The Kingdom of Watetu and Songaland is an autobiographical story about Mpeki, the princess of the Watetu tribe who realised early that FGM in her tribe was wrong and who sought out to bring about a change, a journey that caused her and her loved ones a lot of pain, because the Watetu tribe practised FGM while the neighbouring tribe, the Songa, appreciated sexuality. The differences that their cultures represented brought about a clash after the prince of Songaland assisted Princess Mpeki to run off after she hindered the mutilation of her sister. This started a rift between both tribes that resulted in the abduction of the prince of Songaland, and the princess's sister, whose mutilation the princess had hindered, was bought back by the missionaries. The prince of Songaland ended in Portugal as a slave, making his father furious - reason for a war that lasted for two decades. It was finally after the abolition of slavery worldwide that the prince of Songaland came back with Mpeki and the missionaries who had travelled with her to help her evade her own mutilation. Upon the arrival of the prince, his father ordered him to leave the princess, claiming that she was cursed. In fact, the princess was not cursed as all had thought. It was through her sacrifices that the two tribes reunited, becoming one under the prince and princess's rule in the new kingdom of Watetu and Songaland, a kingdom of peace, justice and harmony. The story ends with a bombastic marriage between the two tribes, the result of the eradication of FGM.

The story of Nyango: The Girl with Healing Powers captures the life of a young girl named Nyango, born with the ability to heal. Her mother died while giving birth to her and she was raised by her grandmother, Sumediang, who was a renowned healer in their village. Sumediang's inability to cure the son of the village's chief led the chief to banish her from the village. The decision to expel Sumediang from the village - and with her, Nyango - led to major changes in the young girl's life. The book explores how Nyango and her grandmother struggled with life after they departed their village. It portrays how Nyango tried to reconcile her life as a healer with growing up as a young girl.

Technologically, Britain is moving forward in leaps and bounds. We can buy everything we could possibly need online from Tesco, Amazon or a plethora of other outlets - and have the goods delivered within hours. Words like gigabyte and Netflix are as familiar to us as tea and coffee. We can talk to our friends on the other side of the world, at no cost, in real time, fully visible and stark naked if we like. Everything's on tap, 24/7. But is downloading a blizzard of smartphone apps and consuming Deliveroo-ed pizza just because we can, making us appreciative, happy souls - or turning us into arseholes? What happened to our green and pleasant land - or is it more colourful and lovelier than ever? From politics to parenting and schooling, the honours system to the state of our national game (football), from the way we build our housing estates to how we behave at horse races, Progress, What Progress? offers up a wry and humorous commentary on what it means to live in 21st-century Britain. Is this a country we can be proud of and feel safe to live in? Has social media been our saviour, or has it set us on a course where, in a few years from now, the art of conversation will be lost forever and we'll barely be able to string a sentence together? As long as you can still read, see what you think...

I was married to my best friend for 12 years before he was given the diagnosis of stage 4 gastroesophageal cancer in 2018. He passed away in 2019 after a life-changing journey. This is my uncensored real-life journey of caring for someone with cancer and how I coped with the emotions and expectations surrounding bereavement and grief. It is written using real thoughts and feelings and based on factual events. It provides a raw insight into the pure emotions experienced on a day-to-day basis and how, ultimately, I used those experiences to forge my way through bereavement and onto an inspirational journey of finding hope, encouragement and a renewed lust for life. In my journey, I sadly lost the love of my life but I also gained a new outlook on my future by finding a way to create a 'new normal' despite my life changing. If you are going through a similar situation, I hope this book will show you that you are not alone and that the thoughts and feelings you go through are very real. I also hope it shows that despite the darkest of days, it is possible to remember the ones we lose with courage and a determination to turn something so difficult into a life of purpose and hope. This book offers a real-life insight into the cancer experience from the carer's perspective. However you read this book, whether you be a carer yourself, a family member, a friend or a medical professional, it can offer a profoundly inspiring and unique insight.
