Upbeat and honest, this engaging tale takes you from the hills of Appalachia to an island on the other side of the world and to a lot of other places in a quest to serve and grow. The author is spiritually gifted, the product of a spiritually gifted mother and a father looked upon as inconsequential: the so-called mayor of a remote railroad stop called Barr Cut.There is a little of something for everyone in these pages: religion, alcoholism, suicide, cows, marriage, country ways, poets, masculinity and bravado, the everyday humanness of beautiful women, the strength of ordinary people, addiction, university degrees, chiggers, motorcycles, tropical living, cool cars, chicken plucking, divorce, games people play, mental illness, dogs 'n' cats, opera, snot, scuba diving and much more.

Turk and Len are best friends who not only attend the same school but the same church. Growing up together, they learn that faith guides them in everything that they do. When asked to give a speech at his school, Turk wows both his classmates and his pastor, even though he was freaking out until the end.
These are stepping-stones of life in the form of poetry while growing physically as well as spiritually from the past to the present. I've been tried by the three Ts--troubles, trials, and tribulations--of life that come in the seasons of heartache and pain. However, I enjoy a little sunshine even when having to walk through the rain. So as my steps are being ordered, I cherish the memories of happy times and sad times. They were the best of times. Looking back at my childhood and me, having family reunions, having barbeques, and going shopping were just the little things, along with my baby girl and the bad boys over on the back side.I heard a voice say, "You are God's child, so as you walk this path, walk in his Word." So I thank God for what he has given me. He speaks in a still small voice and says, "Remember to hush. When chatter is around, you're in the wrong place." There are times when my cup overflows with troubles and tears, which bring about heavy burdens. I sit on the mourner's bench, crying out, "Please, Lord, I want to be free. Deliver me."I hold on to my little Snowflake and hear, "I'm certainly not gone." What do I do? I love you too. Just a hit-and-miss of my life's journey. There is much more to be said if it is his will. All of this is of my heavenly Father because he gave me the gift of life. How much do I owe? I surrender all, giving my life to him with the fruit of labor.
The title of this book was inspired by the scripture Genesis 8:22, when Noah first settled in after the flood. He made a sacrifice to God and worshipped him, and God said within himself, "While the earth remaineth seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease."I believe that the scripture means that this is how the world works. This is God's chosen procedure of manifesting in the earth in the title poem "Seedtime and Harvest." I speak about the dichotomy between the haves and the have-nots and how God uses the lack of something to draw us to him.In life, we seek validation in all the wrong places: wealth, prestige, relationships, and the pride of life. It's natural for us to desire these things because God put greatness in us. He's even given us visions of our greatness, but greatness without God is futile. Why? Because there's no purpose without God. There's only flesh and fleshly desires that will never be fulfilled. Fulfillment is only in God, so in my walk, I noticed the closer I got to him, the more I wanted to be like him, as shown in the poem "Being the Man."I give the revelation God gave me about manhood and where my focus should be as a man. He also showed me how to view women in "Why Be a Trophy When You Are a Crown?" I grew up in a hip-hop culture that didn't respect women. God gave me a revelation not only how to view women but also how to value them in the poem "God Is Love."God showed me how important it is to be equally yoked (2 Corinthians 6:14). In this book, you will see my journey with God in the poem "God in a Box." I expressed how God broke the traditional mind state I had. This was accomplished by having my own relationship with Christ, not just knowing about him through my grandparents and to understand that God gave them what they needed for their journey, and what they needed isn't necessarily what's needed for my journey today. This book takes you through the highs and lows in my faith (yes, there were times I felt low) with the poems "Why I Worship God" and "The Devil Is Laughing at Me."Seedtime and Harvest is the process of perfecting the saints. That we're not perfect but we are perfecting ourselves is expressed in the poem "I'm a Christian, but I'm Not Christ."I'm proud of the work God has allowed me to accomplish in this book. I pray this book edifies God's people and glorifies God's name, in Jesus's name. Be blessed and enjoy.
