In 1849, Dora Bentz Herter and her husband decide to leave their native Switzerland and start a new life in America, a journey of several thousand miles, which includes crossing an ocean in a ship designed for hauling cotton, not people. After crossing the Atlantic, they must navigate two large rivers in crowded, precarious steamboats to reach their destination, the bustling port town of Weston, Missouri. After their arrival, Dora writes home and encourages the rest of her family to join them. The following year, two of Dora's unmarried sisters decide to undertake the trip, hoping they will find true love in Weston. The sisters are delighted to be reunited and discover that Weston does indeed provide many opportunities. Their main focus, however, is to persuade the rest of the family to come from Switzerland and join them. Then in 1856, a cholera epidemic strikes the town, and their lives are turned upside down. The love and support the Bentz sisters provide for each other isn't enough to keep the family together. Impacted by the settling of Kansas across the river, the Oregon fever, and the Civil War, the Bentz family begin to scatter. Fifty years later, only two descendants remain in Weston who can recall the Bentz family's story of immigration and the challenges they faced. Will they be able to keep the memories from fading away forever?

A Sheep's Tale, book 3 of The Seventieth Week Chronicles, is a work of fiction that intersects with the paths of the protagonists, John and Techie, of the first two books: The Making of a Martyr and The Journey of a Martyr's Companion. It is a two-part tale of a young woman with a checkered past trying to turn her life around when she is caught up in a world gone insane. Fleeing a major metropolis, she finds her way into the rural Midwest where she attempts to live a quiet life. Renting a small bungalow, she befriends her new neighbors Techie and his new companion who work at newly constructed prison. She soon finds herself confronted with a decision whether to become involved or not in a clandestine operation. Her decision finds herself, along with some new friends, as fugitives of the state. Living off the grid, she and her friends are alive when the Lord returns in judgment.Part two of the book finds her standing on a sea of golden glass awaiting the judgment of the sheep versus the goats. Being found among the sheep, they are introduced to a new world created for them and the nation of Israel. What follows is the author's imagination based on multitudes of scriptures contained in an appendix named "A Sheep's Tale--Index of Scriptural References."Eternity with God is beyond our imagination, but the Word has plenty to say about a new world and the lives of those who will reside upon it for a thousand years.
Growing up, all we had to do was our chores and do good in school, and half of us couldn't do that. Our parents kept things from us because it wasn't for us. Later on in my life, as we became teens, our parents shared current events. One day, my dad said he was going to write a book; this book was called It's a Mind Game: the Man within the Man by Sampson Brown Jr. I connected and started reading it, and before I knew it, I was relating to some parts of the book that was inspired by the power of positive thinking and the million-dollar secret hiding in your mind books. My book will teach you how to recognize and live the mind game if you want to see goodness. They need to make the change from negative to positive, and you don't have to change the government, just yourself. I dedicate this book to my children, grands, family, and friends.
This book was written so that the reader would come to know Christ. Some things may seem strange, although they are true. God watches over us all. He has definitely watched over me. As Fran Lance stated, "Why are you so careful in the Spirit? You weren't in the world."In this book, you will find a message given to me by my grandmother Bessie Brassington. This message is now coming about, as is evidenced by what is happening in this world. When reading the Bible and looking at what happened to Israel when they turned from God, it is evident that the same thing is happening to the United States. The US was blessed in the same manner as Israel. The United States was blessed through George Washington, who was strong in his faith in Christ. Our country has had many warnings as will be evident in this book. Global warming may be one of those warning signs. In Amos chapter 4 verse 7 and 8, it says,And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered. So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord. These verses are proof that the same things that happened to Israel are now happening in the United States.
Love Endures All is a novel written to encourage anyone who's been broken down to the core, who's ever hit rock bottom, who ever felt used, and never felt like they were good enough, to encourage you that God is love, and he is with you even when you feel alone like you're by yourself, remember the Lord is with you. Everything you've been through or are going through, He's with you. Everything is a test to prepare you, to mature you, to make you stronger, to allow you to walk like Jesus Christ our Lord, and to bring glory to his name. So no matter what it looks like or feel like, keep that love in your heart, with love you can endure anything, you can endure all things. Don't give up because you're a child of God, and he loves you, he sees you, and he died for you! That alone should let you know how much God loves you and you are enough. Don't worry about what people say or think about you. Believe what God says about you because he chose you, so choose him. Believe what the Lord says about you, when he created you, he said, "It is good." So you have to believe that!

