I fired my second editor in 2016 after 10 years, and I asked: "Why are you changing my book and putting in voices he supposedly is hearing in his head like a schizophrenic?" Louise responded, "Well he would have to have been crazy to carve up those women in that way." I resonated "If he was a schizophrenic, then I'm a schizophrenic, you've been brainwashed by social media, he was a killer!" Then I hired my third editor/proofreader, Harold Winberg, who translated technical instruction manuals into six languages. I knew he would pay close attention to details and not change, or distort the message. To understand one's psyche, as a trained psychologist I know, you have to start at the true beginning. You can't just jump into London 1888 during the Jack the Ripper murders and begin chapter 1 there because it's thrilling, at first glance he would appear a deranged psychopath, at the least. John or Jack was already a skilled horse slaughterer at age 17, he could slit the throat and sever the vocal cords of horses with a sharp knife - a silent killer. Oh, a knife, The Ripper, why is a knife so much scarier than a gun? Because it's personal and intimate.

"If the gospel changes everything, why is there so little change in my life? Why do I struggle so much with sins that are debilitating, those that knock the wind out of me and deplete me emotionally? Where can I find hope to experience the freeing beauty of following Jesus?" Many Christians are frustrated over the disconnect between faith and lifestyle. Beyond Belief bridges the gaping chasm between belief and behavior. In so doing it exposes the short-circuits in how we view what the gospel is and how it practically changes us. If you are looking for a faith that works, especially in daily living, Beyond Belief is for you. As you apply the principles in Beyond Belief those around you will notice the change. And so will you.

This book is the sequel to Peter Hunt's memoir about his childhood entitled Child of a Bygone Era. Born in Brighton in 1940, it was at the end of the war that his father, a chartered accountant, was sent to develop his company's office in Hong Kong. There Peter lived with his parents and flourished until, at the age of seven, he was sent back to two boarding schools (preparatory and public) in post-war England. This memoir continues the story of his life from his days at Trinity College, Dublin to a life in London in advertising and marketing through the 1960s and 1970s. To give the reader an idea of the pleasure in reading this memoir, this is a quote from the publisher's acceptance letter. "We can confidently state that your work was found to be a compelling memoir, full of fantastic takeaways the reader can benefit from. You have expressed your experiences in an incredibly emotive way, conjuring a strong sense of engagement in the reader... The exquisite writing style and honesty with which you detail your experiences make this story one that will intrigue many. The author will be delighted if you receive the same pleasure from reading this book as the publisher would seem to have acquired.
