Ten Old Earth years ago, The Mighty Draas, a highly evolved alien species that had first posed as friends to the humans, attacked humankind. Crushed by the machinations of the Draas emperor Raathmor and the brute force of the Draas armada he commanded, the humans lost the war. Left with no option but to flee, they went into hiding. The year is 9 Yugam and the Draas Empire now rules the human home system and its allied worlds. When Kae's father was killed in the slums of Kan-Siakh, Kae was thrown into a life of slavery under a sadistic master, a stinking Oreg by the name of Sashimi. With nothing much to live or hope for, all Kae cared about in the ten Old Earth years that he served the monster, was Prize, a beautiful Apsa. But when Kae stole a holo-projector from a group of Reptyds, something he had only thought to be a shiny trinket that he would use to bargain with his master, he suddenly finds himself entangled in a web of interstellar proportions that will fling him to the furthest corners of known space.
This book comes from a very personal place. I always longed for a pet, Finally, after much pleading, Tootsie, a mini dachshund, came along, followed a few years later by Chika, a Pomeranian. Tootsie and I were inseparable. When she became a star in my arms, the poem, The Rainbow Bridge was : source of consolation Tootsie missed meeting my daughter by a few months, but Chika was around when Ishanvi was born and became a much-loved part of her early life. Chika became a 'star when Ishanvi was a few years old and she could not for the life of her figure out where he'd gone. So, my mother made up a story for her about how Chika had become a star and that was her source of consolation. That's how this book came about, through years of telling these stories. I hope it will help children deal with a subject that we normally don't address - the loss of a loved one.

''Bound by Love'' explores that bond and takes us through a plethora of emotions. There is love, adventure, drama, suspense, test of faith, surrender and much more! Above all, it makes us realise the enchanting sweetness of the Supreme, in a world where most people are only enamoured by or aware of His greatness. At every moment, we are being tested.
