The author argues that Sufi orders participate in the improvement and consolidation of democracy and secularism in Senegal. Often, in opposing or blocking the conservative ambitions of the state holders, several Sufi guides support the citizens and deepen democratic values in the country.

How international is international humanitarian law? The Laws of Yesterday's Wars 2: From Ancient India to East Africa, together with its companion volume, The Laws of Yesterday's Wars: From Indigenous Australians to the American Civil War (Brill-Nijhoff, 2021), attempts to answer that question. It offers a culture-by-culture account of various unique restrictions placed on warfare over time. Containing essays by a range of laws of war academics and practitioners, it approaches the laws of yesterday's wars from a wide cross-section of history and culture, seeking to find any common ground and to demonstrate a history of international law outside the usual confines of its 'development' by Europeans and its later 'contributions.' This volume includes studies on Japanese, Islamic and Eastern Native American rules of war.

About this series "Crustaceana Monographs" has been established as a series of books on carcinology in the widest sense to accommodate papers exceeding the page limit of the journal "Crustaceana." Good quality contributions are sought that will preferably fill between 300 and 500 pages, but at least 100 pages and up to 600 pages in print. It is the aim of the Publisher to publish two or three volumes per year. In all its aspects, i.e., format, editorial instructions, etc., this series is indeed intended to represent a series of books truly attached to "Crustaceana International Journal of Crustacean Research." About this volume This is a generic revision of the entire caligid family including detailed descriptions of all genera within the family along with a discussion on the taxonomic status of the Euryphoridae. Based on the type and nontype specimens, a revision of the genera of the Caligidae was conducted. The external morphology, functional morphology, life history, and host-parasite relationships of the Caligidae are presented. A key to the genera of the Caligidae and the Euryphoridae is provided. Detailed redescriptions of 31 species belonging to 24 genera are given including revised diagnoses of all 28 recognized genera. The revision will be extremely useful to copepodologists, carcinologists, parasitologists, and ichthyologists because it compiles an extensive array of information and literature into one book. Because the Caligidae, commonly known as sea lice, have become increasingly important due to their deleterious effects on fishes, especially cultured or farmed fishes throughout the world, aqua culturists have become very concerned about sea lice . This book will be an invaluable resource for all the above mentioned professionals because it will compile a voluminous amount of disparate information into one reference book and allow the non-copepodologist, as well as experts in the field, to easily identify these genera with the use of the taxonomic key.
