This is a book of idioms that was written in hopes that it may help immigrants and others who enter the USA. Idioms are usually specific to a particular region, culture, language, or dialect and are often difficult to translate from one language or culture to another. Idioms are a phrase or group of words that conveys a figurative meaning that is different from the actual words of expression. Now being ninety-two years old, I have heard many idioms in my time. I have been collecting these entries for over thirty years and am happy to finally complete this book. Many of these idioms are from very many years ago. I hope that you find this book both educational and entertaining.

We as Christians can live victorious lives through God's Word. Victorious in the sense of positive living: accomplish goals in our lives, whether natural goals or spiritual goals. This can all be accomplished if we embrace God's Word.For the Christian, the Word of God is our life's blood. As Christians, our goal is to dwell (stay) with God forever. A holy conversation does not mean one says Jesus every other word. Holy conversations are uplifting. Our conversation should be reflective of what we believe. In other words, live what you preach or teach.It is the pleasure of the spirit of God (the Holy Ghost or Holy Spirit) to lead and guide us into all truths (John 16:13). We as Christians can live victorious lives through God's Word. We can defeat the enemy. It comes from the Spirit and the knowledge of the Word of God.

It is easy to have faith when all is going well. It is easy to trust God when you have a great job, a great marriage, good health and sound finances. It is very easy to lift your hands and sing God's praises when life is beautiful. It can, however, be quite difficult to trust God when severe trials enter your life. It can make it hard to sing his praises when waves of adversity bring you to the brink of despair. It can seem especially bad when those around you seem to be enjoying life and have things going their way, especially when you see unbelievers with happy homes, good health, and great careers. It is when severe trials come and our faith is tested to the breaking point that we must remember that "... we know in all things that God works for the good of those who love him, who are called according to his purpose". (Rom 8.28) There is a hidden realm in which spiritual warfare is being waged by the forces of evil in the heavenly realms (Ephesians 6.12). This book lays out an explanation of spiritual warfare and gives Biblical evidence showing that even people of God can suffer long and painful trials. It also gives reasons for hope, both now and in eternity to come. The author also issues a call to the Body of Christ to come to the aid of hurting Christians and offers suggestions on who can be part of the healing and how to approach the subject. If you are hurting, you are invited you to journey through this book to find healing and hope from God's word. If you are a Christian with a heart for those who are hurting, you are also invited to journey through this book and try to discern what ministry God may have for you.

This book should have been completed, but along came the virus, so I held up with it. I said, "Well, I guess this is the way God wants it done." I wanted the story to be enjoyable for all. Yes, it's a children's book, but many that have read it say it's very enjoyable. Once Upon A Kimono is about a new kimono designer, Hana. They got the material from a delivery man named Akihiko, which means prince. It is funny because Hana always said someday her prince would come. It shows in this story how when God puts your friends together, just what good friends do for each other. This book (yes again, a children's book) is going to bring the child out of, yes, the adults. After all this world has been through, this book will make you smile again.

Abigail Yellowtail and her friend Thomas set out on an adventure to check out some forbidden, shiny food. While Thomas tries to talk his friend Abigail out of her dangerous adventure, Abigail is not having it.She has one thing on her mind, and that's to taste the sparkly food.Of All the Groovy Fish in the Sea was birthed out of Matthew 14:13-12 when Jesus multiplied the five loaves and two fish but from the perspective and life of the fish.It's full of symbolic biblical references such as 2 Corinthians 5:17: "If anyone be in Christ, he is a new creation," and many more.Of All the Groovy Fish in the Sea begins with a feisty yellowtail swimming aimlessly through life and ends with the joy she finds when her life is chosen to help others.

Now is the time! Frances began writing this book under a different title in the early 2000s at the urging of a seminar speaker, whose goal is to empower women. This speaker encouraged all the women in attendance to start writing a book. The speaker said, "Every person has at least one book in them and maybe more." Frances began to write. She wrote many short stories but soon abandoned her writing mainly because of family problems, the lack of time and an inability to concentrate on her writing. Frances felt she lacked the skills and the support to complete the project.Now with the world in a full pandemic, Frances believes now is the time to release her writings to inspire and encourage people. Every day Frances sees so much hopelessness, despair, homelessness, poverty, sickness, hate, bitterness, and violence in the world. It is Frances's hope that sharing these stories with others will inspire, encourage, and give some hope and shed a little light on the dark time in which we are living.Frances wants people of no faith, little faith, or a lot of faith to know that the same God who spoke through the burning bush to Moses will speak to them. The same God who spoke to Abraham when He promised to make him a great nation will speak to you too. As God spoke at the baptism of Jesus, His only Son, saying, "This is my beloved son," He will speak the same words to you. Smile! Cheer up! With God, all things are possible.