"Mission Possible" is the story of two ambitious young Americans convinced God has called them to share the good news of the gospel in South America. The couple, George and Alice, and their young son, Phillip, embark on the unknown in the early 1950s as they are given the plans for their mission work in the Presbyterian East Mission of Brazil. After a brief time serving a church in Tennessee, as a newly graduated seminary student, George is ready to fulfill his dream of serving abroad. Alice is excited to embark on this adventure in a land where she and her husband can bring a sense of hope to many, while grappling with a new life and a growing family. Their limitations and naivete are compounded with perils of the jungle, along with the endless physical, language and cultural differences encountered. Though often weary, both remain yielded to whatever means the Lord uses to train and equip them. Every part of their life goes beyond all the boundaries of their imagination as it is woven into a colorful tapestry sometimes torn, but always repaired. Their amazing adventure is fundamentally based on a real-life story.
My name is Gerald Don Henson, and I am the author of this book. I have chosen the title of "The Galaxy Principle" for my book, with "Come and let's build a spiral galaxy together" for the subtitle. While no one but God can build a galaxy, we can build the assimilation of a galaxy form, using the same physic principles that God used to build His billions of galaxies. In the late 1960s to early 1970s, I developed an intense interest in the bodies of the universe, as to where they came from and what is controlling their movements. This interest involved the planets, stars, and galaxies, with the spiral galaxy being the most interesting of all. Being an IBM Tool and Die Maker I used my skills to build some fixtures to test out what I could glean from photos that I could obtain of spiral galaxies. I could see that most spiral galaxies had a bar of varying shapes in the center. These bars were spinning with spiral arms usually following the ends of the bars. This fact revealed to me that electromagnetic force was involved in the development of the galaxy. I suspended a magnetic bar from a string tied to the middle of it. I suspended an iron bar by a string tied to the middle of it also. I caused the suspended magnet to spin and then held the suspended iron bar up near the spinning magnet, and the iron bar began to spin in the opposite direction from the movement of the magnet. With this gained knowledge, I built a fixture containing a motor fixed so as to spin a magnet underneath a fixed glass plate, and then sprinkled iron powder on top of the plate. To my amazement, the powder divided up into hundreds of small filaments that began to spin about their centers of mass in the opposite direction of the spin of the magnet and precessed around the spinning magnet in the opposite direction of the spin of the magnet. From these movements fact after fact began to be revealed about the movements involved in the development of a spiral galaxy. From all of this action, this book gradually came into existence. From the beginning of my studies in this field to the present covers a fifty-one- to fiftytwo-year period. I am so thrilled now for the honor of presenting this information to the world, and for the possibility of what may be developed from the physics principle that I have named it The Galaxy Principle

Experience Continuous Growth through the ScripturesAs Christians, we know that studying God's word through a daily reading of the Bible brings personal growth, enlightenment, and power to our lives. The Bible scriptures are living and are fresh every day. The Bible is not like a novel we read through once and toss aside. It is to be studied, absorbed, and lived out.Are you serious about learning and understanding the Bible scriptures?Alan Engle hopes you are and wants to help you along in your journey through his new book. In this book, he continues the idea of stepping or furthering your understanding of the Bible. In this edition of the stepping series, he highlights New Testament books especially by Paul, John, and Peter. The format is the same as his first book, Stepping through the Psalms and Proverbs--that is, to pick out a favorite verse or paragraph and write a short commentary on it.More Steps through the Scriptures is not a rigorous study with footnotes and references to other writers. It was written with the leading of the Holy Spirit. So it is easy to read, absorb, and think about. The steps lend themselves to a daily reading and meditation. It is also designed for small group Bible study.More steps willintroduce you to another Christian interpretation of the Scriptures, shed new light on some of your favorite scriptures, stimulate your thinking on how you might write a commentary, encourage a daily quick study of the word of God,build you up in a positive outlook on your steps with God, andwork in addition to other commentaries for a more complete study. If you desire to grow more in your walk with the Lord, this book can be your guide. In conjunction with the Holy Spirit, a deeper understanding of the Scriptures is possible and your life can become more fruitful.
The topic of women in ministry appears to have been made controversial over time.It has been merged together with topics about gender rights and equalities. It appears that debaters of the topic may have forgotten that the matters of human affairs--gender wars, women's rights movements, and other equality struggles--are far removed from the matters of heavenly affairs where God is the overseer.Positions are given in churches, and there are concerns that women are being excluded from these positions. The question to ask is: Who is confirming the posts? Who is deciding whether a person gets to be a deacon or a church leader? Are the decision-makers receiving a direct endorsement from God who owns the church? If the answer is no, then the reality is that any position that is being founded or elected by church officers, who are making the selections like it should be done like an ordinary human job interview, are selecting the wrong candidates for ministry posts. The bottom line would be that none of those selected posts are recognized by God and not will be supported by him. This ties in with the controversy: If women are being excluded from church positions, is it due to political position selections like job interviewing and gender unfairness? Or is it because God himself is shunning them and is not providing audible divine appointments to them? This book is discussing the controversies about the choosing of female leadership in the church and may present some views that are not generally accepted. It is an innocent attempt to analyze why female leadership in the church is not more plentiful than its current status.

Begun ninety years ago by two down-and-out alcoholic men (Bill Wilson and Bob Smith), Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) has proved to be the most effective treatment for achieving long-term sobriety. That success, the author argues, is due in large measure to the underlying theological principles of the AA program. Many participants in AA and many proponents of AA are not aware of this underlying theology. There is much that religions of all stripes can learn from these theological principles and the organizing traditions and concepts of the AA program. Perhaps these religious organizations might even reverse their downward trend in membership by adopting what AA has learned over the past ninety years."This book is an outstanding contribution to the church's understanding of the disease of alcoholism and our ministry with those who struggle with this disease." -William Boyd Grove, Bishop, retired, United Methodist Church
