My Delight With Golf- Paul Chong "e;Golf is a club-and-ball sport in which players use various clubs to hit balls into a series of holes on a course in as few strokes as possible."e; - Wikipedia. GOLF as a word used to stand for "e;Gentlemen Only Ladies Forbidden"e;. However, it's no longer so today. To me, GOLF is both a leisure & pleasure:* to rise before the break of dawn, fresh & breezy* teeing off from the first hole for a 9-hole game or 18-hole game, depending upon the availability of time* meeting up with a group of friendly retirees for a social game & recreation* the sheer pleasure of healthy exercise in walking & swinging crazily with your club over a distance aiming for a tiny hole which can cause you to have great sensation or frustration* quite apart from the game, to be close to nature & surprising encounter with groups of kangaroo families sunning in the green. "e;You can see me but you can't come near me."e;Golf is an enigmatic sort of sports. Someday you are on top of the world. Others you are at the edge of hell. You will never know what to expect, even with the best of the professional players. I had a good run & fun with golf over 10 years (age 65 -75) . . . forced out of golf because of "e;windy shots"e; when glaucoma came my way.

When I look across the arc of my life, I loveThat the peaks they mean so muchThat the valleys came to define meThat the stars will twinkle on when I am goneIn a debut collection, Mark Taylor shares poems penned in his past with the hope of inspiring others to believe in a happier tomorrow. Taylor lyrically explores diverse themes that include family, love, and life itself taking the reader to a sandy beach where a photographer shouts commands to his sun-kissed subject, an alley where a few crouch for coins and others sell mags off tatty loins, a simple song that transports a man to happier times, a weeping willow tree that holds youthful memories, and a moment of surprise, love, warmth, and beauty when a mum and son become one. Human Lives in Rhyme is a volume of poetry that reflects on one man's experiences and the world around him with the intent of providing hope to all that better days are ahead.
As a mother for many and a victim of workplace trauma and abuse at the hands of corporate care. There comes a time when you bend, break, or use art therapy to warp reality and rebuilt yourself to be the catalyst for the change that you desire. Change that has a purpose, when the spiritual representative of the continental land mass of Australia, turns up in a borrowed body, to motivate this multi-tasking mother to leave the arms of her lover and orchestrate universal expansion with the aid of cookies and cold tea. This story may be strange or an obvious repeat, of what you know. To have been written in code upon your DNA. With a spoonful of therapy to aid conversation and community connectivity. You will find this tale weird, yet to feel it strangely to be true. Weird they had called me as I sit amongst the fringe. Weird but good my co-workers said when I was the mouthpiece for their concerns. Weird but ours the family boasts as I worked myself to the bone to create for others a Sanctuary and for them a loving home. Now facing menopause and with a midlife crisis long overdue. I am embracing my weirdness to write stories to ignite change and conversation in people like you. I am the sober driver who will get you safely home. I am an Australian survivor and walked with the ME2 movement beating a drum. Why are we still burning fossil fuel instead of harnessing the sun. I am a frustrated woman who is raising her voice because my country has told me that climate change is no longer a choice. I am Nerak Coven. (Artist, Activist, Author)

Written with the purpose to inform, empower and inspire positive change... Dylan and the Wolf - Saving Our Children from the World's Biggest Psychopath is a story of a real boy, Dylan and a portion of his real life, where medical conscription controlled every pathway of choice, where parents were denied the civil right to choose evidence based alternatives to chemotherapy protocols. Where medical entrapment was very real, and real constitutional health and civil rights had already been removed by stealth, to continue a toxic but profitable status quo. Such a hoax on civil health and constitutional rights is something every family should know. The Author links pathways of 'civil management' and industry to bioaccumulation in agriculture, food, medicine and water management that has bioaccumulation effects and is surely; A Toxic Harvest for future generations fall. Awareness of such, it is hoped, will inspire thought, words and actions that decontaminate and support healthy genetics for all of Life.
These poems travel narrow roads deep north, and they take slow boats east; they sail the Nile south, and they safari in Africa; they turn paintings inside out and find our faces there; they long for love long after love let go; they poke fingers in the eyes of the pompous, and they reincarnate Vincent in the suburbs-and they do all this with a quiet mastery of forms borrowed from all quarters of the world, all the while standing in a kitchen cooking quinces, sitting at an office desk after hours turning emails into prayers. From the review by Mark Tredinnick