It's the Heian era, a time of peace, of Japanese cultural aristocracy, national identity, and pursuit of beauty through art and poetry. A long-forgotten race, the Hotaru-Raiko, as they have come to be known, part human and part firefly, dwells secretly alongside man. This noble clan once lived near the tree of life. Now they make their home in a thicket near the Fukui Castle moat in the Echizen Province, just north of the capital in Kyoto, Japan. Often mirroring man's culture, they are particularly fascinated by the budding "way of the warrior" philosophy. However, in this time of peace, a foul creature escapes the bottomless pit, and a traitor emerges among the clan. Seduced by a spider yokai seeking to release an army from the abyss, the traitor helps form the treacherous Tsuchigumo clan. With their help, the temptress is able to assassinate the Hotaru-Raiko lord and his faithful samurai. In the wake of this devastation, the daimyo's eighteen-year-old daughter is tasked by an angel to defeat the spider yokai, destroy her traitorous clan, and raze the Abaddon gate to the ground. Can she rise through the grief to lead the remnants of her father's army as onna-musha? Who will stand by her side? What gift does the angel bring her? Will the Hotaru-Raiko find the gate to the abyss and complete their quest in time?

I had retired officially after forty years of active ministry in churches in Oregon and California. But in retirement, and at the age of seventy-five, I was invited by the pastor and elders of a church in California to join their staff as minister of visitation. I understand that in their invitation was a concern that older folks who could no longer be as active as they might have been would not be lost or forgotten. In three-and-a-half years of this ministry, I became better acquainted with some whom I had already known and came to know many whom I had not known before. Occasionally, one or another of these friends would, in the course of conversation, utter the words, "Why am I still here?"This book deals with that question, what might be behind its being voiced, and the answer or answers to it.
Do the scriptures support a secret Rapture to rescue the Church before the tribulation of the last days, or do believers need to prepare to face a time of persecution that will test their faith? Many Christians have been taught that Jesus Christ will Rapture away believers from the earth before the tribulation of the last days. Many others believe the Church will go through the tribulation and meet Christ in the air at His Second Coming. How do faithful Christians arrive at different conclusions? This book takes a fresh look by weighing the biblical evidence to answer these questions about the Rapture. Lay aside what you have always heard and take an impartial look of what does the Bible really say or doesn't say. You may be surprised at what you discover. The mystery surrounding the Rapture is explored by addressing six key questions in uncovering whether Christ's return is marked by one event or two. The two most popular viewpoints, the pretribulation and posttribulation Rapture, will be contrasted in a fair and balanced study. Prepare yourself for what lies ahead for our world.Craig Cordle has spent over thirty-seven years in the teaching ministry with a passion in Bible end-time prophecy. His insight in this area and impartially on the subject provides a unique perspective in addressing questions concerning the Rapture. This book will serve as an invaluable guide in the debate of the timing of the Rapture.
In the first publication by JC LeDobree, this family-time storybook addresses the issue of today's "gender confusion" in America and all across the globe while teaching the children and adults the understanding of God's perfect design. In comparing a goat who feels and believes that he should've been a different type of animal, the goat begins to make changes to his appearance while hoping the farmer will agree and confirm his change into another identity. Even through his physical exterior changes, the farmer doesn't agree and later provides proof that he IS and ALWAYS will be a goat. He is the Rock, his work is perfect. (Deuteronomy 32:4)
Young boy Robert Kline grew up in Indiana; it wasn't a surprise that his career choices were limited to working on the family farm, the Pennsylvania railroad or in the United States Steel Mill. For Robert, the steel mill seemed like the best and easiest choice. Unaware that the decision, albeit motivated by his desire to escape the family business, would unlock a successful climb up the corporate ladder. His thriving and robust life is tarnished by the agonizing memory of the death of his older sister, the constant challenges of racism, the near-death gunfight of his fiance--leading to her paralysis, and the inability to forget any gruesome detail due to his hyperthymesia syndrome. The good memories...the bad memories...are all his memories, every day, all day...forever.
