  • - A Condensation from the Book
    av Napoleon Hill
    146,-

The Law of Success is the Holy Grail of success philosophy: Napoleon Hill's formula to achievement presented in Condensation Edition--now newly designed in a handsome single-volume edition. This is the master volume of the extraordinary work that began the career of Napoleon Hill. Originally produced by Hill as an eight-book series, The Law of Success is now available to contemporary readers in a single edition, redesigned and reset for ease of reading. Napoleon Hill queried dozens of prosperous individuals about how they obtained their success, and he organized their experiences into a series of principles that promote: ¿ Self-confidence ¿ The habit of saving ¿ Imagination ¿ Enthusiasm ¿ Self-control ¿ Concentration ¿ Cooperation Each chapter forms a lesson in using these traits to develop the untapped "mind-power" that leads to success. Read this book today to learn how to cultivate your own potential.THIS is a working handbook in Success. It isn't merely to be read. It is to be used. If the knowledge it contains isn't applied, it will soon be forgotten. Why not carry this booklet in your pocket every day? Why not read it before you have that difficult interview? Why not review it before you dictate that touchy letter? Why not glance at it every time you are tempted to start a new project?

  • av Roberto Madrigal
    269,-

    144,-

This short treatise was composed by Tertullian (Quintus Septimius Florens Tertullianus; 155 - 240 AD) on how Christians should deal with heresy and heretical arguments, mostly from pagans. He argued that the apostles transmitted the truth down to their approved successors, and that essentially no heresy is new. He also asserted that all heresies are condemned by "the sentence and the silence of Holy Scripture."This material is drawn from: The writings of Quintus Sept. Flor. Tertullianus 2 Edinburgh T. and T. Clark 1884 by Peter Holmes (1815-1878), with the original footnotes and Bible references preserved. The work is also illustrated with artwork of the various figures mentioned in the text.

"A celebrated author has justly remarked that Christian women can, like the guardian angels, invisibly govern the world; and the author of the "Serious Hours of a Young Lady" has very appropriately made this truth the basis of his book, since the object that he had in view in writing it was to point out the important role that woman plays in society, and to give the young girl such instructions as will enable her, in due time, to discharge, in a worthy manner, the duties of her calling. In doing this he has given evidence of very elevated views and of a profound knowledge of the human heart. The book is a tissue of practical counsels, couched in the clearest and most delicate terms."

  • av Bernadin De Saint-Pierre

Paul et Virginie (or Paul and Virginia) is a novel by Jacques-Henri Bernardin de Saint-Pierre, first published in 1788. The novel''s title characters are friends since birth who fall in love. The story is set on the island of Mauritius under French rule, then named Île de France. Written on the eve of the French Revolution, the novel is recognized as Bernardin''s finest work. It records the fate of a child of nature corrupted by the artificial sentimentality of the French upper classes in the late eighteenth century. Bernardin de Saint-Pierre lived on the island for a time and based part of the novel on a shipwreck he witnessed there.

  • av St Gregory of Nyssa
    254

The resurrection from death is a strong component of the Christian faith, which the Nicene Creed, affirms stating: "We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come."The early Christian writers Irenaeus and Justin Martyr, in the second century, wrote against the wide-spread idea of their time that only the soul survived. In like manner we have this later writing of St. Gregory of Nyssa (335 - 395 AD) which clearly articulates the position that a person is both soul and body, and that Christ has promised to raise them both, in the same way, that his body was raised. This doctrine of the resurrection is based on Christ''s resurrection, for, at that time, there was no Greek belief in a general resurrection, rather they held that once the body perished I could no longer return to life. This work is taken from "Selected writings and letters of Gregory, Bishop of Nyssa", Oxford: Parker and Co., 1893, translated by Henry Austin Wilson (1854-1927), and includes the original footnotes at the end of the book along with Bible references. Also included are various Christian illustrations of the resurrection from the Renaissance period in form of artwork, statues and icons.
