Sculptor Martin Kargruber (b. 1965), from South Tyrol, Italy, forms each of his distinctive sculptural objects from a single piece of solid wood. He consciously uses the wood's natural properties and organic materiality in his architectural and landscape motifs, employing traditional techniques and interpreting them anewin extraordinary ways. He transforms the rigidity of the material into a seemingly gentle movement, incorporating the workmanship itself into an explicit part of the design. This impressive monograph of the Norwegian potter Elisa Helland-Hansen (b. 1950) is an all-encompassing work of art. With unique hand-processed photographs, she documents her distinctive vessels, traces her sources of inspiration, and displays her objects "in action": serving, pouring, or cooking. The publication brings together essays by various authors and a series of short, poetic texts by Helland-Hansen and others on significant figures, topics, and events in her life. This book, which is published in conjunction with an exhibition of her work at Kunstnerforbundet in Oslo, presents and contextualizes an important, contemporary ceramicist and affords personal insights into her life, thinking, and work processes.

This outstanding jewelry collection of the Cologne Museum of Applied Arts (MAKK) will be showcased for the first time in a dedicated exhibition. Featuring cross-epochal and cross-cultural themes, the exhibition successfully presents diverse approaches to the art of jewelry-making. The photographs of around 370 objects and the accompanying descriptions demonstrate just how multifaceted jewelry design is. The social, societal, emotional, and symbolic aspects of jewelry are also evaluated and discussed in an essay by Beatriz Chadour-Sampson. The MAKK's jewelry collection of around 1,600 works spans a period of 7,000 years: from ancient oriental gems from the 5th millennium BC to contemporary jewelry. This is what makes this collection so unique and diverse.

All the World's a Stage grants an in-depth insight into the fascinating oeuvre of the Israeli artist Attai Chen (1979-2023). After Glow documents the New Nordic Porcelain Forum, a project which focuses on the Nordic tradition of porcelain production. The focal point is the establishment of a collaboration between thirteen ceramic artists from the Scandinavian regions, who gathered for a residency in Denmark in 2019 and in 2021 for a two-week stay in various workshops associated with porcelain production in Norway, Sweden, and Finland.This publication not only serves as an exhibition catalogue; it also gives insights into the important industrial and design histories of northern Europe, as well as into today's use of porcelain as an artistic medium. In doing so, it is hoped that the production of Nordic contemporary ceramics will advance in a new collaborative praxis in order to transform and therefore preserve this important cultural heritage.

Her material is silver, not gold, with a vernacular created from the classical canon of fundamental forms.
