Who will be a part of the meek generation, and why will they inherit the earth when that time comes?A couple of last-days scenarios have been fairly dominant in Christian studies for a long time now, and these must necessarily be challenged--for in order to be fully ready to endure, one must look at the future from as many viewpoints as possible, not just settling on the idea that sounds good or seems popular.War is coming both for Jews and Christians, even while the world experiences peace, so keeping an open mind about that peace is probably one of the greatest hurdles Christianity must face. This is a crash course on a last-days scenario that most have not yet considered. Those who can read it with comprehension might have an advantage over those who will not. And remember, if you are in the woods and you meet a bear, you don't necessarily need to outrun the bear so much as you just have to outrun that guy next to you. That was a poor attempt at humor there. Sadly, you won't find much of that here, for this is a serious and controversial subject. The tone might come across as rough to some, while others could find it unreadable, and yet it contains both knowledge and understanding that will give many a fresh perspective on the last days, a perspective that will actually help Israel and godly folk to endure the trouble that is coming someday. We are given foresight for a reason, and that reason goes beyond just having Bible studies or participating in academic discussions. This is a call to action and a call to prepare for action, both now and later.
The Coyote Catfish legacy is a journey that will take you through the ins and outs of country living. Most of the characters were developed based on my family members and other family friends and the animals around the ranch that we grew up with. Coyote Catfish's name was comprised from three animals that reminded me of my relatives. I utilized these three sources to develop Coyote Catfish's name. Many of the other characters in the book were based upon people we knew. Coyote Catfish is a do-it-yourself handyman that can fix anything with a piece of duct tape and a stick of bubblegum. Everyone around town comes to Coyote when they need work done. Coyote can do it all, and he loves cutting firewood and painting. In this book, there are many stories that show you how Coyote operates. He loves camping and hiking, and he is a renowned and world-class fisherman, in his opinion of course. And boy does Coyote have some interesting friends. This small book contains many short stories of Coyote's comings and goings with things like taking the train and playing guitar in his own bluegrass band. He also loves to play baseball and runs in the county marathon each year to raise money for the less fortunate. There is even a story about a two-week camping trip Coyote goes on where he meets a very interesting yet peculiar character named Clarence Cactus the Third. Well, Coyote and Clarence undergo a rigorous game of chess, and even though Coyote is really quite skilled, Clarence proves to be a worthy competitor. It turns out to be quite the debacle. I really think your children will enjoy these short stories and poems. I know how smart children can be, and my stories allow for the parents to get involved intellectually. I have put my heart into these projects and wrote them for the children to entice them and to get their mental gears turning. I hope your children do enjoy them.
Herein lies a collection of my heart, soul, and mind being melded, pressed, and pursued to flow straight into the heart of my Father. This collection of poems was written throughout the early years of my walk. All of which give a personal glimpse into the struggles and triumphs of navigating the narrow way through a continual process of breaking down and building up. None of which were made to be simply read, as to savor an afterthought, but all were made to behold then walk out and walk through from glory to glory. Most of these poems are bare and unedited to portray the beauty of the moment with God that envelopes them--whether that be through reflection of history, a burning question, a simple thought, or a friendship from long ago. All of which He brings and He takes for His namesake. So let it be said: we can do nothing without Him.
Jesus admonishes us, encourages us, and commands us to share the gospel (Matthew 28:18-20). Jesus communicated with his disciples using real-world situations to convey His teachings, such as a lost sheep, a lost coin, and a son who went astray. Likewise, these essays and short compositions provide examples from life experiences, such as befriending refugees and restoring vintage automobiles. Those activities can be used as a basis for forming friendships that can lead to opportunities for evangelism. The discussants are encouraged to give examples from their own life experiences that may be used for evangelism. The essays are especially appropriate for small group discussions, adult Bible classes, and retreats.
The two words choices and wheels have great meaning for the author. So many people in our society do not realize the myriad of choices with the selection of food, clothes, places to live in, type of entertainments. The list could go on. There are a number of people, including people with disabilities, who lack choices in their daily lives. Carolyn Newcombe tells of her every day, as well as extraordinary encounters concerning choices individuals make, including her own.Making choices is a gift God gives us, and He wants us to choose daily, if not hourly. In Joshua 24:15, there is an account of a physical and a spiritual battle taking place. "But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD." All of us encounter battles in our lives. Through growing closer to Jesus, we can find that the best way to live life is to serve him. That is a choice worth making.Carolyn Newcombe has lived her life on wheels. Without wheels, she, and millions of people who use wheelchairs, would not have any form of mobility.
