Great nations were declaring war against other nations. Bosnian rebels were plotting the overthrow of the Serbian government. Foreign leaders were regular targets of assassination. Religious freedom was under attack. The Catholic faith was being oppressed. World order hung in the balance. And against this hostile backdrop, three humble shepherd children were witness to a series of improbable visions that were destined to change the world. Near the majestic fields of Cova da Iria, in a pasture owned by the dos Santos family near the village of Fatima, Portugal, a woman who shone more brilliant than the sun, simply and dramatically appeared. For six consecutive months, the woman, who identified herself only as "Our Lady of the Rosary," would reveal messages so poignant and urgent that this extraordinary occurrence has grown into a worldwide devotion that continues to thrive to this very day. Now, with the perspective of one hundred years of history and controversy, historian Paul F. Caranci retells the story presenting a unique hour-by-hour, day-by-day account of the events surrounding the appearance as they unfolded. And he describes how through it all, the message of Fatima has created enormous change in the hearts of many, a change that is needed in everyone if the peace foretold and promised by "Our Lady of the Rosary" is to be realized.

This true-to-life story takes place in the great state of New Jersey... specifically in the little-known town of Firewood, where nearly half of the residents happen to be of Italian descent. It begins on a quiet spring afternoon in a backyard where two brothers are pitching a not-so-innocent game of horseshoes. A half-mile away, a widow and her adult son are about to sit down in their kitchen for a traditional Sunday dinner. Unbeknownst to any of the above, across town, a garage and its owner are engulfed in flames. These three conflicting scenes of hilarity, humanity and hysteria set into play this "it-could-happen-to-you" lighthearted comedy. Our tale's protagonist, Tee (Theresa) Rosetti manages her family, which includes her husband, Frank, and their teenage daughter, Joanna, and their modest two-story house. The chore of getting the garage rebuilt lands on her petite but strong shoulders. Before she can turn around, her world is invaded by a gathering of "problem solvers."Along the way, this farce gathers a cluster of characters. Some are lovable, others laughable but each plays a role in the journey toward the construction of a new garage for the Rosetti's.

The Eaton is the award-winning debut novel of John K. Addis. Spanning over 100 years of mid-Michigan history, but written in the gruesome style of '80s horror classics, The Eaton tells the story of Sam Spicer, who purchases the dilapidated Michigan Central Railroad Depot in Eaton Rapids with the dream of opening a hot new martini bar. But when he and his friends unearth an abandoned underground hotel directly beneath the property, they must discover what happened to the original guests-before their own time runs out.An Amazon and Audible Best-Seller Over 1,000 Four-Star and Five-Star Reviews"The Eaton is the best kind of horror." - Midwest Book Review"The Eaton is an astonishing debut. A tense and suspenseful thriller set in Mid-Michigan, filled with historical information, I could not put this down! Fresh, original, and truly terrifying." - Kirk Montgomery, WILX-TV"It's not often I find myself so absorbed in a book that grabs my attention from the onset up until the last page. It's fast-paced, macabre and full of gritty atmospheric settings, along with a relentlessly chilling plot from an author who's mastered the genre!" - Catherine Rose Putsche, Author of The Surgeon's Son"This book is so well-plotted, and the characters feel so real, that you will be as terrorized as they are. Some of the images are so vivid that I had to put The Eaton down for a few minutes, let myself relax, take a few breaths, then I could continue. You have to keep reading to see what happens next, even if you are afraid to find out."- Bill Mackela, Bill's Book Reviews"Reminiscent of an old-school Stephen King novel, The Eaton will hold you captive from its first paragraph to its shocking conclusion. This spell-binding thriller kept me guessing all the way through, and left me anxiously hoping for a sequel." - Jenn Carpenter, So Dead Podcast, Author of Haunted Lansing"Amazing debut by a really talented author. This is one of those books that will stick with you after you read it-Addis does a great job of putting you in the action." - Alec Drachman, Goodreads"What Addis does best is convey to the reader the slow rising terror as the characters realize their situation. I don't want to give anything thing away because finding out what is in the hotel, where it came from and how it works is part of the creepy fun. It is hard to creep me out and this one did it. - Sharon Stogner, I Smell Sheep Reviews"The Eaton is a great book. I would recommend The Eaton to anyone who loves a good horror story with rich, well-developed characters who all have their secrets they would like to keep hidden, but are faced with a horror they've never met." - Melanie Marsh, FangFreakinTasticReviews.com"Addis pens plenty of suspense, gore, disturbing imagery, and edge-of-your-seat tension throughout the entire text. The book, as a whole, is inviting, intriguing, and worth investing in. Plus, Addis manages to create independent, smart female characters, not something you see every day in a horror novel." - Julia Gaskill, Portland Book Review"Out-and-out thrilling horror and an absolute page-turner- it had me wanting 'just another chapter.' But it is, I think, also a little more than that. Addis explores a number of very contemporary and relatable concerns here regarding the relationship between the characters and their pasts. This is a great read and I guarantee horror fans are about to be as hooked in as I was." - Lit Amri, Readers' Favorite

The book also covers special topics related to the use of new diagnostic biomarkers for hypertension patients, as well as endocrine and nutrition focused approaches to treat the condition. This reference book will be useful for medical professionals involved in the management and care of patients affected with hypertension.

This unique textbook presents a novel, axiomatic pedagogical path from classical to quantum physics. Readers are introduced to the description of classical mechanics, which rests on Euler's and Helmholtz's rather than Newton's or Hamilton's representations. Special attention is given to the common attributes rather than to the differences between classical and quantum mechanics. Readers will also learn about Schrödinger's forgotten demands on quantization, his equation, Einstein's idea of 'quantization as selection problem'. The Schrödinger equation is derived without any assumptions about the nature of quantum systems, such as interference and superposition, or the existence of a quantum of action, h. The use of the classical expressions for the potential and kinetic energies within quantum physics is justified. Key features: Presents extensive reference to original texts. Includes many details that do not enter contemporary representations of classical mechanics, although these details are essential for understanding quantum physics.Contains a simple level of mathematics which is seldom higher than that of the common (Riemannian) integral. Brings information about important scientistsCarefully introduces basic equations, notations and quantities in simple steps This book addresses the needs of physics students, teachers and historians with its simple easy to understand presentation and comprehensive approach to both classical and quantum mechanics.
"Reading John and 1, 2, 3 John seeks to help readers-whether students or scholars, ministers or laypeople-gain a greater understanding of and appreciation for biblical texts in their original contexts. To this good end, commentaries in this series attend not only to lexical, historical, and critical concerns but are also attuned to and interested in, as the subtitle of each volume signals, literary matters and theological meaning"--

A rigor, o único critério é me chamar atenção. Pronto!
