished by our Father in heaven. I consider this book to be so significant for everyone today; every son and every father needs to read this. And every daughter will be blessed in finding a greater love waiting for you. I hope you'll read this through carefully and consider every chapter as written just for you because it was!"Brian SimmonsThe Passion Translation Project
Spring of 2021 is a frightening time to be an American. Our country is recovering from a worldwide pandemic, there is virtual anarchy in our streets as law and order ceases to exist, our southern border is no more, our enemies are becoming more and more emboldened, and and a few elite in our society have decided to indoctrinate our children and divide this country based on race. Our government, the unions, and big corporations have waged war on the citizens of this country by inciteful verbiage and cancelling the voices of those who have a difference of opinion. Our very freedoms afforded us by the Constitution of the United States are in dire jeopardy. Freedom of speech, religion, and the right to feel safe in our own homes are on the verge of extinction. How have we lost our way? Where has God gone? What can we do to stand up for what we know to be right and true? And so a book was born...
When my children were small and my husband in college, I continued to recreate the stories my parents told me as a child about animals having personalities and their teaching abilities. I used the stories to teach my children moral principles through fables. They knew if they went to bed by 8:00 p.m., they would get another chapter of some favorite pretend stories, spun out night after night, chapter by chapter. Many of these stories led to daytime adventures as the kids lifted up flat rocks in search of Harvey Rabbit's magic hole with the candy factory. They made horn toads into pets and few a mouse in box fitted with a running wheel. In 1989, I decided to write down some of those favorite stories to give my now grown children as a Christmas present. My artist sister illustrated these stories for me. The compilation of stories has been sitting in my cedar chest for 30 years, until recently, when I had them re-printed for my now growing family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. God bless each and every child out there, that they may come to know in their head and heart that we are all God's angels placed here on earth with extraordinary abilities in order to love and bless each other's lives.
The world is drowning in a shoreless and bottomless ocean of beliefs. Almost every conceivable theological, philosophical, ideological twist and turn is in play. Truth has become a rare treasure. Never before have so many people been so informed and so detached. The good news is that you can know for sure and you can make a difference. The purpose of the book is to introduce a biblically solid and objective way of thinking that gives the Christian a proper foundation and advantage for managing encounters with friends, family, work, and classroom. Thinking like a Christian and thinking and acting like Jesus should be the norm. Each chapter is a different approach to some older and newer methods. The truth is that all of reality proves the existence of the Triune-Creator God, and without Him, nothing makes sense. Reality either rests on the absolute God or subjective relativism. There is no neutrality as much as some try to pretend. All ground is common, but none is neutral. Today, the battle lines could scarcely be clearer.America is at a tipping point. Where the roller coaster goes is in the hands of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. This book is my attempt to make a difference in a world that is increasingly chaotic. Peace and blessings to you.

The Book on the Shelf of Love is a historically sound declaration of recycled truths and hidden crumbs that have fallen from past writers, Christian history overlooked and ignored. The gospel should be simple, and what is being revealed goes directly against our traditional biblical teaching. But with the same teaching, this work brings out truth that has been buried. People want the truth. Five hundred years later and here comes the reformation that Luther or Calvin never finished. For centuries we have hid, covered up, and swept under the rug profound information about the Bible, now to interpret complex language of scholars, uncovering important biblical truths. Truth that has been left behind, that has been erased for centuries, that has left us with unanswered questions and important details that could determine the fate of a person's soul.God does not need us to take up for Him. However, Christianity has become so complex. Christianity, its doctrines, leaders, and their agenda plague Christians with doctrinal complexities, and with such a wealth of biblical and historical records, most Christians still do not know enough. God's moral law has been left behind, where men have corrupted the principles of the gospel with messages of passed-down traditions, distorted teachings, and doctrinal unity. This is a real-life reformation, uncovering truth to correct the mistakes of past generations, improving the conditions of the church, strengthening the body of Christian believers, and opening the Christians' eyes to the truth being told. This is an inspired revelation that goes against man-made doctrines where churches have become comfortable and complacent. The world is changing, and while we think we are in a relaxed position in Christ, we are under attack in a spiritual battle for our lives. This is an inspired revelation that will educate and warn the reader to serve the Lord God with all our mind.
When the truth is all you have, you must show it to the world. Cynthia Okebata must prove her truth when she learns that her husband, a former U.S. military man, is killed in Nigeria, his hometown. She, a widow and a mother, has to show a lot of courage, armed with the truth, to face the traps developed by those who fabricated a false accusation. They are no longer on Nigerian soil where such accusations are commonplace, and Cynthia finds herself a brave woman who fights not only for her reputation but also to maintain custody of her children. How does she do it? She realizes her experience can inspire voiceless victims who may be going through the same situation in silence. She courageously addresses and reports the cultural practices that victimize women. Cynthia has left a legacy for her children and generations to come.