This book gives the reader an insight into each member of a large household - sixteen people in all. The grandmother, the parents and their nine children, an aunt, uncle and cousin and a gay boarder. It spans five generations and shows what life was like for people in the early part of the 20th century. The grandmother, born in 1894, saw two world wars and the subsequent depressions and lost family in WWI. It shows how the grandmother was in a difficult marriage and ultimately got divorced in 1920's and life as a sole parent during that time. The father and the uncle were both in the army in WWII and gives a little insight into what they went through. It tells of school days in catholic schools and the abuse suffered there by the author and her siblings. The author tells about her life as being a victim/survivor of domestic violence and speaks of her depression. Each member of the family is unique and their stories are very real. It also shows a lot of love and support for each other and shows how multiple strong personalities can all live together. In this book you will see how my grandmother, born in 1894, came to be disowned by her father in 1915. How my mother became a state ward and the physical and mental abuse she suffered in the 1930's. Although in this book you will see incidences of bullying, abandonment, drug abuse and many other issues, you will also see that, for the most part, how each one has come through it all in this very functional dysfunctional family.
This book of short stories is based on real people and real life experiences, as well as real places. The stories are about First Nations' people of Australia, especially in locations in and around Queensland's Gold Coast region.
My husband promised me the world - and on 21st May 2010, we left Sydney's Darling Harbour on board Princess Cruises Dawn Princess to see it. (It was my 68th birthday!) The 104 days would take us to over 40 destinations on all continents and cover a total distance of 73,440 kilometres or 45,633.5 miles. Prior to this I had only left Australia once - briefly. Herman however, had already spent some years at sea first in the Dutch Merchant Navy, and then in the Royal Dutch Navy and had visited many European and UK ports, and several in South America. On our world cruise he had the opportunity to revisit Curacao in the Netherlands Antilles where he was once posted. As well, members of Herman's family came from Holland to see us at various ports. Our world cruise preceded the world Covid pandemic which disrupted tourism and travel everywhere. So come with us through a different world, from Sydney and via the Suez Canal and return via the Panama Canal. Herman's 450 plus photographs say it all, which is why the text is minimal. We have identified features and places together with some useful information. We leave readers to consult the ever accommodating, Mr. Google to provide any additional information. Not all destinations in our 104-day cruise have been covered in this book. Some have been deliberately left out because they have been well covered in our previous books, i.e., Darwin which was included in our Around Australia's Coastline: Plus, Norfolk Island, some Papua New Guinea & Lombok (Indonesia). Bloomington, IN, Balboa Press, 2021. Auckland, which was included in Around New Zealand in 14 Days. London, Austin Macauley, 2021. And several islands included in our book Around the Pacific, One Island at a Time, Bloomington, IN, Balboa Press, 2022, are excluded here. To cover them again would make this book unwieldy. We also consider each cruise ship a destination in itself. When not touring, life on board is exceptionally interesting and entertaining, magnificent food and ambience, live theatre performances, movies, pre-dinner and lunch concerts, bands and orchestras and orchestral groups, talent quests, choirs and reviews presented by crew, guest entertainers, staff and talented passengers also entertain, art auctions, gyms, swimming pools etc. for the fitness fanatics, presentations from experts, and culinary and other classes, library, shops, casino and any number of games and events in which passengers can participate. We hope you enjoy sharing our world cruise experiences and do make plans to enjoy some cruises yourself. PS. - That's us on the back cover preparing to leave our motel and board the Princess Cruises Dawn Princess in Sydney's Darling Harbour. Pamela and Herman Odijk.