John Chapman, author of the original Johnny Apple Seed book, was not a superhero like George Washington or Abraham Lincoln, but he became a simply delightful character by planting apple trees across much of the unpopulated early Americas. Why did Dr. Apple want to become the Johnny Apple Seed of the twentieth century? He wanted to show how different life was in the early twentieth century, how young children could get into so much mischief, causing trouble and at times getting hurt. And then cause more mischief the next time they are out playing and growing up in the oil fields. John knew that young children loved the original story, so he thought life in the Coalinga, California Oil Fields would be of interest and become loved as much as the original story. How long will career number three last for Dr. Apple? He is in his early nineties and going strong. John shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Hopefully, he will live into his hundreds so he can write another book about a hundred years with Johnny Apple Seed. He currently resides in the Central Valley of California with his son. Johnny Apple Seed in the Twentieth Century is a positive story to give the future generations a reason to be successful.

Three years after my incarceration, I had finally gone from surviving to living. I had become careful of who I allowed in my life because before prison, I was on others' tongue. And now after prison, I could see nothing has changed with some of those same people. I had experienced fake friends and family who were always questioning my change and talking against me because of my change. So God stepped in and changed my circle to change me because it was the same people, but they had different issues now. The less I revealed, the more people started to wonder about me.I had people come to me who drained me and then blamed me. But God once again had stepped in and revealed their character to me during small misunderstandings and miscommunications. I was now out of the dark and had no intentions of getting led into it again because the pain had hurt the same no matter who it had come from. It wasn't that the dark was scary to me; it was just an unfamiliar scenery because I never had to totally depend on anyone before. The only way out of the dark was to retrace my steps and social distance myself from family and friends so that I could work on my livelihood now as a convicted felon because I didn't know the road would be so rough.COVID-19 might have been bad for others but couldn't have come at a more appropriate time in my life. But through it all, I have been blessed beyond all expectations. No matter what was thrown at me, I have conquered them all. So I think it's only fair to inspire others to challenge themselves and overcome their limitations and to break through whatever barriers they may have encountered. I've learned from my mistakes, and you can too.
What would you do if you were sentenced to 270 months in a federal prison? Would you give up hope? What about your family? How do you think they feel? Do they miss you as much as you miss them? These are some of the realities that go through my mind on a daily basis. I regret most of the choices that I have made in my adult life. I wonder what my life would have been like if I had never taken that first drink or first drug. Then I wonder why I should get up every morning at five to pray to God to help me, to give me strength and patience, and to be kind to others. Why? Because of faith. I believe that God has a purpose for me no matter what my situation is. I am saved by his grace. There are more than one million men and women who struggle like me. We are not lost causes. We have hopes, dreams, and families just like everyone else. Most of us just want another chance. There are many great people in the Bible who made mistakes or committed sins, and God still used them for his greater plan. If the Creator of the world can forgive, then why can't we? He made us all, and we are not mistakes. I wrote these prayers in a dark time in America. I did it to give hope and inspiration to other men and women in similar situations. I give all the honor and glory to God.
This is a fictional book about a homeless teen being labeled and laughed at by her peers because of her bad hygiene. A new student decides to be a solution to the problem by showing kindness.
A spiritual mind and discernment are not things you can learn overnight. It takes many years to practice faith and prayer to develop your spiritual eyes and to mature a heart that will allow you to love as God loves. The beginning of that journey starts with you, feeding your mind with the right spiritual food--the living Word of God. This book is my testimony. It is a true account of what the Lord has brought me through, and how He anointed me, prepared me, and used me as His tool to touch and guide the lives of those around me. We all have a calling on our lives, a divine purpose in which we were all created for God. I was blessed enough to discover early on what my calling is. My goal now is to help others find theirs as well. This book is the chronicle of how that blessing got me through. How it not only changed my life but also my entire identity."A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another as I have loved you" (John 13:34).
