Safe space refers to "a place or environment in which a person or category of people can feel confident that they will not be exposed to discrimination, criticism, harassment, or any other emotional or physical harm."This book also includes personal stories and biblical stories created as theological virtues built on safe spaces that were created by GOD for our life's journey. Each chapter in the book includes a narrative (personal and biblical stories), scriptures, and prayers relative to each safe space.In the years it took me to write this book, I've experienced some unbelievable challenges and barriers that took concentrated practice, reading, and prayer to develop safe spaces. In fact, I've had some pains in my life that took years to heal, and it's only by understanding the theological virtues of being a Christian that enabled me to walk through this journey without losing my mind, becoming an alcoholic or drug addict, or even just giving up on life. These life experiences are the foundation for the theological virtues presented in this book as safe spaces. However, finding my safe space grounded in theological virtues enabled me to endure heartbreak, engage in new endeavors, and embrace life's journey. I pray that you receive the same freedom in finding your safe space.

I describe how the unforgettable day that shamed the nation unfolded before my very eyes, and I include my accounts of unforgettable events leading up to that day and the aftermath. The remainder of the book gives my personal reflections about hope for justice, peace, healing, and reconciliation. My words on the pages within are honest and straightforward. I utilized the wisdom and the knowledge that I learned during my journey through life to convey my true feelings. Being able to tell my story has helped me to move peacefully beyond the painful memories of the darkness of the past into the light of change. I have learned how to fuel my thoughts with positive possibilities because divine order prevails in my mind and my life. And I do believe that God is the source of all prosperity, and I give thanks in advance knowing that my highest good is unfolding now. I have moved beyond the mindset of powerlessness to seeing life through forgiving eyes. Yet the memories of the ugly events of the past, I will never forget. Because on an underlying level, racism still pledges our society.

Moving from Hegemony to Partnership in LeadershipWhen God created women and men, the intention was for them to be partners with each other and to serve in the world as cocreators with God. The story of human beings, however, has been impacted with culture and other social factors to create different forms of hegemonies. These hegemonies have been key in values that create social injustices that are in all spheres of life but more so in women and men relationships. In cases of leadership and in many cultures, men have adopted attitudes that justify exclusion of women from leadership. In religious circles, it is justified by the ways texts are read and interpreted through the lens of culture. If we begin from the premises of justice and believing in a God of justice, then hegemonic ways of understating leadership should be null and void. Acknowledging that human beings are created in the image and likeness of God demands that we act differently. What this has meant is to challenge injustice in leadership by men and women in partnership. The circle of concerned African women theologians in Africa, where Rev. Edith Chemorion is a member, has, over the years, provided safe spaces for mentoring women to research and write about the experiences of women but much more so to call for justice in all areas, including the study of theological education and for leadership in the churches. This has borne results because of the partnership of men and women. Reverend Edith's contributions to the rallying call is that society moves from hegemony to partnership in all fronts, but especially in offering leadership by all. Most of the world population does not know what a stronghold really represents in all human lives. As a Christian, I have come to embrace my great weaknesses and the courage to commit my life to not judging others but loving them. This book of poetry attempts to convey this message by glorifying the Person of Jesus Christ through the humility of words. I'm forever indebted to God for my family, without whom, the inspiration for many poems would not have come about.

The book Daddy's Little Girl: My Poetic Testimony is a transparent and poetic recollection of a little girl accepting a love that she once ignored and rejected. The author walks us through her childhood full of insecurities and haphazard actions in the pursuit to capture love. I have recently completed an educational book entitled Modern Nursing: How We Got There. The nursing profession has undergone an enormous transformation over the past four decades, and I observed every change as it unfolded during my forty-one-year career as a registered nurse. In this short work, I explore the ancient origins of nursing and explain how what began as a mysterious art steeped in myth and folklore grew into the modern profession that it is today.I earned my master's degree in nursing in 2007, and I am the published author of New Heart, New Life (Christian Faith Publishing, 2017), which documents the story of my heart transplant and how I went on to continue my career in nursing.My hope is that this book will help new nurses appreciate more that very demanding but wonderful profession.
