"When Opportunity Knocks" is a manual for all those ready and willing to exploit the opportunities they encounter or create. It will encourage and help two groups numbering in the millions: owners of small businesses seeking to expand or diversify; and all the ambitious people stuck in dead-end jobs or laid off prior to or in the current "joyless recovery" who want to start their own businesses and become independent. The book details the great variety of opportunities and those who exploit them; characteristics of successful opportunists; blunders to avoid; and how and where to find profitable opportunities. Ambitious executives with large companies will find the same information very useful for advancing their careers.

A Poetic Walk of Faith has been created to: Awaken single mothers to recognize negative people and situations which hinder personal growth. Encourage single mothers to leave those situations behind and begin a new journey to destiny with Jesus as a guiding light. Strengthen the single mother to press through every test and trial that may come her way as she journeys to fulfillment. Every single mother has relationships and situations unique to her individual set of life circumstances. Therefore, this poetic work addresses a variety of life situations including: - The single mother who works hard at everything in her life. She attempts to give 100% at work, at home, and in relationships. None-the-less, she cannot find a comfortable balance between any of them. She puts all of her own needs on the back burner, and she eventually burns out. She needs help and a companion, but she has lost all hope in finding Mr. Right. - The single mother who has to have a man in her life at all times regardless of how negative the man may be. She needs a man to validate who she is. Sad to say, this single mother will put a man that she is not married to before her own children and family. - The single mother who was victim to emotional, physical, or sexual abuse. The crime may have occurred in adulthood or childhood. This mother needs to heal from her past. She needs to learn how not to be a magnet for dysfunctional relationships.
The impact on one family and the emotional trauma that they experience as the War takes its toll on them. Written from a mother's personal fight for understanding and answers to the War in Iraq. The truth of the matter is that not only are the Soldiers at War. the families left behind in the states go through their own personal war each day. Her torment and continuous obsession with the War takes her to politics and media issues that overwhelm her. The horrid display of media coverage and untruths that disembowels our democracy are treason. The media has worn out its welcome in her eyes. The political race has become nothing more than two children arguing over issues of the past. There is no rhyme or reason to our political parties. They are not dealing with the issues that are posed from the American public, yet they continue to fight over issues of who and who didn't serve in the Vietnam War. The emotional roller coaster that this mother experiences after not hearing from her son and then the few precious moments that they get to interact are shared with the readers. The painful truth of the War, the deaths of soldiers, and the realization of the danger the soldiers face come to life in her emotional quest to show America that the families suffer from War along with the soldiers in the field.
