Footprints are a collection of poems that were either written or revised recently or recalled from work begun and lost fifty years before. Some recall pleasant memories of my beloved Veronica and some of her later struggles with ill health. She was born and grew up in Dublin and Ireland remained a special place for both of us. The DART from Howth to Greystones "tunnels under Queen V's crown and pops out for the view above Killiney Bay" where "the magic face of Ireland is found." We met and married in Syracuse. Events and places from that time are featured in some of the poems. Newtown Plus Five was written shortly after news coverage of the fifth anniversary of the Sandy Hook school massacre. An Elegy for One and Many commemorates the life of a friend of the victims of the Pittsburgh synagogue rampage who died during the same period. Many of the poems are written in traditional verse forms and rhyme schemes.A number of poems reflect concerns about America: the face it presents to the world and the state of its democracy. Ode from a Colonial Bowl recounts a family history of its founding.Flint where "once-upon-a-time America coursed through (its) leaden arteries to nurse its middle class." In Vietnam "we've grown old, some fifty years removed from when our universe was rolled into a white-hot ball," to find the common threads we shared in youth to pursue our common legacy. American Graffiti asks, "Can Cicero and Caesar coexist within republican constraint?"Let Freedom Ring calls upon us to answer "the distant bells of freedom pealing " in Ukraine. The challenge is to understand how both poems can be compatible with our logic.

  • - The Hidden Secret
    av Derick Chibilu
    189,-

The Hidden Secrets takes us on. It is a tale of mystery, suspense, and ultimately, the triumph of truth and resilience. The characters of Amelia, Detective Sullivan, and Alex have become dear to me, representing the complex facets of human nature and the capacity for growth and redemption. Their individual stories intertwined with the larger narrative, reminding us that we all have our shadows to confront. Ravenswood, once shrouded in darkness and secrecy, has emerged as a beacon of hope and transformation. The journey of its residents, as they faced the consequences of their choices and sought to build a more transparent future, serves as a reminder that change is possible, even in the face of the most daunting challenges. The themes explored throughout this novel-deception, trust, redemption-reflect the intricacies of the human experience. We are all susceptible to the allure of secrecy and the dangers it can pose. Yet, it is through the power of truth and the strength of community that we find the path to healing and growth.

As You Read These Words, You Are Being Counseled! The very word "Counseling" is a turn-off to a lot of people. Yet, all of us need to receive and give good biblical counseling. You might look at it like this: Preaching may be counseling, but not all counseling is preaching. Counseling is simply the giving and receiving of advice.Do you wish you had someone who would listen to you? O.K. What would you say? Are you a good listener when someone is speaking? Becoming a good listener is a tough discipline that is never completed by any of us.Don't think of counseling as being just for the professionals. You are part of the human race, and you were created to receive and give counsel. The question is to find and follow the right source. You've likely heard the words of Genesis 1:26. They reveal to us that counseling was taking place within the Trinity before the creation of this world. We are the result of The Big Counsel, not the Big Bang! Then God said, "Let us make man our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and the birds of the heavens and the livestock and all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."In this little book Dr. Bolus will be sharing with you some of his own counseling experiences from over 50 years of ministry. If you like a good story, we think you will like reading Our Wonderful Counselor.

Fiasco Farm is a charming story about a piece of land nestled in a small hidden valley of hill country in northern New England which dates back to the nineteenth century. By the mid-twentieth century, the farm had become a weekend and summer home for a banker from Boston, and subsequently for the author's father. The author, James V. Bibbo III, then had a dream to "reestablish the farm."No one would have suspected that this self-described middle-aged school superintendent would toss in the towel on a long career as an educator and school administrator and take to farming in the mountains. And, although he gave it his full attention, as time wore on the author's year-round home became affectionately known as "Fiasco Farm" to those who knew Mr. Bibbo and his lack of farming expertise! Regardless of the obstacles necessary to overcome, James V. Bibbo III knew a good story when he lived one! With skittish goats, challenging pig roundups, a growing dog population, and horses in search of greener pastures, the humor is palpable and well-related by Mr. Bibbo's use of vivid imagery and colorful descriptions. More than anything, Fiasco Farm is one man's journey to making dreams come true while recognizing that it is not always easy to live one's dream.

The warmth of Corey's presence was electrifying to Mia...intoxicating...and his European accent, delightful. Mia's intense attraction to Corey was highly uncharacteristic of her, considering her strict upbringing with Grannie on the Four Corners reservation. She was forbidden as a Navajo to keep company with Anglos, but the young Native American executive felt strangely inclined to make Corey an exception to the rule. Taos Winter is an inspirational romantic novel set against a picturesque wintery backdrop in the mountains of Taos, New Mexico. Crackling fireplaces stoke the atmosphere for a love story to unfold with its moments of passion and conflict, tragedy and triumph. Supernatural pursuits by the Savior add another dimension to matters of the heart. Is there going to be a wedding? Mia's Taos wedding? That's left to be seen.

History is a record of past events. It is a systematic account of people and events. History must be accurate. Historians use guidelines to research and write History. It should be written with a neutral point of view. All aspects of the historically significant individual must be researched, evaluated, verified, and placed into the perspective of the time it occurred. Most importantly, the events should be accurate and truthful. This book is more Historical Revisionism than History. My view is neither neutral nor secondhand. However controversial and outrageous the recorded events may appear, they are, in fact, True! The truth, of course, is not only an adequate defense but also the purpose of my writing.John is a lifelong academic and professional author, publishing three non-fiction volumes. He began his career as a researcher at CBS-WCAU TV as director of Research; followed by high-level government positions in Philadelphia politics. Namely; Executive Assistant to the Mayor of Philadelphia from 1970-1980, where he continued writing position papers, background investigations, speeches, and political research. He left that position in 1980 when he became the executive assistant to the Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee and was followed by managing the campaign for the incumbent Philadelphia District Attorney. During his entire career, John graduated from five different graduate schools obtaining 3 master's degrees and dual Ph.D. degrees in Psychological Research and also Forensics. John continued his love of knowledge and today does pro-bo work as a behavioral psychologist in the Pennsylvania prison system, where he authored his latest work entitled "Facts of Life," which is a non-fiction volume depicting the narratives of adjustment and adaptation older males serving life sentences published 2022.John lives in Ambler Pennsylvania, with his wife of 52 years and his four married daughters and 10 grandchildren.

In Fried Oyster Sandwich, Pastor Gross presents the alternative history that follows a Confederate victory in the war fought to achieve its independence. He attempts to describe it first from the view of the Kaufmann family, then from that of professional media people of the time. In Appendix A, he describes how the Confederates won the war. All characters in Appendix A are real people. In the novel itself, some monarchs are real, but the talking characters are all fictitious. Four generations have been created for the Kaufmann family and three for the Mexican Hapsburgs. Two appendices describe the intervention of a Confederate expeditionary force on the imperial side in Mexico and a list of the presidents of the Confederate States of America.

To my children, grandchild, son, and whoever should read this book, let it be an encouragement to you. It doesn't matter if you are poor class, middle-class, or wealthy. We are all created equally in God's sight. The ground is level at the cross for everyone. We all have the capacity to survive. So put your boots on, pull them up, and don't be afraid to take steps forward. Never sit and say poor me! Look around and see how God blessed you. Hold your heads high and wear the Shield of Faith. By all means, give God the glory and praise because you are His creation, and He doesn't make losers or failures. You know He created each one of us to have fellowship with Him. So why not? What a journey this has been so far.
