Immortal is a young man's journey from boyhood to manhood and his attempt to find his place in a world he has not yet come to understand. He has to confront the stark reality of life head first, and this is his experience as shared from the depths of his heart. All young people find themselves looking at the world around them and trying to understand it, and this is a young man's record of his journey expressed with love, vulnerability, humility, and hope. It was written not only for his own reflection but also for insight for generations to come.To see the world is to see oneself. With engaging vignettes spanning confessional and poeting to travel-writing styel, Carlos Campana invites the reader to ride the current of perspectives woven into a captivating self-portrait.I'm in full cheerleader mode for your variation of lenses between entries...it reads in many places as brush strokes carefully selected for a blank palette, as if someone would select their attire based on the weather.Your abstract language paired with journaling-meets-stream of conscious is very effective, and your weilding of rich imagery really shines, for example, in the travel piece dated Nov. 2013.Preliminary praise for now! Congratulations on this triumph!-Nicollete Costantino, M.A.Associate Professor of English and Eyrie Art & LiteraryDealing with the angst of maturation seems inescapable. Instead of escape however, Mr. Campana runs full speed into the melee, with an open mind and an open heart. He pushes past curiosity into pursuit, riding on the current of Divine purpose and personal discovery. In this work, he asks tough questions with ambition and an admixture of humility, seeking wise counsel from great minds. Musing on thinkers from Emerson thru Marley, all the way to Jesus, Carlos has produced a captivating work about Life, Love and finding One's way.-Kermit Harrison, Professor of Philosophy

The prerequisite for being a Bah is to attempt to live a life that is in accordance with the teachings of that faith. In the human condition, one must have a logical explanation for a principle that lends itself to being lived. This is an attempt at stating thoughts in relation to an exalted theme in terms of what one might perceive, given that one has to have logic to the effort of endeavoring to live the ideal. These explanations are not conclusive and may apply for a certain period and a certain kind of person, and they constitute the writers desire to extend his belief to that which can actually be practiced. Spirituality is not imaginary thought but a practicality. The writer acknowledges that the Creator gave us minds to investigate phenomena because they are understandable and did not createpardon the expressionfor the mere purpose of confusing the minds. It is a perception and a belief that He wants us to know and worship Him. As He is eternal, we must strive to advance eternally toward a fuller understanding of all lessons, admitting that we are human and can do only what is humanly possible at any time.

In 2013, I embarked on a process of spiritual awakening. My perception of everything I had known until that point was challenged by an energy greater than me. Imagine how shocking it is to realize that you are not your body and that your energy extends in ways and to places unknown to your mind. I was lost. I was scared. I was determined to find myself again. Was I crazy, or in the middle of a spiritual crisis? I felt like I was suspended in mid-air trying to put my feet back on the ground. I had to recover, I had to realign and surrender. One day, it all became clear. I am here to make a difference and so are you. Are you ready to embark with me on a journey to the discovery of who you truly are?

I wrote this poem for my son Noah when he was still a baby. I wanted to come up with a poem/prayer that I could say to him every night when putting him to bed. Since I am not religious and more of a spiritual person, I wanted to write something that could be universal and parents from different races, religions, and cultures could potentially say this to their children if they choose. I now recite this poem to both of my sons every night before putting them to bed.. Recently I told this poem to a few of my friends and to my delight, their children will not let their parents put them to sleep without saying this poem to them! I think it is so important that we teach our children to love themselves and to believe in themselves and this poem was inspired to do just that for my precious son. I hope love and light guide you and your children too and blesses you all throughout your life as well! Love and Light May love and light guide you and bless you throughout your life May you always believe in yourself and see yourself in the highest light May you live your truth, but respect one another without the need to be right May blessings flow every day and every single night May the love of your family and friends, take you to new heights May love and light guide you and bless you tonight!

Song of the Sparrow offers a sense of wonder inspired by the natural world. The serendipity and enjoyment of nature through the beauty of just being present. The observations of isolated and intimate moments. Some are humorous, some sad, some downright scary. They are filled with rhythmsthe rhythm of the tides, the rhythm of the eagles wing-beat as it flies over us, the rhythm of the soft rain as it falls on our tent. While this book is about sharing experiences exploring the Salish Sea, these vignettes can be enjoyed anywhere by anyone who experiences nature in small and simple ways. Readers may have their own experiences with the natural world currently or may be removed from natural settings, but they still have a core yearning to be a part of the whole. This book will be embraced by those that enjoy intimate interactions among humans, animals, and plants.Song of the Sparrow is unique, not only because of the West Coast habitat but also because it is based on personal adventures and yet present in a universal context. It is Deborahs intention through photography and prose to offer a point of reference and insight for the unique moments that are a part of enjoying nature. While the images and narrative are specific to one place, it matters not where the reader resides. It is Deborahs hope that these snippets create a canvas for all to broaden their own experiences with nature, no matter where they occur.
