Based on the assumption that a close relationship to that which is infinite is crucial for emotional and spiritual well-being, this book describes the many windows that are available to us and that afford us contact with the inexpressible and ineffable. It also highlights ideas, actions, emotions and attitudes that can block our view and thus impede our overall development. The text is liberally enlivened with stories, fables, myths and references to popular culture so that otherwise esoteric ideas are made enjoyable and accessible.

The poetry of Jody Cooke while greatly varied and at times seemingly unfocused in theme is a wonderful read and filled with rich emotional commentary. From man's base desires and carnal hunger to the more brutal aspects of rage, obsession, and the need for violence. Mr. Cooke takes a deep look into man's heart and pulls out the things we all try so desperately to hide. In other works he explores more romantic themes such as love, family, and the untamed wilds of our deepest imagination. Contained within this book are many such pieces. A body of work that is the result of a lifetime of creation. Here is a brief examination of a few of my favorites.

When I was maybe nine or ten years old, I did a double take on a photograph of myself because I didn't like what I saw ... but the picture did not improve: my shoulders were drooping and my chest looked a little sunken. From that moment on, I made a conscious effort to improve my posture by standing up tall with my shoulders back and my chest out. Over many years, this initial desire to improve myself has evolved to include more than just the way I look; these days, I'm working on my mind and spirit as well as my body, trying to elevate myself in any way I can. My writing is part of this. When I write about an experience or a memory, I'm able to slow everything down, think about what happened from a new angle, maybe even learn from it. Each of the thirty-six stories in this book is a step I have built to help me climb. I still have a long way to go, but I've definitely made progress. Join me on my journey. I trust the steps will hold you too. I don't have all the answers, but it's nice to know I have kindred spirits out there who are climbing with me. Together, we can repair the world. This work resulted in a case-study, which follows a couple of seniors living through the unprecedented year: pandemic, political, social, and personal turmoil. The most devastating blow was losing Bill, her husband of 58 years. Now she is left with her rich memories, with the support of their families and friends, and with the expanding new generations that bring hope and light for the future.

Through the years of dealing with family love and a plethora of personalities, I have noticed that in today's society there seems to be disarray, some perplexity, as well as puzzlement, and uncertainty of God's family order and how it works. Man should know the role, order, guidelines and relationships within the family household. God started the first family and created the ideal family household - husband, wife, son, and daughter. The love of every member of the family and the role each member plays within the family is outlined in this book.
