It's summer again in Oceanic Park. After the tumultuous events of the previous year, small-town lawyer Ned Johnston has returned to his usual summer routine. At the same time, Johnston is torn between anticipating and dreading the return of Sophia Ambrosetti, the musician and investigator with whom he had worked the previous summer.Meanwhile, the summer season in Oceanic Park is roiled by anti-immigrant tensions. A group calling itself the Oceanic Park Vigilantes is conducting an anti-immigrant flyer campaign, and an abrasive talk-show host named Walter Braddock is using his show as a platform for spreading inflammatory anti-immigrant rhetoric. When the anti-immigrant campaign turns deadly, Ned Johnston undertakes an investigation. As the investigation progresses, it reveals that nothing is as it appeared at first and ultimately leads to a series of startling discoveries.
A whimsical tale written in rhyme of one little boy's courageous journey to rid his fear of the dark in his room each night and the goblins and ghosts he's sure inhabit it. Instead of spooky ghouls, he stumbles upon a portal to amazing places and endless experiences, a magical blackboard on which he can rough in and refine all his wildest dreams and hatch his juiciest schemes. If he changes his mind, simply erase. Combining lyrical storytelling and striking illustrations, "Mikey's Magic Blackboard" redefines the concept of "darkness" from a scary place to a wondrous space. It also challenges readers to explore the things that frighten them and take back control of their lives.
The story of Gilberts Dragon introduces the Science Rangers, the teacher Ms. Daly, and the students in Room 3 at Lake Pleasant Primary School. Room 3 has an unannounced visitor join them for the day. The intruder has four legs, a tail and a cheeky smile with a lot of teeth and is usually found in deserts and arid environments. His scientific name is Lophognathus Gilberti, more commonly referred to as Gilberts Dragon. His owner calls him Bertie. The class were engaged in 'Shared Reading" when Bertie made his dramatic and frantic entrance. Having had very little to eat for breakfast he goes in search of the food in the children's lunch boxes and back-packs. Ms Daly tries her best to put a stop to the chaos in the classroom. However, it was the Science Rangers who saved the day.
Are We There Yet?Ms. Daly and Room 3 are going on a Field Trip to the world-famous Flinders Ranges. Miss Winn and Room 2 from Lake Windemere Primary School join Room 3 and the Science Rangers on their 3-day excursion. The bus arrived, children and teachers boarded, and the parents, siblings and grandparents waved goodbye. 'Here we go, here we go' rang out and the wheels on the bus were going round and round. Everything was going to plan, according to Ms Daly and Miss Winn. However, in the luggage compartment, a very curious and hungry passenger was working his way out of a backpack. Bertie escaped from the backpack stored directly under a trap door and joined the passengers on the bus. With Monster Mountain and Dead Man's Creek ahead, who will save the day? Good Luck Ms. Daly and Miss Winn.
"My work, my living, and my sharing come out of a wonderfully active soon to be, seven decades. I have had many successful life roles and my small, human self would note numerous hurdles vaulted, but remaining in each evolving moment consciously, my Higher Self has a different perspective. Living, like lines of a poem is energy in motion. Thoughts Come and Good Grief are poems describing that energy moving through processes of possibility. It's a matter of trusting the systems theory of the whole of everything, and being a conscious, whole and integral part of that Everything, which then promotes reverence for all of Life Itself". Let us let energy transform as we move in its flow!
Andrew. It was seven o'clock. Kelsey was usually home by now.He Worked a little while longer, but it was no use. Hecouldn't concentrate. Normally If kelseycame home a little late, it didn't bother him, but because of what had recentlyhappened, he was beginning to get a little worried. Eight o'clock. This was ridiculous. Where thehell was Kelsey?Kelsey. The tears werefalling steadily by now and had blurred her vision. Kelsey was not payingattention about where she was walking, Just caught upin her own misery. "Happy Thanksgiving," She said to nobody inparticular, laughing half-heartedly. Kelsey walked aimlessly down the street, her thoughts a million milesaway. Absentmindedly, she stepped off the curb and into the street. First she heard the screech of tires, followed by ascream. Then she felt pain, and in an instant, everything went black.Andrew and Kelsey were not onlylovers, theywere best friends. They had their shareof ups and downs, but they had managed to keep it together for eightyears. One day things changed. Thehappiness was gone. Laughter was nowhere to be found. They were no longerliving, loving, laughing, simply enjoying each other, but merely existingtogether. Would things ever be the way they once were? Will they laugh again?
Promises! All of us make promises that we hope to keep but sometimes we are kept from fulfilling them by life's problems. I promised many men in prison camp to contact their parents and loved ones if I made it back and they didn't. For over forty years I have searched for these families and talked to others but time is running out so I am writing their story of why they didn't make it home. This story is based on the lives of soldiers I met in basic training at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, the men I met on Bataan and in the prisoner of war camps. This is their story of why they surrendered, why they gave up after all physical strength was gone, and why they died. This is the story of a New Testament, a billfold and a list that made it through all the searches by the Japanese during those three and a half years. The Bible was used many times to comfort these men in their final hours. The battered billfold held the few pieces of paper with vital information and the list of men in Battery E of the 200th, who made it through the first attack on Clark Field on December 8, 1941, and dates of death for many. This is a story of friendship that helped me be one of the survivors of the Japanese prison camps, the hell ships and World War II. But most of all, this is a testimony of the Grace of God toward me in the hours of need. My favorite Scripture was the twenty-third PSALM, and I saw every verse fulfilled in my life. I can only pray that He will sustain and comfort you as you read these words, as he did me as a P.O.W.I express my appreciation to those who have helped and encouraged me to write this story of my experiences. My children have asked me to write down my memories. I especially wish to express appreciation to my wife for the many hours she spent to help edit the story for publication. I could not have completed the writing without her help. I appreciate the front cover design by my nephew, Joel Freeland. Thank you to each one for your help and encouragement.
It is always difficult to write about oneself with objectivity, yet I have written my own autobiography called Indelible Memories and found it was simply a stream of consciousness.I have lived a freedom-loving life, where I have been extremely dedicated and diligent in my life choices of dance, mime, clowning, and yoga.I have also experienced motherhood twice and have been blessed with wonderful and creative daughters and now two gorgeous granddaughters.I spent some time in 1960s living with the nomads, an indigenous community in western Australia, who lived independently from white domination. They were guided by a great man named Don Macleod, who fought for their rights of fair payment and working conditions.I have travelled to America and Europe, but my main interest and passion have been my many trips to India, experiencing the extraordinary spiritual culture still remaining intact. Lessons learned on issues such as life and death, the law of karma, and one's life's purpose.

While many of the poems or stories may have some truths. Majority are made up scenarios that could have or already happened. Although many of my writings may seem doom and gloomy in the beginnings, they all have hope and positive outcomes. Writing is a way of decompressing and in many ways giving others hope when they have none!

Just like everyone in the story of Jesus' birth, we each have a unique path when it comes to finding our way to God. Some paths are long, arduous and uncomfortable like the very pregnant Mary riding the donkey to Bethlehem. Some are joyous like the shepherds' race into town after their encounter with the angels. Some are thrust upon us like Joseph in a time of crisis. Suffice it to say, there are a lot of ways to the manger - a lot of ways to God - but they all end at the same place - in His presence. " Way to the Manger" is a daily guide through Advent to help you along your way to His presence.
It has been the darkest period in human history, when on September 01, 1939 the Nazi Germany invaded Poland, and the Soviet Union supported the invasion by attacking Poland from the east on September 17, 1939. Such was a beginning of the WWII with the Nazis fascists raiding the European countries and the USSR communists seizing the Baltic countries. My father was a pilot of an attack bomber Il-2, and he took off on 22 June 1941 to meet the Luftwaffe west of Kyiv. Then, one month later he flew a final combat sortie over Ukraine. Through the misty shades, the pilot noticed down the ground an enemy armor convoy and threw his bomber into a sharp-dive-attack, precisely hitting the target with heavy bombs. But, probably, it was too sharp, and the fuel in the tanks was very low quality to abort the inertia of such a steep descend. Ivan-pilot crash-landed on the field. The Soviets classified it as a fatal war casualty and called it "lost without news". But he survived and was kept in a Nazi death camp, where he deceased in 1944. I have traced the father's tragic path all through from the moment of his last sortie and then, in the manmade hell of captivity. Today, the people come to that once deadly place of Flossenburg in Bavaria and venerate the fallen in the war with hope that it will never happen again. But after 81 years, it again came to Ukraine, however, from the other side - from the east. The Russians suddenly invaded this country almost in the same way as they did it in Poland in 1939 and then, in Finland and the Baltic countries. And again, the Ukrainian life turned deadly with thousands and thousands killed and "to be missing". The bell tolls for them all over in Ukraine. And that sad song-requiem of the 20th century about "Buchenwald alarm bells" has been resumed in the 21st century, resonating in this country, but under a new caption today - "Ukrainian alarm bells". * * *, 1 1939, 17 1939.,, ., - -2, 22 1941, . ., ., , . - . ., 1944., .,,, . 81, ., 1939, . . . - 20-,, 21-, - .

"Luigi's life of public service is not only impressive quantitatively; the quality of his contribution to the conduct of diplomacy in this Hemisphere has been outstanding, indeed historic."Henry A. Kissinger
This book is a compilation of poems written to reflect the diverse experiences of people with melanated skin. As I witnessed resurfacing historical wounds of racism, bigotry, and social unrest, I was prompted to write poems that focused on how we managed to thrive and survive against all odds.
